I Just got home from seeing the NHRA Summer Nationals at Heartland Motor Speedway in Topeka KS. I tell you what, Mopar has them one hell of a little team! Scelzi straight smoked the little bitch racing him in his first heat. All of the Mopar cars wond hands down, no problem. One exceptionon a count of a DQ for early start. THis was my first NHRA race, but after today, it for sure will not be my last. Can't wait for more of this shit. It was AWESOME!!! John Force set a track record. Went something like 310 MPH and did the 1/4 mi. in like a little under 4 sec.!!! It was SICK!!!!

I miss Gary Scelzi being on the show. He might call in more if they didn't give him so much shit. I saw Gary race in Vegas and he made it farther than Bubba gave him credit for.

I do have to admit the conversation with Ron Capps was good radio.

There was a lot of beer involved. That's about the biggest detail that I left out.

Man that sounds awesome, I have been out to Firebird here in Phoenix several times, but never for an NHRA event. The next time they are here, I want to go out there, it sounds like a blast!

Scelzi is a really good guy. I have met him a couple times at Pamona , he is really cool.
Capps ended up winning that race against Force in the final. Maybe Bubba can get one of them on the phone this week.

I would have stayed for the actual race, but the guy I went with drove, and he didn't want to wait through 3 hours of no racing for it. So, I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. I wanted to weasel my way into the pits and see Force and Scelzi, but he would have none of it. However, he did take me to Hooters and bought me Lunch, beers, and a t-shirt to make up for leaving early.
