im not going to watch ANYTHING sports that in not in HD
i just can't stand that in this day and age the nationaly televised event would be shown all grainy and shit. For those who have HD TV's know what im talking about.

I am also about to quit watching EVERYTHING on tv that is not in HD. Since all Yankee games are now in HD, i really dont even need to watch anything else. i gotta get my 2-3 hours a day to listen to howard

I feel ya. I don't understand how Fox can show EVERY NASCAR race in HD, yet ABC can't show (arguably) THE BIGGEST race in the world in HD.

Congrats to Sam Hornish, Jr.

I must have been watching a different race.

All I saw was a prime example of how Fox Sports has bypassed ABC in every aspect of sports coverage. Now I only watched the second half of the race but it was a borefest. And the announcers were complete tools.

Announcer #1 "This is the most exicting Indy 500 ever"
Me: Damn there must have been some boring ass races in years past.

Announcer #2 "This is the most excited ive ever been in my life"
Me: Dude you must live a boring ass life.

Thes guys make Waltrip seem interesting and knowledgeable.

I really liked how they continually kept claiming over and over again that Danica kept having to come in earlier than everyone else because she "wasnt getting as good of fuel mileage as the rest of the race" They must have said it 15 times. Then when they actually talk to her it turns out she was coming in early because she kept burning tires. You could hear the dull thud in the booth as they looked at each other like morons. Mabye if they spent a little less time showing Letterman and kissing the asses of every team owner they might get a little more time to send someone down to the pits to get the real info. Christ even Bubbas buddy Matty could have gotten that info. But then again that would have cut into the 975th repeat of the guy pulling out of the pit with the fuel line attached.

I was glad to see that the 40 year old "little Al" wrecked and was out of the race. I have always thought he was a tool ever since he was 2 laps down and blantantly blocked the guy in third for several laps so his Dad could win years ago. Hes the reason they have blocking rules.

I don't know how anyone can follow Indy. You can't tell which car is which and the pit stops suck. Each guy changes 1 tire and takes off 1 nut.

Yeah, Rusty Wallace was a bit over the top in his announcing. The word on the street is that he's only doing the IRL this season so he can work NASCAR next season when they switch from NBC to ABC.

As for Danica, she is ABC's meal ticket. That's why they talked about her so much. They completely ignored other stories. I had to wait until the next day to find out why Bryan Herta went almost 10 laps down very early in the race (his crew had to change his entire rear wing). Sheesh!

im not a race fan for either irl or nascar but i go to the indy500 every year and theres nothing like the experience of being there with 400k+ people. even the night befor theres so many people at the track , roughly 200k, they shut down georgetown road the front of the track and its great time. it was though hot as hell and watchin the rerun later at the bar was kinda boring. but being there is sumthing different. had to drink fast cause beer would get warm fast so made for a fun day.

I dont begrudge tham at all for focusing a lot of attention on her. Shes the first female out there and on top of that shes hot. But if she is so important you would think they would spend 10 seconds getting thier facts straight.
