View Full Version : Howard saying "87% are happy with the service"
bunit 08-23-2006, 06:14 PM Anyone else hear Howard say that on today's show?
I think thats the biggest load of bullshit I heard in a long time. I think the only people who were polled for this survey are the ones that actually work for HTV.
conspire 08-23-2006, 07:27 PM I disagree. I don't think 87% is an accurate sample of subscribers. They sure as hell didn't ask me ;)
richlk8177 08-23-2006, 07:28 PM I took a few email surveys that were sent to me
How did they poll the people? I was never contacted.
spreedogg 08-23-2006, 08:18 PM I will not be happy till I see ITS JUST WRONG
ianwaters 08-23-2006, 08:20 PM It must have been a lot lower than 87% because If I know Howard (and I don't personally of course) He would never give himself a "B" instead of an "A+++". There is a reason why there is zero entertainment buzz on the channel and that is because the channel lacks in the creativity and uniquness of The Howard Stern Radio Show. That is why I am no longer a subscriber.
lex444 08-23-2006, 08:25 PM Im Happy~ but it could still be SOOO much better!! my biggest complaint is that mondays daily show doesnt go up till wednesday- also the howard.tv website is now gone

tahts a bullshit stat... how buot when the F-machine girls ep came out, the flood of calls that wouldnt be put through. how bout the countless people on this board that have been complaining and emailing the show... why is it that there is not a single bad HTV call put through?
the service is at best a C- for how much content they have. fuckin Ferrah Fawcet interviews? fuck that. where is Jeff Stuck On You that was promised to us in DECEMBER???
Cap420 08-24-2006, 01:08 AM I could be wrong, but I don't think Howard is to blame for the numbers he announced. Doug, or someone from HTV probably gave them to him to read.
There's obviously a shit load more people that are pissed then pleased with HTV at this point....just look around.
Those numbers are total bullshit. I took a survey a few weeks back, but it didn't ask me anything specific...it just asked what kind of episodes I like, what my favorite shows are, etc.
So yeah, total bullshit numbers...probably thanks to Doug though.
Howard seems totally clueless whenever he talks about HTV (saying episodes are up way before they are scheduled to be, etc.) I doubt he knows what's going on.
But then again, I could be wrong.
Being a Howard fan though, it's very shitty to know that people are being cock-blocked from saying negative shit about HTV on the air.
That REALLY needs to change ASAP.
SteelRat 08-24-2006, 03:22 AM They had a third-party survey company do the study. What you're not accounting for is that your average subscriber is not 1/10th as anal and bitch-prone as people who post on message boards. Most people likely just think it's cool to have an on demand selection of Howard shows without the blurring, and most of the complaints that are posted here regularly would never occur to most people.

how do you know who did the study?
I believe SFN is a reasonably accurate model of Howards audience. in general those on SFN are not prone to bitching, they're just prone to discussion. the average sirius subsriber who signed up for howard isnt going to bitch on sfn when howard goes on a long vacation but if someone sat him in a focus group and asked him what his biggest complaint about sirius he would say vacations.
the comments in this section indicate that there are major problems with audience satisfaction. there is not way in hell 87% came from any kind of a legitamate study.
SteelRat 08-24-2006, 09:57 PM how do you know who did the study?
Because I answered the survey, and it was all done on the website of a marketing research company.

This site represents a very small, hyperscrutinizing percentage of Howard's overall audience. Just like only a tiny portion of a radio show's audience ever calls in, a tiny portion goes and registers on a website to talk about it. You, being both are even more atypical. ;)

and any focus group is made up of a small fraction of the market. by no means is SFN a scientific model of the audience but we are not that out of whack with the average listener. we are just are passionate enough to post about what we like and dislike about the show. and by the way i would say that those who are willing to pay monthly for howard tv are more than casual howard stern fans.
i would love to know what percent of this years subsribers ended up cancelling the service. that would give us an accurate picture about how people really feel about howard tv. ive noticed that the updates are getting better this month but this whole year they have been terrible with adding the content that we were promised.
Jaytool30 08-25-2006, 02:54 PM So 87% percent of the subscribers like seeing richard and sals dumb gay shit?? Fuck that its bullshit, no more dick, period.
duffiskool 08-25-2006, 09:23 PM I wasnt contacted either :P Im not, not happy.. I think it could be alot better...they should show things we havent seen from KROCK instead of showing repeats
bethhasfakeboob 08-26-2006, 01:23 PM I was polled for a survey but, I don't remember the specific question that asked if I was happy with the channel. They had a number of questions that they probably just summized from. If they asked me if I like the channel I would say "yes", but if they asked me if I was satisfied or happy with the content, I would say "no". It's better than NO HTV, but it could be oh so much better.

I thought howard wasn't about the money, but it seems that since he joined sirius he became a real fucking Jew, he just cares about the money. Have you notice how many times he plugs that stupid howard tv on demand, I am pretty sure is over fifty times...it is ridiculous, but he never announces when he is gonna take a week vacations, which is every other month!!!
Alex Dragon 08-26-2006, 07:58 PM I can believe that 87% of the people surveyed could be happy with HTV. I'm happy with it for the most part. Compared to what we got on E! it's great. It's great to be able to turn on the tv and watch a long list of shows whenever you want with no censors and no commericals. My only complaint I wish they'd roll out some of the old E! shows at a faster pace and air some of the really good ones. Some of the E! shows they put on I wonder why they picked certain ones.
Some weeks can be kinda slim for new content because Howard is on vaction so much and some days they just don't have guests or do anything really interesting visually.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied but there's room for improvement. I think things will get better in the up coming months since they've added more people on staff to shoot more orginal programming.
bunit 08-26-2006, 09:27 PM but he never announces when he is gonna take a week vacations, which is every other month!!!
Every other week is more like it
McBakes 08-26-2006, 09:46 PM i love thie HTV service. fully worth the money. at least 5 hours of brand new stuff every week? plus old shows sprinkled in? i think it s phenominal, and a HUGE step in the right direction for all things ondemand.

youre upset because howard cares about money? what are you nine? there is nothing wrong with howard wanting to do the right thing by himself and everyone else who has invested their own time and money supporting him.
and howard does announce his vacations dickus. GO BACK TO YOUR HOME ON WHORE ISLAND!!!
redjack99 08-27-2006, 04:34 PM Don't count me in the "87%". I have had nothing but problems with Rogers and HSOD. The content (if and when they decide to upload it) is fine. But the unpredictable nature of the service is what aggravates me. The service needs to update daily. No excuses. Where I live we are lucky to get an update twice a month. Now the whole system is shut down with no estimated date for updates. What a complete load of shite. Why would you offer a service that you can not deliver? Oh yeah, for the $17 a month that's right. Assholes. Get daily updates and maybe throw up the old Son of a Beach episodes and I'll be happy to reinstate my subscription. Until then I'll keep my money and download any episodes I want for free.
hey dick head I am upset because he keeps talking about howard tv, like he needed more subscribers to make more money........ when HTV isn't that good. It seems like you are one of those stupid ass bumbs that belive everything he says
lex444 08-27-2006, 08:01 PM FLak go back the clones
DenisC 08-27-2006, 08:02 PM I disagree. I don't think 87% is an accurate sample of subscribers. They sure as hell didn't ask me ;)
I missed that one too!I think they slck like all hell! They take a week to drop a new show ,and have 10 yrs. of material to draw from! It's just basic live feed with the little pop-ups reminding you who you are watching!!!!
This should be good this week...with another "Howard is on vacation so here's some shit from 2004 you may have only seen 4 times". They should be breakin' their asses over their getting up to date!!!-------------------NO MORE BULLSHIT! no really NO MORE BULLSHIT! Right!
artistbehr 08-27-2006, 08:13 PM I'm not one to normally say something like this but it looks like I'll be dropping Howard TV from my cable service. It just isn't worth $15 a month.
I'm a long time Howard listener but I was never a fan of the E show and the past few months of watching Howard TV have reminded me why: it's the same dull stuff over and over again. Occasionally something brilliant like the "waxing for Artie roast tickets" will come along but too often it's just bimbos; dull, C level celebrities; and sybian rides.
I must be in that 13% that isn't satisfied. Sorry Howard, I love ya but your TV channel sucks.
vegas_booey 08-28-2006, 09:12 PM Overall, I think it is a good service for everyone to at least try for a few months. For me, I found it to not be worth $14 a month as there was not enough programming on it to justify the cost. I'll probably sign up again around Christmas when most of the items are new.
MAGUSofHELLVIEW 08-29-2006, 03:51 PM howard clearly doesnt know wtf is on HTV.... he says stuff is on there that isnt... he says shows are in HD.. they arent.......... its too bad cause theres a lot of great shit that could be on there that isnt
dj_stouty 08-30-2006, 09:06 AM I'm a new subscriber...and I love it so far...
Howard TV isn't that much more than the monthly fee I pay for Showtime and HBO, and I only watch one show on each of those channels (Entourage and Weeds). AND I only get 30 minutes a week of new content from those shows...
At least with Howard, I get hours of new stuff a month.
No brainer here...
Dragonblink 08-31-2006, 02:02 PM I certainly wasnt asked,I think HOD sucks,I will wait about a month or two then cancel if there is no improvement.Wheres the ass?
They must just be polling their close friends, I know I haven't heard one person say they're totally satisfied. You know people there are reading this too & wont do a damn thing about any of our complaints.
ashey larry 04-14-2007, 08:44 AM I am calling shannigans.
m0tleyfan 04-19-2007, 11:59 AM i'm very happy but it still could be better, you can take a survey if u register with indemand they send it to you via email
Froggy 04-19-2007, 12:27 PM many of those types of surveys discard or exclude the extreme responses for the analysis, so if your response was 100% negative it probably wasn't included in the sample analyzed.
also I've noticed that large companies usually patronize market research agencies whose results tend to support the decisions made before the study is commissioned. the survey is used to legitimize what management believes the results should be. why would a manager allocate funds to pay for an analysis that shows his dept is fucking up? if focus group results show that management is screwing up, the market research people must be at fault and need to be replaced.
eg. three times a year we issue an employee poll to measure state of the work environment. everyone who responds negatively seems to find their job function relocated to Mumbai, so nobody ever puts anything negative on the poll. management uses the poll result to demonstrate that they're doing everything right.
fjackieftimmy 04-20-2007, 12:49 AM Bigfoots special is up!!!!! Horrible it is. Luckily Howard has countless shills who will continue to call in to let everyone know how great the special is. Goodstein's production isn't bad.... it's horrific. Wasn't the day in the life of Riley taped about a year ago? Pathetic.
F HTV

m0tleyfan 04-20-2007, 11:33 AM i don't see why any1 would make it 100% negitive.no matter what atleast we get shows it's better then 0 shows
