As a die hard Jets fan, I hate to admit it, but I think we're going to suck this year. At the end of last season, I thought we were doomed for years to come. We had a horrendous offense and were stuck with Pennington's contract. But, I thought we had an outsanding off season with drafting the 2 o-linemen and re-working Pennington's deal. I still think we're going to suck this year. But, at least we'll get some good experience for our rookie head coach and rookie o-linemen. That being said, the Titans suck also and we could beat them in week 1.

We're definitely bad enough to land one of the top four picks. But, if you look at how many bad teams there are in the league, we could have a crappy season and still only get the 6th or 7th pick. The only loseable games for The Jets would be against NE, Chicago, and Minnesota. They have a great chance in all the other games, but they have to beat the lousy teams, which is something they have done.

I totally understand if panther fans give me shit, because most of the sports bars around here are panthers bars full of their fans, however the day in question there were 2-3 pats fans at that particular bar, being very loud and obnoxious, much louder than the 50 or so panther fans there watching the game. I wasn't trying to sound like a bitch, I just was making an observation that the pats fans were dicks, which they were. As stated before, had the jets been playing the pats next week, sure talk some shit about how bad they are gonna beat us, I like that, that is trash talking, but to cheer another team is bullshit. The only time it is acceptable to cheer for another team like in the above scenario, is if there are playoff implications involved, which there were not.

You're dealing with fans of 'Second City Mentality' and that's just how it is. They basically don't just sheer for their team, they cheer for 29 baseball teams, etc. And you can be pretty successful when you do that because, chances are, one of their many teams, will win it all.

I love how after pennington has a bad game everyone wants to talk shit about him, yet when he pulls off miracle wins, and plays great these same people praise him. Truth is, penny is an above average QB with a tendancy to over analyze the game. It has been said many times by several people that have coached and played with him that he is his own worse critic. In the clevland game he sucked bad, however I wouldn't go so far as to say the jets have a shit quarterback as you guys are saying. Hell even fucking tom brady and peyton manning have a bad game at least once or twice a year.

The problems the jets are facing this year don't even involve the qb position. The lack of running game has been the biggest offensive issue so far, and I am praying the washington will take care of that, or at least houston will when he heals up. The second and probably most crucial problem we are having is the defensive line. D-rob has been getting better, however I still feel like we got ripped off drafting this guy, he has never produced like the jets needed him to. Ellis is a fucking waste of space, he was supposed to be the rock on the line, and take over after they traded john abraham to the falcons, yet something happened and he is about as mediocre as you can get right now. Bobby hamilton is past his prime, and so is kimo.

I really hope we prove the critics wrong and pull out a wildcard playoff run this year, however if we don't then I pray we lose the rest of our games. We need another strong draft this coming year, and we need to cut the entire d-line loose. I hope between free agency and the draft we will be a title contender next season.

Regardless of the outcome of this or any season I am still going to be behind my boys 100%.

We have a better chance than any other new york team right now, and I think you all know it's true as well. Pennington put up a career day against the vikings, and not one single positive comment from any of you. I was as upset as anyone after the bills game, as you could tell from my response above, however I agree with mikeq1023, that regardless of what happens from here on in, we have exceeded everyones expectations this year. I am sticking to my guns that we will be title contenders next season definitly, and to all you doubters, kiss my ass! :D

The Jets are building a nice team starting with the O-line. I would not be surprised to see them win a playoff game this year. How many picks do the Jets have in next years draft(say first 6 rounds)?

I messed around with some playoff scenarios if a disaster happens and the Pats lose the last 2 games and here's what I'm seeing:

* If Jets win out:
Indy and SD as the byes @ 13-3
Wild Card games would be: Pats (10-6) @ Baltimore (12-4) and Denver (10-6) @ Jets (10-6)

* If Jets split last 2 games:
Indy and SD as the byes @ 13-3
WC games: Denver (10-6) @ Pats (10-6) and Cincy (9-7) @ Baltimore (12-4)

It looks like 10 wins at least gets into playoffs so yesterday's win was key. That Jets win in Minnesota was huge for them = they still look alive and well in the Division. If they win in South Beach, they're definitely finishing 10-6 with Oakland at home in the last game. Mangini's got to be AFC Coach of the Year.

Miami will be tougher than most people expect. I have never seen a jets vs phins game that didn't go a little crazy. I still expect us to win, but not like we did vs the vikes. As far as oakland goes, we have been here before, last game of the season vs the raiders, I imagine it will be another crazy game too. Not really sure how many picks we got this coming draft. We should have at least 6, I don't think we traded any of them away. it really don't matter anyway, most picks past round 4-5 are shit anyway. Oh and yeah I know there are exceptions to that!

This playoff scenerio is so simple! The Jets win in Miami tonight they will make the playoffs. Oakland will roll over for The Jets on New Years Eve in The Meadowlands. I think The Jets can do it!! :)

I will give you that Oakland has a good defense, but there offense is pathetic. The Jets will take care of Oakland and you can put that in the bank. The game in Miami tonight will be tough.
