I just got back from RadioShack, where I picked up the Starmate Replay Boombox for $89.99 (I had a $10 coupon which anyone can get at any other local RadioShack other than the one where you want to use it) and I just got it home and hooked it up.
RadioShack had a deal going where you can get 5 packs of batteries for $10, so I obviously picked up "D" batteries since the unit uses 8 at a time.
I set everything up. including the super durable feeling antenna which isn't quite as rigid as those hold with plug&play units. Popped in the batteries, and VIOLA! my Starmate Replay lit right up and started blasting out beats.
The coolest thing about this about 12"x8" boombox is that it has an AUX jack on the front of it, allowing you to use a double ended headphone jack tonnect your ipod or walkman (loser) should you choose. It's the perfect unit for anyone with a Starmate Replay and a beachhouse... can't wait till July 4th.
I can't attest for it's durability yet, but RadioShack also offered a service plan in which they will reimburse you for 1 or 2 years for the original price of the unit for $11 a year... well worth it
Hope this was useful for those on the fence about buying it. You should definately look in the sales circular this weekend and go to any Radioshack in your area and ask about coupons, they usually have them
later people!
