It's not a mistake, it's because the cost of getting the rights to play a song on television is prohibitive. Not to mention logistically difficult, because you have to clear it with everyone that owns a piece of the song.

I have to admit though that the generic piece that they played was so horribly off that they should have just either not aired it, or waited for some better music.

I was wondering why the snapping wasnt matching up with the song......I didnt even notice the music was different from the radio version of the show.....good catch
