Granted, I live in the SF Bay area around Niner and Raider fans my whole life. As I grew up, I realized I never really cared for either team, essentially because it was like band-wagoning. I started watching Cunningham and White and the rest of the Eagles back in 1995 and decided I liked the direction they were going.

I've been an Eagles fan ever since. I learned about the disheartening SUPER BOWL loss back in 1980 with Jaworski and the crew and then again with McNabb. Of course, I think they won maybe a super bowl or championship or two back when the NFL first started but I am not sure off hand.

Question to Eagles fans: Do you think we can do it? Sometime in my lifetime? Or do you think we had our chance and McNabb is just not going to do it for us?

And did anyone else wanna punch Andy Reid in the face after hearing we were gonna pick up T.O. (Totally wOrthless?) from the Niners?

Going to the SuperBowl is really, for even decent teams, a "once in a decade" shot. And after the team was eviscerated, you guys are done for awhile. I'd like to think McNabb could go again [as he is a fellow Chicagoan], but I seriously doubt it. What you have is a Flutie. Really Good QB, who had a shot, but extraneous factors fucked him.

That's exactly why I wanted to punch Andy Reid in the face when I heard TO was coming. I saw how he dismantled the teamwork of the niners and said, oh shit... just when they were coming together as a team and playing really well. They made it to the championship a couple of years in a row WITHOUT him. Now they can barely win regular season games. I'm glad TO is in dallas, couldn't have happened to a better bunch of assholes... good luck Dallas fans!

You're gonna find out first hand what the niners and eagles know really well. Let him rip your QB a few times and complain to the rest of the team about how he never gets the ball, and then if he gets no sympathy from the locker room, he gets on TV and ESPN and runs his fucking mouth. That does WONDERS for your team morale!

2 years ago, though, TO may have held the spotlight and started the cancer, but you have to give him credit that he did propel the eagles ino the spotlight. He just wreaked havoc and left the team in shambles when he was done. I think Andy reid bringing him in was a good decision for that year, but he needed to be cut immediately thereafter.

I disagree, as I pointed out before, the team had already been to the championship twice BEFORE TO showed up. I will give you this though. I think having TO on the team helped them reach the Super Bowl, not because of his talent, but because of the confidence of him being ON the team. Everyone knows he is a talented motherfucker! I just wish he'd spend half the time he does running his mouth on playing football.... He'd be breaking records left and right!

The Eagles didn't NEED him to be in the spotlight, but he did help their confidence. And when all is said and done, he left the team in FAR worse shape then they were in before. It's like they have to start ALL over and learn how to play as a team, and re-learn how to trust McNabb again!

The problem I have with T.O though really was, everyone SAW what happened. Everyone SAW McNabb choked. But it was his FIRST super bowl appearance! Not just the Eagles, but any major sports team in this city. The last championship was by the Sixers in 83. I was 5 years old and can not remember it. Every year passes and we just keep waiting.

I doubt McNabb is going anywhere, he's still a very good quarterback and he is slowly re-earning the trust of his teammates back. Andy Reid however may be looking for a job soon. He hasn't been able to do it, EVER. He's come close, but he can't close the deal.

Everybody thought this about Denver at one time, too. This current team is unlikely to even make a bowl at this point I imagine, but they will rebuild like everybod else and while it will hurt (just ask Packers fans) they'll have their shot again.
