Gary Matthews Jr.- One of the best robberies ever maybe.

I'm a fan of the Sox, so call me biased, but this catch by Coco has to be in the running.

Both are great, I couldn't pick one over the other.

Anyone have that video of Ichiro, I believe from last year. The guy climbs the wall like a monkey, hangs up there for a few seconds and robs a home run.

One of the craziest chinese-acrobat catches I've ever seen.

Exactly, it doesn't seem as exciting now though.

Especially when held up to that Matthews catch.

agreed, I withdraw my Ichiro nomination.

Joe Morgan said Matthews' catch is the greatest he's ever seen.

I'd vote for this catch by Jim Edmonds.

Jim Edmonds Catch, June 10, 1997

"Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City. Top of the fifth inning. Two men on, tie score. David Howard at the plate. Edmonds, in center field for Anaheim, was playing shallow. Howard lined a shot to straightaway center. Edmonds turned his back and took off running, then dove, fully extending his body horizontal to the ground, and caught the ball over his shoulder. He landed on the warning track, a few feet from the wall.

"That was one of the greatest plays ever," veteran umpire Dave Phillips told the Kansas City Star. "That made Willie Mays' play look routine." "

I am not sure. That's a hell of a catch, but I think the Aaron Rowand catch tops it because of the fact that he held on to the ball afterwards despite hitting the wall face first:

Some great catches in the posted links, so thanks for sharing.

Not to be wishy-washy but all are fantastic catches. I am partial to Coco's because I am a Red Sox fan. But I would like to see Ichiro do that one again this year! Nice!
