Decided to go out to the Dirt Track at Lowes and watch the World of Outlaws. I've always been a pavement guy, so it was different for me. Had a good time and saw some big wrecks. Biggest fireworks were during prerace when a guy got out of one of the packer cars after wrecking and got hit by another car. Had to be airlifted out. The track had lots of empty seats. We took two on a random row in turn 1 and a guy and his son happened to have those two seats, so we moved down. What was even crazier was who the guy was. My buddy recognized him right away, but I didn't. Robbie Rizer, crew chief for the 17, Matt Kennseth. He was a real nice guy and talked racing with us and other guys around. Not a 17 fan, but Robbie was cool to hand with for a night. 5hradaylistener 05-25-2006, 09:17 PM Racin on dirt is is the best to me as far as round track racin goes. Like Lasker says dirt is for racin pavement is for gettin there.. Kenseth won the pole for the Busch race.... jlohlinger 05-25-2006, 09:23 PM There's part of me that misses going to the dirt tracks every weekend... then there's the other part that's glad I'm not shitting mud all week... :crapper: smokebomb 05-25-2006, 10:29 PM My buddy grew up on dirt racing. His dad ran the wingless cars out in Arizona when he was a kid. He said last night that there would never have been empty seats in AZ like ther were last night at Charlotte. Not sure why it never took off in the South like other places. Guess NASCAR has always been to dominate round these parts. slayerized 05-26-2006, 07:14 AM did smoke qual 32nd? for the busch or for sunday's race? asrai 05-26-2006, 08:23 AM did smoke qual 32nd? for the busch or for sunday's race?
