View Full Version : Expect the FBA and WackFag boards to go crazy
davevandam 10-15-2006, 03:51 PM I had on the Jets game but wasn't paying attention when all of a sudden I hear the Greg and Tony theme song playing (the one with the weird guitar riff.) I turn to the TV and see a bunch of random Jets clips showing, and figure whatever.. but then they cut to a sign that says on it something like "WOW NY Jets Party Rock!" Then they cut back to Phil and Gumble and it was SO obvious that they (along with 99% of the country) had no idea what that montage was about. I must say that CBS is getting pretty fucking desperate...
Of course all the Fag boards will be saying, "YO!!! THEY MENTIONED US ON THE JETS GAME!!!"
sounds like a regional thing. Still pretty gay.
This is something to get excited about? I watched this whole game and missed this. I think the '99 percent of people missed it' is still a low figure

What the fuck? Who cares, you faggot
They keep trying to get ratings for that show. It's getting silly
davevandam 10-15-2006, 08:43 PM How does that sign promote their show? I'm not going to get into specifics and give a history of Greg and Tony, but trust me it does.. sort of.

Today WFNY posted a 1.3 for the Summer book. That’s lower than the 1.4 they managed in the Spring book, which was one month of DLR and two months of O&A. Actually, the past couple three-month rolling averages had gotten up to 1.5, so in order to plummet to 1.3 by adding a single month, the station must have done about a 1.0 for September which is even worse than the Winter book when DLR was on all three months.
I haven’t seen just their morning numbers reported yet, but even with TV ads, bus posters, a forced appearance on Letterman, signs at football games, and manufactured fights with other shows, they are failing to raise the profile of the station they anchor. This must be why Chernoff left the P.D. spot recently. How long before they pull a desperate publicity stunt?

they toyed with that when they had that guy fire the gun in his backyard. I'm guessing another is coming very soon

macheson 10-16-2006, 06:41 PM they must be so proud
SteelRat 10-17-2006, 02:58 AM Something very interesting happened with O&A's rating in September. You will see the press releases claiming an increase, but that is by comparing this Summer book which is all O&A to the Spring book which was 1/3 DLR. They have a 5 month record of their own, but they're still skating on the comparison.
The interesting part comes when you look at what they did in the individual months of July and August, and then note where the Summer book (July-Aug-Sept) ended up.
12+ ratings: July (2.6), Aug (2.5)/ Summer (2.2) - That's down to 17th in mornings.
Therefore: September is a 1.5 (that would be 22nd in mornings)
Persons 18-34: July (4.4), Aug (5.1)/ Summer (4.1)
Therefore: September is a 2.9
Persons 25-54: July (3.4), Aug (3.4)/ Summer (3.1)
Therefore: September is a 2.5
That's an alarming trend for them. The Summer months seemed to show them establishing a consitent level that I'm sure they planned to build from, but September shows them sharply dropping a third of their audience. That comes right on the heels of their TV commercials and Letterman appearance and everything else.
They can only hope that it's a one month blip. Pulling a single month from a book or trend is a smaller sample size, so there can be a larger margin of error. If this is a trend though, and interest has ALREADY peaked and is waning to this degree, they and the CBS suits are in deep shit.

Or when SIRIUS buys out XM, and kicks them to the curb. I can picture them groveling to Howard for a job when it's all over, and Howard will just reenact one of his best performances in Private Parts, when he scoffs (at Pig Vomit) and simply says, "Fuck you."
crap589 10-18-2006, 09:49 AM Wasnt there a guy long long time a go, a Stern fan, who rushed in to a baseball game interupting it and he held up a Howard Stern rule sign? Even their fans are hack. At least the stern fan had the balls to run in the field and stop the game and get kicked out.
