Thanks once again Vinnie & Sal!!! We had a great time!
Being at the show and having such awesome seats was so neat and as if that wasn't enough, we hooked up with this other couple who were also in the VIP CBS section they had gotten their tickets from a charity auction. Included in the package they won for their bid was a backstage tour after the show.

We overheard the other couple talking to someone that works for the show and asking about their tour. They were told that after the show a lady would meet up with them and give them the tour and they would be allowed to take pictures. They mentioned that the didn't have a camera. I heard them say that and decided to be bold and said, "hey, we have a camera, you could say we are with you and then we will take pictures and we can email them to you!" They took us up on the offer and we wound up going up on stage and hitting the green room after the show. It was pretty cool to sit at Dave's desk. We ran into a girl that was in one of the skits (Will it Float?) she was dressed up in this sexy outfit that had a metal plate on the front of it and she was using this grinding tool to press up against it - creating sparks that were shooting off of her! It was cool looking! Anyway, she was with Biff, one of the producers of the show, he is also very often included in the skits they do on the show. You'll see a picture of us with the two of them below when Mutt posts the pictures.
Brendan Fraser was on the show promoting his new movie, "The Quiet American". The Kids in the Hall were there (all of them) and Bonnie Ratty. It was a cool show and very funny. Dave came out and talked to the audience before the show and told some jokes, what a nice guy. The band was awesome! Paul Shaffer is a cool dude! The show will air tonight at 11:30. If you are interested in seeing the spark chick!
After the show we got in the car and took a ride to the Village. We had a delicious dinner at the Greenwich Village Bistro. Jeff had Paella and I had Tilapia. So good! They had a lovely jazz trio playing. On the way back to the car, Jeff bought me two gorgeous bouquets of tulips! Then we hopped into the car and took the ride home through the snow storm!
Here are a few pics. Mutt will post the rest when he gets home. He is out plowing snow right now (in a bobcat, the poor thing).

Did you guys get a chance to meet Kids in the Hall?
OK, so these aren't Stern pics, but I thought I'd post them anyway. If it wasn't for the site and our online friends, we wouldn't have gotten the tickets. I looked around for Vinnie so I could thank him in person, but never saw him. Thanks once again!

Here we are on stage with the couple who hooked us up and their sons. This Sadam pic was used during the show while one of the crew yelled about the infaldel american scum. His lines were still scrolling on the telepromter in front of us. The door behind us opened to a green screen. Biff opened it during the show to check on the weather. They put in a polar bear walking in the snow adn he ran away yelling "Holy crap! A giant monkey! Run for your lives!"

Here we are in the green room.

We drank bottle water out of the Green Room fridge like celebs. There was a big bag of chocolate in there too, just kidding. The Stern Show Green Room was much bigger, but this was more plush. The entire backstage was small for that matter. It must be tough working there as a stage hand. Not much room for anything. From the audience, you'd never know. They pull it off beautifully.

Biff & grinder girl posed for a pic with us. They were the only ones on the show that we ran into backstage. Paul Schaffer was still onstage when we climbed up, but we didn't get a chance to get a photo with him because they were still filming offstage and the flash would haved screwed it up.

I wish i had a pencil to bang on the desk when I was inteviewing her. :)
We didn't meet any of the celebs. I was excited that the Kids in the Hall were going to be on the show, but I was disappointed in their appearance. They just did a recycled skit and left. Dave didn't even talk to them. I like Dave's show but I'm not what you would call a huge fan. I knew it was going to be a fun night, but I didn't real;ize just how cool it was going to be until they opened the door and I saw the set. I was suddendly star struck. It was just plain cool to be there and when Dave and the band came out, it was very exciting. Things went to a whole other level of coolness when we got to sit at Dave's desk.
After we left, we went out front to get pics of the sign. a nice lady offered to take the photo for us. Yeah right, and could you hold my wallet for me too?

Well, all I gotta say is that it helps to have friends in high places. If it wasn't for you Joey, we wouldn't know any of these people. Thank you for that. You are a good friend and we really appreciate everything you have done for us. I count it an honor and a privilage to know you. xoxoxo
