Opie and Anthony say it wasn't much fun when they worked at the same radio company as Howard Stern. The pair diss Howard Stern in an interview set to air at 9 tonight on the Fox News Channel's Hannity & Colmes.

Anthony claims Stern made their lives miserable at Infinity Broadcasting. He says Stern couldn't stand somebody else being successful in his city.

"The guy made our lives miserable when we worked for Infinity Broadcasting.He put a gag order on us so we couldn't talk about him. He didn't like somebody else being successful in his city, in New York. His home base. [Even though] we were in a different day part. We were doing afternoons, he was doing mornings", Anthony is quoted as saying during the interview.

During the interview, Opie claimed they obtained Stern's chair when he departed Infinity, and they got rid of it, because they didn't want to sit in it.

The only difference is Stern had higher ratings than Imus at the time, and them 2 didn't have a fraction of Howard's audience when they worked together at Infinity.

I have listened to my local guys (WRIF Detroit) off & on for 10 years or so, never heard them mention Howard once, never tried to creat a "rivalry," just your standard [insert name here] & [insert name here] drive-time hack clone show with a lot of local flavor, a little more sports-heavy than your usual. The result was a pretty decent show, and actually one of the few major market morning shows that was able to beat Howard head-to-head. Haven't heard them much since 1-9-06, but last I checked they were still kicking ass in The D. When will the others learn - trying to be like Howard, drawing attention to Howard, and bashing Howard will only hurt you.

This morning was the first morning since they have been back on 92.3 that they did not mention Howard directly. EVERY Day they bring him up! They didnt mention him this morning but the bit I heard was them trying to make a guy with Turrets read a news piece. He sounded just like John the stutterer...so why they didnt mention him, they directly ripped him off.

also about the chair that is completely NOT TRUE.....when i did the SFRT a few times we got a tour of the studio and i walked by sterns console and asked about the chair cuz it looks so old and beatup......i was told by stern staff that has been with howie for many years that, that chair has been with howard for over 20+ years and that he loves it and it has always been with him

because it was a done issue this occurred in 1999.... realize that o/a's actions caused many people to lose their jobs.. stations lost revenue and went out of business and in NY at least 5 show hosts lost their jobs due to o/a's actions... howard did not do that to anyone... the jobs/ stations being lost now are CBS's fault since howard gave them 14 months to prepare for this time....

Very true. But they didn't get fired on purpose. They were pushing the envelope and didn't know where to stop. Ron and Fez lost their jobs because of the incident but don't hold a grudge.

The other shows that were dropped were dropped because they couldn't carry the station. O&A was carrying everyone on their backs. If they were good, they would still have jobs.

As far as the stations, they should have grown a set of balls and told the Catholic League to go Fukk themselves. They fired them out of fear. And that's why they lost the revenue.

So now they admit that in fact they had no career options? For the last two years, they've been lying and said that Infinity trapped them in their contract because Howard was afraid of them. Now the truth comes out. Exactly as I've always said, O&A were the ones that didn't want out of the contract because they didn't want to go to east bumfuck, and even XM barely existed. Of course they wanted the remainder of their fat contracts that they could never hope to replace.

i think steve kingston krock's old program director was worse. He threatened musical guests from going on there show or risk not appearing at krock concerts or being played on krock. If they went to there show. Also included regualr guests like Vince Mcahon and matt and trey.

Agreed. And I have said before that I listen to them, so I feel like I can speak semi-intelligently about Opie: he's really kind of bitter and jealous. Another time he was talking about how he was looking at an apartment in Howard's building, and wouldn't THAT be so great for him to live there. And of course, the time he said if he saw Howard running in the park again (I guess he saw him there once) he would punch him in the face.

The FTC is investigating XM concerning sub numbers. They may have to revise their sub numbers to NOT include parked cars and the huge number of free subs.
