Let's get down to business.
Jeremy Horn Vs. Chael Sonnen
Horn has beat him twice and I think he's gonna make it three in a row.
Alessio Sakara Vs. Dean Lister
I'm on the fence, but for the hell of it, I'm taking Sakara as the dog. This ain't Abu Dhabi.
Melvin Guillard Vs. Rick Davis
Guillard based on two things: Davius' nickname is "The Flying Squirrel" and he only has 4 pro fights.
Diego Sanchez Vs. John Alessio
Upset time. Alessio!!!!
Mike Swick Vs. Joe Riggs
I'm going with Diesel. Swick's only loss is to Leben and Diesel is from the same mold only stronger. Swick throws the hands straight down the middle. I see him eating a looping overhand counter and then it's ground n' pound time.
Brandon Vera Vs. Assuerio Silva
Toughest fight to pick in my opinion. I'm taking Vera. Silva hung with Sylvia but for those in the know, Sylvia had a stomach bug and was literally crapping his pants in that fight.
Matt Hughes Vs. Royce Gracie
I would LOVE to be wrong on thsi one but I say Hughes. Too young, too strong and too experienced. Gracie has fought 5 times in the last 6 years. Not good.

Here are my picks:
-Horn over Sonnen via 2nd Round Submission
-Lister over Sakara via Decision
-Guillard over Davis via 1st Round TKO
-Sanchez over Alessio via 3rd Round TKO
-Riggs over Swick via Decision
-Vera over Silva via 2nd round TKO
-Hughes over Gracie via Decision
FYI: I'm actually betting on Gracie. I locked it in at about +315, so I think it's a good bet for Royce. Even though I think Hughes will win, Royce has to be better than 24% likely to catch Hughes making a mistake. We'll see, though. I just hope the crowd doesn't get restless if the fight is on the mat or against the cage for extended periods of time.

good picks... good read...
I got the following:
Jeremy Horn Vs. Chael Sonnen
too big an opportunity for horn to blow, not a title fight so he'll shine... I see him winning a decision and like you said, he's already beat him twice and it's not like horn is getting worse... doubt fight will make it to ppv though...
Alessio Sakara Vs. Dean Lister
pounding lister hard at the books on this one... praying for some late money on sakara which the audience knows better... would love to lay a huge chunk on lister as near as even as possible... I think lister has the takedown game for mma to avoid sakara's shots and the set ups to catch sakara in a leglock or sub... I'm only worried about frequent stand ups...
Melvin Guillard Vs. Rick Davis
never seen davis, but appears to be a typical TUF build up fight which the favs win big time... guillard is -500.. nuff said..
Diego Sanchez Vs. John Alessio
I just don't see sanchez going down to this caliber of fighter... if he loses, I think it's to a top dawg... all reports are that he's in great shape and will probably ground out a TKO...
Mike Swick Vs. Joe Riggs
gut tells me to pick swick, that he will work in a sub, but seems a lot of "smart" money is betting down riggs... at the value he opened up on +170, I'd definetely take him, but he's down to +100 now, so the value's really gone... game time decision... and who knows what the weight loss will do to riggs... cutting 30 pounds ain't no joke.. going with gut: swick by sub late from riggs gassing out
Brandon Vera Vs. Assuerio Silva
pretty big on vera with this one... silva is tough but unless he catches vera with a bomb, I don't see him controlling the fight or winning the majority of the stand ups or scrambles.. vera has too many skills and physical attributes, in my opinion...
Matt Hughes Vs. Royce Gracie
like you said, I'd love to be wrong and refuse to bet it cause if I bet on royce, I'm betting with my heart and if I bet on hughes, I'm voting against an icon... I think royce will be on his back 90% of the fight unable to work anything from there... I look for a pretty anti-climatic ground and pound win for hughes... really hope I'm wrong...
good luck, fellas..

looks like everyone did OK with the favs playing out again... made a killing on lister... was some late money on swick that took riggs' value away and worked out well for me since gun to head, I thought swick would take it...
really disappointed with the gracie fight... reminded me of being a noob in BJJ class..
any ways, hoping AA gets bet down as I'd love to lay a good number on him over sylvia for the rubber match...
what I'm really waiting for though is babalu over chuck... have a good feeling the public is gonna be all over chuck and babalu's value is gonna be through the roof...
some great pride cards coming up too.. great summer for mma..

Well I had a little dough on Alessio as the dog and he wasn't too far off from pulling it out. If Alessio didn't wind up carrying Diego around like Luke Skywalker training with Yoda on his back, Alessio would have won. I made a little of that money back with my Swick bet (yes, I changed my mind and it paid). The main event was what I expected only faster. It was kind of depressing to be honest with you. As far as summer MMA goes, I've got a great WFA card happening right here in my back yard at the old. The WFA has put together a great card at the old Great Western Forum.
Bas Rutten vs. Kimo
Rampage vs. Matt Lindland
Ricco Rodriguez vs. Ron Waterman
Lyoto Machida vs. Vernon White
IVan Salaverry vs. Art Santore
I'm a huge Bas fan so I may spring for tix just to see his return match.

cutter... that WFA card should be incredibly entertaining... am hoping there are some lines on it.. would love for bas to be bettable... expect him to walk through kimo..
the rampage vs lindland fight is the one I am looking most foward to... very interesting match up though maybe not as action packed as most fans would like...
I look for lindland to eek out a decision by his takedowns alone though I can not see him submitting rampage or stopping him...
will have to give us a detailed report of the night.. should be great..

Roger that. If I wind up checking it out live I will give you the full report. I heard it was also going to be on PPV though I am not sure if there will be a broadcast delay. The Forum is so close to me that I really should get off my ass and support live MMA.
