I expect you're right. But, remember that Bonds was a first-ballot Hall of Famer even before he allegedly starting doping. So his HOF credentials should never be in question. And, using steroids was not technically cheating because at the time MLB did not have rules against it, which is why so many players were doing it. I think the best the Bonds haters will ever be able to accomplish against him (providing Bonds doesn't test positive from here on out) is to get some kind of notation on all records -- not just Bonds' records -- set during the "Pre-Steroid Ban" era.

You're probably right. We'll see what happens. Regardless though, the book is not evidence enough for MLB to ban Bonds and or strike his numbers from the books. Especially when they were complicit in the level of steroid use in the game. Bottom line, MLB obviously knew what was going on and they turned a blind eye because it was good for the product.
