View Full Version : Colts @ Patriots elroyjonz 11-02-2006, 05:53 PM Big game this Sunday night between 2 AFC powerhouse teams. Who do you think will win? elroyjonz 11-02-2006, 06:03 PM I'll take the Pats. They have had the Colts' # in the past(except for last year when half the team was hurt), and I think they will beat them again. Both teams are coming off impressive wins with N.E. having one less day to prepare and recover from MOnday nights game. Hey Now MoFo 11-02-2006, 06:05 PM Until the Colts can prove themselves, I'll take the Pats everytime. Case a Beer 11-02-2006, 06:05 PM I'm guessing a classic shoot-out. 34-28 Pats! elroyjonz 11-02-2006, 06:08 PM Hoping it doesn't come down to automatic Adam. Stevie4Stern 11-02-2006, 06:18 PM Tom Brady likes lil boys... http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e355/mapplegate14/Manning.jpg Case a Beer 11-02-2006, 06:21 PM http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e355/mapplegate14/Manning.jpg What were you saying? http://cache.deadspin.com/sports/peytonandkennychesney.jpg thosefnguys 11-02-2006, 06:50 PM I really have to go w. the Pats on this one; they have momentum [as does IN] but they're at Home, and that should be their ticket to winning. caliman 11-02-2006, 07:29 PM I'm a big Tom Brady fan, but just like last year, I don't think the Patriots have the secondary to stop the Colts. Colts will win. Case a Beer 11-02-2006, 07:32 PM I'm a big Tom Brady fan, but just like last year, I don't think the Patriots have the secondary to stop the Colts. Colts will win. They're getting some good play outta Samuel, Chad Scott, and Ellis Hobbs. Plus the Hitman is back there as well. The Pats have been stopping the run as well. And Indy has not. They'll mix man and zone and blitz when it's right. I like their chances... Colts will win. Pats have a different secondary than last year, and also have Rodney Harrison back this year(he missed last years' game). Not having Duane Starks back there is also a comfort. thoroldjames 11-02-2006, 11:31 PM Pats will win as usual elroyjonz 11-03-2006, 09:20 AM Temp should be in the 30's with a chance of showers. Pussah2 11-03-2006, 09:50 AM Hoping it doesn't come down to automatic Adam. I see a game winning field goal by Vinataeri. amermx 11-03-2006, 01:33 PM With the colts rushing defense and Brady getting more comfortable with the WR's , I think pats will win and not as close as all are thinking Case a Beer 11-03-2006, 01:37 PM I know that they aren't in the same division, but is there a better rivalry in the NFL besides these two? wsuraider 11-03-2006, 01:44 PM I know that they aren't in the same division, but is there a better rivalry in the NFL besides these two? There are better traditional rivalries (ex. Dal-Wash, Cle-Pitt, KC-Oak) than this one, but right now this is probably the most heated and relevant one. Reminds me of the the SF/Dallas rivalry of the 90's and the Oakland/Pittsburgh rivalry of the 70's. thosefnguys 11-03-2006, 01:46 PM I know that they aren't in the same division, but is there a better rivalry in the NFL besides these two? Case, you disappoint me, buddy... Uh, little rivalry known as Bears v. Packers? :p Pussah2 11-03-2006, 01:52 PM Case, you disappoint me, buddy... Uh, little rivalry known as Bears v. Packers? :p packers suck. Just like I can't say Jets vs Dolphins (some of the best games ever including best Monday night game ever) or Jets vs new England (From Parcells to Belicheck to Curtis martin) Giants vs Dallas is still big. I agree best rivalry currently is Colts vs New England. Case a Beer 11-03-2006, 01:53 PM There are better traditional rivalries (ex. Dal-Wash, Cle-Pitt, KC-Oak) than this one, but right now this is probably the most heated and relevant one. Reminds me of the the SF/Dallas rivalry of the 90's and the Oakland/Pittsburgh rivalry of the 70's. Yes, that was what I was getting at. Case a Beer 11-03-2006, 01:57 PM Case, you disappoint me, buddy... Uh, little rivalry known as Bears v. Packers? :p Certainly tradition no doubt, just like the other ones mentioned. But when was the last time they played a game with a playoff spot on the line, or in the playoffs? A.Lang=Crazy 11-03-2006, 03:16 PM I think Maroney goes off this week 100+ yards and a td. He is going to show everybody he is better than Bush. DILLIGAF3 11-03-2006, 03:24 PM GO PATS !!! :D dave24s 11-03-2006, 05:43 PM How many other non-division teams play eachother EVERY SINGLE YEAR? I mean, jesus, this really isn't fair to both teams. The schedule should rotate and be true to the rotation for EVERY team, no exceptions. Being such a short regular season, forcing two great teams to play every year is not fair to the teams, or the fans. Why is it not fair to the fans? This is a playoff caliber matchup. Why lose some of that luster? But hey, I love both teams. I see Vinatieri making a 40 yarder with 1:30 left, and the Pat's kicker (I don't even know who he is) missing a 30 yarder with :03. Sweet, sweet irony. Case a Beer 11-03-2006, 05:55 PM There playing again due to them both finishing in 1st place last year in their division. I believe it's the 1st place playing first place thing... KingOfAllMedia 11-03-2006, 08:49 PM Is it Sunday night yet? Nice av Case. con2cor 11-03-2006, 09:01 PM pats lets go islanders thosefnguys 11-03-2006, 10:55 PM Certainly tradition no doubt, just like the other ones mentioned. But when was the last time they played a game with a playoff spot on the line, or in the playoffs? Actually, the hatred is so great between the two teams that, even if the Bears were 2-15, so long as they killed the packers, we'd consider it a winning season. studhub 11-03-2006, 11:07 PM Until the Colts can prove themselves, I'll take the Pats everytime. What are you talking about? Are you forgetting Indy beat the pats last year around the same time in NE 40-21? Colts will win again. elroyjonz 11-04-2006, 09:13 AM What are you talking about? Are you forgetting Indy beat the pats last year around the same time in NE 40-21? Colts will win again. Peytons' Colts are 1-7 in N.E. Last years game featured Duane Starks starting @ C.B. and Randall Gay starting for Rodney Harrison. Also half the Pats' O-Line was out with injuries. Like Denver seems to have New Englands #, New England seems to have Indys'#. Indy seems to have Denvers'# as well. I was really impressed that Indy went into Denver last weekend and won, especially after being down 14-3 early. You can say what you want about Indys' defense sucking....The team finds a way to win. Case a Beer 11-04-2006, 01:59 PM The Colts aren't playing D like they did last year. They not blowing people out either like last season. They let the Titans hang around and the Jets. I'm guessing it'll be a shootout with the last team having the ball will probably win... dezpaul81 11-04-2006, 09:07 PM New England 27 Indy 24 Pats win on the leg of Gostkowski elroyjonz 11-05-2006, 10:15 AM 34-21 Pats. I also thought we would get smoked by Cincy, so what do I know? It should be a great game with both teams playing very well right now. Can't wait for 8:15 tonight! Dria 11-05-2006, 03:30 PM Go Patriots (this game only) Bears bit the dust and the 72 Dolphins have put the champagne on ice elroyjonz 11-05-2006, 08:55 PM Will the refs' call holding on the Colts' O-line once tonight. God Damn fuckin ridiculous. wtango 11-05-2006, 09:18 PM Don't get the REPLAY RULE! If they make a coach tell the reason for the Challenge and then rule that the coach was wrong to challenge....why is he not charged with a Time-Out? And if Belichik challenged the fumble...why are they looking at anything else??? biancas tick 11-05-2006, 09:30 PM I am getting sick of those re-play rules too- and when they throw down that Red Babuska for a challenge And then us chicks have to ask the guys- and they think we are stupid -Even Dan Madden says " I don't know what that was all about" :p biancas tick 11-05-2006, 09:33 PM They should call it Sunday Challenge Football from now on--OMG wtango 11-05-2006, 09:35 PM HOLY CRAP! The Pats should have challenged that Harrison TD!!!! He was readjusting the ball in his hands! If the Pats won the challenge, the Colts would have been penalized 15 yards for the taunting! wojo1932 11-05-2006, 09:38 PM HOLY CRAP! The Pats should have challenged that Harrison TD!!!! He was readjusting the ball in his hands! If the Pats won the challenge, the Colts would have been penalized 15 yards for the taunting! im a huge pats fan, but the harrison td was an amazing catch by one of the game's greatest... pats still win 27-24. Vinatieri chokes at the end for the tie. studhub 11-05-2006, 10:39 PM Colts will win again. :hw: to the Patsy's and therehttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/peepintommy/fag-1.gif degenerate fans. Case a Beer 11-05-2006, 10:51 PM I'm here to talk my lumps like a man. Turnovers and some questionable play calling. Tough deal, real tough. I agree with fuckface Madden about us pressing a little and trying too get to much too quick, the 1st pick in the endzone. Indy could've been had tonight, I think. We D'ed up in the 2nd half, plus Non-Automatic Adam missing 2 kicks. Kevin Faulk, you owe us one there, shorty!!    Stevie, even though you were posting in some shitty GC thread while the game was on, thus not paying full attention, you and your commercial hoar WIN!...congrats. Case a Beer 11-05-2006, 10:53 PM 4 fuckin pick offs, tom brady sucked tonight 3 came off of 3 tipped balls. Fuck off. And watch the game next time rookie. And watch the game next time rookie. Manning had a 4 int game in the playoffs where his receivers were held continuously, but they were still interceptions and it was a so called choke. I guess the shoe is on the other foot. Stevie4Stern 11-06-2006, 06:14 AM ooga ooga  :booty: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e355/mapplegate14/Manning.jpg robg32 11-06-2006, 07:27 AM Kevin Faulk, you owe us one there, shorty!!    Yeah no crap.... I HATE when they give faulk the ball. Occasionally he makes a nice play but more times than not its a fumble or something. Whatever.... as long as we beat them in the playoffs. elroyjonz 11-06-2006, 08:08 AM I'm here to talk my lumps like a man. Turnovers and some questionable play calling. Tough deal, real tough. That first pick was a horrible pass by Brady to a reciever who was double covered in the end zone. I don't know why the Pats didn't run it up the middle all game, especially when Brady wasn't having his best game. His recievers didn't help much either as they were not aggresive. Ben Watson could have drawn a pass interference call on Bradys' 3rd pick if he had jumped into the defender who had his back to Brady. I also thought the refs sucked(waaaaaaaaa) not calling the Dolts for one holding call( O-Line), when several holds were obvious. Also the taunting call on Brown, and the hands to the face call on Vrabel were a joke. The Pats also killed themselves by commiting 5 penalties on third down that would have ended the Colts drive. robg32 11-06-2006, 08:22 AM That first pick was a horrible pass by Brady to a reciever who was double covered in the end zone. The league made a big deal about playing to the whistle this year and the refs pull that shit.....drives me fuckin nuts. |
