View Full Version : Bubba a REPUBLICAN?????
DevilDog 03-07-2006, 03:38 PM I was shocked to hear Bubba say last night that, up until now, he was a lifelong Republican. I'm dumbfounded that ANYONE who is so concerned with free speech, "decency" witch hunts, strippers, etc. could ever in a million years support the party that does everything it can to extinguish our rights to do what Bubba does!!!

There is more to the republican party than what you listed.
JayCeeEm 03-07-2006, 03:49 PM Al Gore, along with his wife, were some of the original supporters of the censorship of music in this country (they are some of the ones responsible for the 'parental advisory' labels)...don't believe everything you read in the papers & see on tv about the Republican party.

I'm not going to sit here and explain the process of cycles in this country, but realize that typical legislation takes approx. 8 years once passed to have an effect on the US market...
Now, that's not for every law passed, but the majority which affects our economy. Oh, and 9/11 & the demise of the Trade Center didn't help either. Nor did those pesky little hurricanes last year. Or the fact that the price of oil has skyrocketed (my "why we should just nuke every arab country" rant will come soon enough).
I'm not even a Republican...but people should at least be aware of how their country works. Their are no "parties" anymore; Republicans, Dummycrats, all think the same, act the same, are after the same goal; make the rich richer, and the poor poorer. No middle class is the best situation in their minds.
Da Truth 03-07-2006, 04:13 PM Hmm republicans and "dummycrats" -- no Jay it doesn't sound like you're partisan at all.... :bigthink:
JayCeeEm 03-07-2006, 04:13 PM No, there's just no good nickname for "republican"
Da Truth 03-07-2006, 04:28 PM No, there's just no good nickname for "republican"
Well, the Conservatives that follow the NEO-conservatives' policies whether or not they directly conflict with true Conservative values, they could be aptly nicknamed "traitors to their party" or simply "whores." :dontknow:

Ironpirate 03-07-2006, 05:02 PM hell yeah bubba
asshat 03-07-2006, 07:11 PM What's fucked up is people who stereotype an entire group based on their views of only a few people. Take for instance the fact that most everyone assumed Bubba was NOT a Republican b/c he bitches so much about his lack of free speech.
Truth is, as mentioned before about the Gore's, some of the worst attacks on Freedom of Speech started when Al was a Senator and continued throughout the Clinton terms. Anyone ever heard of "2 Live Crew" and "Tipper Gore" ? If not, go download (legally of course ;) ) a copy of 2LC's "Banned in the USA".
So lets stop pointing the finger at an entire party and accuse the "party" of doing all good or all bad. Remember, the Constitution set up some very carefully constructed checks-and-balances for all areas of government. The majority of things people bitch about day after day wouldn't stand a chance (literally) without passing BOTH the House AND the Senate AND getting signed by the President. Except of course when you have activist judges that like to legislate from the bench and thats a different story for a different day.
So, its very simple, carefully, CAREFULLY, pay attention to your state's representatives (House and Senate) and if you have questions about their honesty or their judgement, choose a viable alternative or start your own campaign. Just stop bitching when you sit back and do nothing and the only fucking excuse you can come up with is that whole bullshit spill about "I chose the lesser of the two evils, but I didnt like either of them." If you dont like someone's policies, don't vote or write-in an alternative.
You have options. You have choices. You have capabilities. Use them. If you don't give a fuck on election day, shut the hell up and don't give a fuck while someone you could have prevented from being elected puts policies into place that you dont like.
/a gets down off his soapbox.
RightWinger 03-07-2006, 09:43 PM Canada is very liberal...they allow gay marriage, make it against the law to say anything against gays but they censored Howard out of Canada...
OG conservatives is where its at not those guys who call themselves conservatives and spend tons of money on a dopey war where we'd be better off dropping an atomic bomb...save money and lives...
laazrakit 03-07-2006, 11:03 PM Back in the day Bubba had Dan Quayle on.... Gave him about as much love as he gives Tony Stewart and Hogan now.
johnqpublic 03-08-2006, 08:12 AM Whats going on now is the work of the religious right. They are the ones calling for censorship. I consider myself a republican, but am definately not religious right....like Bush. Nothing good can come from mixing politics & religion.
