Opie & Anthony to replace David Lee Roth?
Filed under: XM Radio Rumors Opie and Anthony

Rumor has it that Opie and Anthony are possibly replacing David Lee Roth in "multiple markets." While this definitely should be considered just a rumor I would like to point out that this is not the first time O&A would be syndicated to terrestrial radio. They did so for a short amount of time, replacing Howard Stern I might add, over a year ago.

Very interesting. This on the heals of Roth's little rant this morning about his CBS Radio bosses.

Oh great...one MORE reason to never listen to Terrestrial Radio again.
CBS will never learn.

After working on satellite radio how could someone go back to regular old FM?

sounds like ti would be an edited/cleaner version on regular radio while the unscensored show would be on xm

If they were really, really smart about it, they could make that work in a big way for XM. It would be a pain in the ass, but if they could make the censored show half-way compelling, it could really help blow the uncensored show up. XM needs to start thinking creatively to battle The King.

I bet O&A are spreading that rumor. I dont think Free FM is dumping DLR anytime soon.

i would assume so they can get fired again, but if they are on xm, everything offensive would be edited out anyway

I'm sure it wont happen anyway. It didnt work in Syracuse and CBS already fired O&A once. I dont like o&a but I'm sure they wouldn't sell out by going back to a company that fired them.

They would not be going back to cbs. They would still be working for xm which their show would be unscensored. It would than be syndicated on freefm censored to meet fcc standards.

This would be huge news in the papers. Would get exposure for xm and cbs radio. ANd I guess would put the screws to Howard and Sirius

BTW, they were not fired. They were suspended until there contracts ended. They were paid their full salaries to not work for 2 years.

It is for the people who have not switched yet who would have a better option than David Lee roth and give great promotion for both xm and cbs radio.

DICKWAD

why?

Because, in todays radio environment
they really couldn't do their show, it would be hacked up worse than when Howard was on. to hire them would show how desperate terrestrial radio is.
I predict they wouldn't last long and it
would once again prove who the king of all media truly is.
It would also give me more ammo when
I go to sternchat to fuck with the pests.
that is extremly amusing to me these days. I'm a sick Fuck

What CBS should do is cut a deal with Sirius where they can air an edited version of Howard's show every morning. That would be the smartest move for CBS Radio.

That's an interesting point, because Sirius would never allow that. They paid to get Howard exclusively.

For XM it might be different. They might not care if they had the exclusive content for these two jokers. There can't possibly be dozens of people rushing to XM to hear them the way it is now. Maybe they could use their watered-down CBS show as a commercial to bring in more subs.

Pussah might be on to something with this one.

Not sure if this belongs here... mutt, move this if you have to....

There are articles rumoring that the scourge of the virius, those 2 who i will never spell correctly, may replace DLR on CBS free FM. From what i read it would be a live show but with heavy delay from their XM show... articles are saying howard would have something to worry... but i wonder if howard has said anything about this... cause you know they will be attacking howard... my buddy allan was a big fan of theirs... and i heard their show on XM isnt great.... i last heard them on WNEW.... all it tells me CBS is desperate... i think at best they'll get a 3 share, double what DLR has now.
