View Full Version : For thos who say Bubba is making it up - Press Release
bboyneko 03-01-2006, 05:37 PM Clear Channel Threatens Injunction To Keep Bubba Quiet
March 1, 2006
The bombs about Clear Channel that Bubba The Love Sponge was threatening to drop today have been put on hold. "I've been told by my bosses to shut the f**k up, at this point," said Bubba during his program, sounding annoyed and unleashing a tirade against Clear Channel. What stirred Bubba up is a letter Clear Channel sent to Sirius Satellite Radio threatening an injunction to keep Bubba silent. Bubba was supposed to be free as of last night -- February 28 -- at midnight, but that has been put on hold until the matter can be worked out.
"[Clear Channel] has threatened to file an injunction if we make any disparaging comments that would be a violation of an existing agreement they have," said Bubba's agent, Tom Bean. "We want to make sure we have everybody's best interest at heart in relation to making sure we are not putting anyone in harm's way. We want to get clarification and don't want to end up in a situation where we're indemnifying Sirius against anything and we end up potentially on the hook."[hr]
"Not dropping these Clear Channel bombs is not going make or break me or my radio show," added Bubba. "I've gone since January 9 and had some great shows. I don't need to drop Clear Channel bombs. I would like to, just so I can disrupt somebody's life."
The "bombs" that Bubba is promising to drop include what he says are 100 percent truth statements that will "ruin people's lives," including drug and prostitution use.

Apologize to bubba right now
Deryk 03-01-2006, 05:40 PM Where are the haters now?
You bunch of chicken shit cock biting fuck asses.
man up and appologize for being alive.
DFWSternFan1975 03-01-2006, 05:41 PM i am torry
RockOverBoston 03-01-2006, 05:43 PM What exactly is fmbq.com, anyway?
Bit or not, this will garner an amount of press coverage either way.
jlohlinger 03-01-2006, 05:49 PM Great source.
BiggusDickus 03-01-2006, 05:49 PM I don't get this "slander" angle. If Bubba talks about things that he has witnessed, isn't it just tough shit if it'll rock a few boats?
KazzNCali 03-01-2006, 05:50 PM How the fuck is that a press release? All that is is a summary of what Bubba said on the air. Show us the actual document filed by Clear Channel or the letter they sent to Sirius.
Apologize for nothing. If Bubba wants to man up, then why not take the heat off of Sirius and post what he knows on his website. If he has something concrete, prove it. I'm not saying he doesn't but quit jerking people around. Show it already.
RockOverBoston 03-01-2006, 05:50 PM If it's true, and it's documented, and can be proven in any court of law, it wouldn't be slander. Simple as.
Sir JMark 03-01-2006, 05:51 PM Unconfirmed
seanxmoney 03-01-2006, 05:52 PM Man up Pussah you chicken shit
RockOverBoston 03-01-2006, 05:53 PM Yeah, again, where's this press release this thread promises?
Deryk 03-01-2006, 05:55 PM FMQB is one of the most respected radio industry news sources there is.
Revolution9 03-01-2006, 05:56 PM Bubba shoulda known this was going to come down on him. He's not that big a rube. All that hype and then the let down - reminds me of a couple of Stern pay-per-views.
If he's out to ruin lives - think of the people being affected - the collateral damage - people's kids and shit. That's fucked up.
I'd rather listen to him talking about NASCAR and Hulk's hemmorhoids.
Il Gatto 03-01-2006, 05:57 PM Great source.

Captainqueeg 03-01-2006, 05:58 PM Here is my question. When did bubba announce that he would "reveal" these "bombs" at exactly 5:00 p.m? Today was the first I've heard him say that.
How would CC know to deliver a letter at 4:55 p.m. and not at 2:55 p.m.?
ChronoSkooma17 03-01-2006, 05:58 PM It's not a lie, bubba has to play best of right now because he's going to a meeting to discuss this

Thats all well and good, but a careful read shows no input from CC or their reps. This all may be true... it's just unconfirmed at this point.
Il Gatto 03-01-2006, 05:59 PM Here is my question. When did bubba announce that he would "reveal" these "bombs" at exactly 5:00 p.m? Today was the first I've heard him say that.
How would CC know to deliver a letter at 4:55 p.m. and not at 2:55 p.m.? He said it in the first 5 mins of the show, and he's been saying today was the day since his first day at Sirius.
SteelRat 03-01-2006, 05:59 PM Don't you think Clear Channel would have something to say about it if Bubba fabricated an injunction from them?
Captainqueeg 03-01-2006, 06:01 PM He said it in the first 5 mins of the show, and he's been saying today was the day since his first day at Sirius.
Exactly, if I'm CC I deliver that letter/make that call BEFORE the show, not 1 hour and 55 minutes in.
Revolution9 03-01-2006, 06:01 PM Bubba meeting transcript:
Bubba: Wow, we pulled that one off big time!
Manager: I told you we would. Yee haw!
Brent: slurp, slurp, slurp
Il Gatto 03-01-2006, 06:01 PM Don't you think Clear Channel would have something to say about it if Bubba fabricated an injunction from them?
Why would they speak? That would be stupid to give it even more publicity.
Il Gatto 03-01-2006, 06:02 PM Thats all well and good, but a careful read shows no input from CC or their reps. This all may be true... it's just unconfirmed at this point.
The source is legit. My only point.
RockOverBoston 03-01-2006, 06:04 PM FMQB is one of the most respected radio industry news sources there is.
No, seriously, it's not.
It's a website which tabulates anything newsworthy that goes on in the radio business, usually "borrowing" their reports from the actual respecter radio industry news sources.
They report anything, regardless of whether or not it's been fact-checked or if it's even somewhat legitimate.
With a readership approaching 10,000 industry professionals
Wow, nearly 10,000 readers, in an industry that employs over 3 million people? Bah golly, that's really something!
DoucheNozzle 03-01-2006, 06:05 PM Here is my question. When did bubba announce that he would "reveal" these "bombs" at exactly 5:00 p.m? Today was the first I've heard him say that.
How would CC know to deliver a letter at 4:55 p.m. and not at 2:55 p.m.?
At the beginning of the show. I would imagine that he would wait until five since that is when so many people get off work and get in their cars and listen.
Bubba never said that a letter was delivered at 4:55...that is when he says he got a call from Sirius' legal department.
SteelRat 03-01-2006, 06:06 PM Why would they speak? That would be stupid to give it even more publicity.
I'm saying if this was all made up by Bubba, I don't think Clear Channel would let him get by with saying they filed an injunction if they didn't.
DFWSternFan1975 03-01-2006, 06:10 PM What exactly is fmbq.com, anyway?
i'll take a guess and say Friday morning quarterback?
IheartNY 03-01-2006, 06:12 PM Bubba isn't live right now...he said atty's were there and now it's a replay...SOMETHIN'S UP!!!! Go Bubba!!!!
FMQB is the Radio industry news.....It has the Clear Channel story....
Revolution9 03-01-2006, 06:13 PM Here's the difference between Howard and Bubba: Howard thinks more of his audience than to replay content while he 'takes a meeting' on air. Bubba's got balls man - he really must think we are marks.
KingkyKAT 03-01-2006, 06:21 PM Not true Rev9, Stuff has happened on air on Howard where he has had to take long breaks. At KRock, he could cover it up with a really long comercial break. This is not a bad move on Bubbas part, and Stern would be furious over this if it was him and be doing the same think.
Revolution9 03-01-2006, 06:27 PM huh?
Sondan 03-01-2006, 08:23 PM I am sorry but I thought today's show sucked. I was eagerly looking forward to Bubba's "Big Bombs" but all I got was a little fart. I don't think Bubba should have opened his mouth if he wasn't for sure that he could say what he wanted to.
Signed,
Sondan
jimmyha 03-01-2006, 09:03 PM I really like Bubba's show....it's very funny and he has a lot of talent. But, he needs to stop trying to fool his audience (the Ned thing and probably this).
As far as Ned goes, the character is very funny and I like that he never acknowledges that it isn't a real person. But, the whole "contract dispute" thing and trying to fake out H100 news is lame.
This whole Clear Channel injunction thing seems very much like a bit. I've heard a lot of other DJs do bits that fool the audience and this sure seems like one.
This is a very amatuer way to pull off a bit. I don't mind it when the jocks with less talent do it (because they have nothing funnier to do), but someone with the talent that Bubba and his crew have need to lay of the amateur stuff....they are much better than this.
Bubba, if you're reading this....you know as well as I do that bits where you try to fool the audience is something that the Morning Zoo in Bumfuck, Oklahoma does, it's not something that great radio personalities like yourself do.
Pussah just a jackoff. He sucks o&a's ballzac
Tom from T.O. 03-01-2006, 11:12 PM There are alot of very, very dense people that cannot tell when something is obviously real, like this is, and obviously a funny joke, like Ned is. You kind of start to undertsand how the hell Bush was re-elected, these Einsteins find ways to intepret events that boggle the mind.
Captainqueeg 03-02-2006, 07:14 AM There are alot of very, very dense people...
You got that part of that right. Here, eat a big old McGillicutty shit sandwich.
Pussah2 03-02-2006, 07:18 AM Pussah just a jackoff. He sucks o&a's ballzac
You are one of the few people here I actually hate. Most I just don't care because it it is just the internet but I really don't like you.
ItsAllAboutYou 03-02-2006, 08:27 AM First of all, I am not a long time fan of Bubba...but I started listening to him when he started on Sirius. Not only has he been talking about dropping the bombs on Clear Channel, but also asked the listeners to mail in any crap about Clear Channel execs they had. I believe he had every intention of dropping a few bombs. Bubba does not need to lie and deceive his audience with lame pranks for ratings. He is grateful for his job and listeners and I seriously doubt he would stoop to such low levels to pull one over on his fans. Stop thinking like "free radio" listeners...this is Sirius...no ratings...he says what he is going to do because he CAN DO IT NOW!!
Thank you and have a nice day...
dblbrown69 03-02-2006, 08:52 AM Fuck clear channel
JayCeeEm 03-02-2006, 09:07 AM I work in the testicular radio industry, let me just say this off the bat...
www.allaccess.com is basically the industry standard for news and information that happens inside the industry. Now, I'm not saying Bubba is lying, but so far, there is no information on this topic available. Their news section was last updated about 20 minutes ago. I will keep you guys posted on this today.
SnidleyWhiplash 03-02-2006, 09:17 AM No, seriously, it's not.

Watch out - your idiot is showing.
Yes, seriously, it is. It's farily obvious that you don't work in the radio or music industry. FMQB *is* one of the most respected and trusted industry publications, period, and if you think that this whole thing is a big Bubba prank, you're stupider than I give you credit for.
DevilDog 03-02-2006, 09:27 AM I wasn't skeptical until reading this post. Just did a Google news search and there isn't one mention of this supposed injunction.....
IF this is fake, I'm going to be really, really pissed.
RockOverBoston 03-02-2006, 09:47 AM Watch out - your idiot is showing.

Einstein, I do work in radio, and have for quite some time. FMQB is regarded as a blog-esque website, this article about Bubba all but confirms to the world exactly how we regard their "news", which consists solely of reprints of articles from more legitimate sources, or running blogs of whatever may happen on particular shows.
This "press release" is absolutely no different. It's nothing more than a running play-by-play of what transpired on the air during yesterday's show.
You wanna talk about actual industry standard publications, it begins and ends with this bad boy:
Radio and Records.com (http://www.radioandrecords.com)
If this story had a shred of legitimacy to it, this website, the true industry standard , would be all over it.
Not word one.
Howard's clearly glossed the whole thing over and all but disregarded it -- though he did come to Bubba's defense by falsely stating that "every story" on R&R is either about he or Bubba -- in actuality, Howard's there, Bubba's nowhere to be seen, even in the depths of the member's section.
If you're still buying into this WrestleMania-esque work despite a complete and total lack of any real evidence, I really don't know what to tell you - "stop taking blogs so seriously", maybe?
Spize 03-02-2006, 09:59 AM I am just waiting for this money hungry asshole to say, I can only put the bombs onto BubbaRaw.com so log on in to Bubbaraw.com and pay 9.99 a month.
JayCeeEm 03-02-2006, 01:20 PM Maybe this will help shut some people up...

Clear Channel Threatens Legal Action On Bubba The Love Sponge
Clear Channel Threatens Legal Action On Bubba The Love Sponge
It was just a mere five minues before SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO/HOWARD 101 evening host BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE was about to unload on CLEAR CHANNEL, when management from his former company contacted SIRIUS management and threatened legal action.
There was no secret what BUBBA was planning to do on MARCH 1st, following the expiration of his contract with CLEAR CHANNEL. Promos had been running on HOWARD 101 since JANUARY 9th.
Although BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE didn't talk about what he planned to say yesterday, here is excerpt from BUBBA's show last night (3/1):
"When WALL STREET finds out how shady these drug upper management types are that runs this company - the drug abuse, prostitutes, adultery, I am sure that my CLEAR CHANNEL bombs will cause people to be fired and disrupt families, just like they disrupted my family two years and made an example of me."
BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE told ALL ACCESS, "It's in the lawyers hands at this point, but I am sure that my exit agreement with CLEAR CHANNEL does not go past FEBRUARY 28th at midnight. I will be able to talk about these things once the lawyers get done overthinking the process. They [CLEAR CHANNEL] are trying to impede on my first amendment right. CLEAR CHANNEL knows what I said is true. Otherwise, why are they getting me not to say anything? Typical CLEAR CHANNEL - all about censorship."
Done...everyone satisfied now??
RockOverBoston 03-02-2006, 01:47 PM No, and why would we be?
It's an interview with Bubba with a poorly worded headline.
Abudiwa 03-02-2006, 04:08 PM i can't wait to hear about the hookers and blow :D
tommarsh4 03-02-2006, 07:38 PM Bubba thinks we are all marks

I don't know. Probably not. I imagine that anyone else who'd seen this actually took the time to read it.
Tom from T.O. 03-03-2006, 12:00 AM I don't know. Probably not. I imagine that anyone else who'd seen this actually took the time to read it.
You know, I have to apologise. I singled you out as a mental midget and believe I may have called you a blithering idiot. But this post by you has made me do a complete 180. Coherent, concise and straight to the point, it reveals quite a keen intellect. Sorry I ever doubted you. Carry on Einstein.
Tom from T.O. 03-03-2006, 12:02 AM Einstein, I do work in radio, and have for quite some time.
Since when did Tom Chiusano start posting at SFN?
radalac 03-03-2006, 12:28 AM DOES ANYONE KNOW ?ARE BUBBAS LAWYERS ON IT OR IS HE GOING DROP THE WHOLE THING.WHAT HAPPENED TO "I HAVE MY LAWYERS IN PLACE".HOWARD AND BUBBAS SHOWS ARE AWESOME,I HOPE SURIUS STANDS BEHIND THEM AND NOT LET ASSCLOWNS LIKE CBS AND CLEAR CRAP GET THEIR WAY.
1siriusfan 03-03-2006, 11:31 AM Apparently the don't say Shit clause is still in effect. FOREVER
jiffster 03-03-2006, 12:08 PM I hope he tells us something soon... I have been waiting to hear about this since day one... I guess he will when he can...
boston_Gillman 03-03-2006, 01:27 PM Bubba is a fat fuck and a pussy.....this was old made up. Brent can suck bubba cock!~
stumpjumper 03-03-2006, 07:42 PM For what it's worth.
I believe him.
It seems that he would rather just keep his life running smooth after being dead in the water for two years. Would causing some trouble for the idiots at clear channel be worth the cost of lawyers? I'm sure that a big corporation has much more funding than some guy trying to make a living as a radio entertainer!!
Maybe some day the truth will come out.
crazycanuck 03-04-2006, 09:21 AM The way I understood it was that Bubba's lawyers gave the go ahead but after the injunction the Sirius lawyers put a hold on it. If that's what happened then it's out of Bubba's hands unless he wants to piss off Sirius, Howard and every stock holder.
Captainqueeg 03-04-2006, 05:40 PM The way I understood it was that Bubba's lawyers gave the go ahead but after the injunction the Sirius lawyers put a hold on it.
There is NO injuction. Only bubba "claiming" he got a letter threatening an injunction.
Tom from T.O. 03-04-2006, 10:26 PM There is NO injuction. Only bubba "claiming" he got a letter threatening an injunction. And I am looking for a glory hole.
Does the fact that the actual letter was posted here at SFN interest you at all or do you feel those kind of things are just irritating trivials that get in the way of the bigger pictue?
Toms Taint 03-05-2006, 02:27 AM Bubba has copies of the injunction 4 sale on his website, if u don't believe him.
Howard treats his fans with so much respect and Bubba treats his fans like walking pocket books, ya know ya gotta PAY to join his fan website, real POS, IMO.
boston_Gillman 03-06-2006, 08:16 AM Bubba's show seems to be getting better- screw clear channel. Is ned real?
ThaJeffSki 03-06-2006, 09:23 AM Bubba is selling the injuction? what a bunch of bullshit he's like a company who's trying to nickle and dime ya to death
boston_Gillman 03-06-2006, 10:46 AM actually I am sick of him pimping his gear all the time...Bubba if you read the SFN, stop trying to sell everything in the worls...torture racvk, cd's, shirts, no-one wants this shit and you spend 15 minutes an hour talking about it.
Just broadcast you fat fuck!
