Called my bookie today to place a bet on WV tonight. He said the line was "pk" which I ALWAYS understood to mean the teams are even and whoever you wager on only has to win the game by 1 point to cover. However, my bookie said that was incorrect and that "pk" is the equivalent to whoever you bet on being +1, meaning your team must win by 2 to cover. Have any of you EVER heard of such a thing? I may need a more educated bookie....

If it is an unregulated bookie (the pinhead on your street corner, the fatslob in your local tavern's backroom), then he is giving you the obligatory short-end-of-the-stick. He probably has "all ties/pushes are losses" somewhere on his list of "house rules." In this modern age, best to go with online casinos (and the new law passed a few weeks back will probably never be enforced), or live here in Vegas

Bubba is 100% right. If you are using a street bookie, he can make any rule he wants, just like he can charge whatever vig he wants or set the spread anyway. Don't use that guy or don't bet pk games. Or just deal with it and root for them to win by 2. If its hoops, its not that big of a deal. If its football, it could be a problem. But, as long as you know ahead of time, your on your own

Hold the Horses Folks
A PK is exactly what it means Pick Em\
Although uncommon if the came ends in a Tie, can only happen in NFL, then its a push if you have a pk and if your team wins by a point then you win

Really timdawg? That is what it means. The guy was asking why his bookie is saying a pk em game means whatever team you pick has to win by 2 for you to win the bet. And bubba and I were explaing that is not right, but your bookie can do whatever.
""However, my bookie said that was incorrect and that "pk" is the equivalent to whoever you bet on being +1, meaning your team must win by 2 to cover."
He meant to type "being -1". So if you took WV tonight, his bookie is saying that its really WV -1. Which is wrong.

Bookies can set any rules they want. But if you use a online sportsbook or casino or anything that is legit a pick em is just that. if your team can find a way to win by 1/2 a point, then your a winner. JUST WIN BABY!

the only time a PK means anything but even, is in baseball and hockey
if the game is a pk, whoever ya take is -120
in football and cfb, it means even
