View Full Version : Clemens returns to MLB with Astros
gradysfalcon 05-30-2006, 03:43 PM Newsday is reporting that Roger Clemens (P) Hou has signed a one-year deal with the Astros. The deal is reportedly worth $3.5 million per month, which would add up to about $10.5 million, depending on when he returns to action. An announcement is expected as soon as today. Clemens, who went 13-8 with a 1.87 ERA last year, turns 44 in August.
jr1074 05-30-2006, 03:45 PM Deal hasn't happened yet. Just saw on ESPN.
EastBayLoon 05-30-2006, 04:28 PM He was always going to sign with them.
Why would he go anywhere else? Houston will let him pitch when he wants on the schedule he wants and its close to home.
Good sign for clemens and the astros.
The Truth 05-30-2006, 04:40 PM Would have made a better story if he ended his career with the Sox.
I'll guarentee that the Astros will bring up Roger's son in September because of this.
FenwayPhil 05-30-2006, 05:33 PM DAMN!! I just got home to read this thread. This has deeply ruined my night. Why the hell didnt he just sign with the Sox and make me happy!!
TOKER 05-30-2006, 05:42 PM No deal yet-just rumor at this point but it looks good for Houston

Because you are pethetic!
Such a sad statement to say of yourself. No one would do anything for you, so commit suicide. :suicide:
WillowGlen 05-31-2006, 02:49 PM $22 Million for the rest of the season. Nice work if you can get it.
bbo626 05-31-2006, 02:52 PM I guess his steroid suspension is over

Either that or he can still pitch without them and not embarrass himself.
Why would Sox fans even think there was a chance he'd sign with them, especially after how he was treated when he left.
Even Yankee fans knew there was no chance Clemens would leave Houston.
dcjispimp 05-31-2006, 07:59 PM Way more money then he's worth. Shocking he is re-signing.

no bullshit, the Rocket better go 10-0 with that ERA he had last year and get their asses to the World Series again for all that bread he's getting.
Pokeyrees3e 06-03-2006, 02:58 PM Yeah, wouldn't it be funny that after all the fuss people through because of him, if Clemens had a losing record and Houston didn't make the playoffs. :D
