View Full Version : ex-Jungle Clones now Ferrall fans??
DodgerBlues 11-02-2006, 09:07 PM Yo..... use to be a huge jungle clone and listener of Jim Rome, but now that Rome has gone "All Interview" and gotten really uptight and almighty, im no longer a "clone". The days of me going to the Tour Stops are over, the gloss is pretty much erased from my vocabulary and only in retrospect do i day dream of the days of Bugaha vs. Crapchester and having momma tied to the plow. No more Crapchesterians cruisin' the IROC to the Saturday Night Live soundtrack, no more Rounding 3rd or Fat dudes on mopeds references. Gone are those days and i welcome with open arms the present........ "SHAAAAKKKEEEE ITTTT UUUPPP!!!!" and "YUUUUDAAAAAMMAAAANN!!!".
Ferrall now owns all sports radio jocks and is my #1 sports talk show. Period!
Who else has jumped ship? Anyone?
tim97103 11-02-2006, 09:57 PM I jumped when all of my "regular" radio was dumped in favor of satellite. Rome's show jumped the shark after he went to 3 hours.....and the fact he was syndicated. I miss the old border squirmishes between Bugaha and Suckacuse, LoCal SoCal and NoCal, and the almighty Medford vs. Portland.
biancas tick 11-02-2006, 10:01 PM I Love  Ferrall
markijuano 11-02-2006, 10:04 PM Romie got old and sold out, Ferral is the realest sports talk on the box ooout
this must be a West Coast Thing
caliman 11-02-2006, 10:57 PM I like Rome but used to like him alot more. Nowadays, he has too many boring interviews and what's with the Nascar interviews? He used to make fun of Nascar, now he has these guys on and kisses their ass.

I used to listen Rome on the "Mighty 690" back in the day in SD. Like you i miss some of the classic callers, but with regular radio the breaks every 15 min. just sucks. I'm giving Ferral some run a lot right now.
Terrance from Sierra Madre was on of my favs.
italiafem 11-03-2006, 10:28 AM Jim Rome has gone mainstream. He was a good sports guy with a good schtick, now he is trying to be a "serious" sportscaster and interviewer. He is not talented enough to do that.
Ferrall is real been a churchgoer and listener for months now. He breaks it up with some music, facts and bitching at Lou which I love.
fatroider4 11-03-2006, 11:55 AM I still listen every now and then but he has become so dependent on the interviews that he will take just about anyone. Last year I could swear that he interviewed the entire Atlanta Falcons and the amazing part is he couldnt make me give a shit about any of them. He should just stick to smack talk....oh and he should have come to sirius :)
Joeyd 11-03-2006, 12:31 PM Count me in as one of the guys who has jumped ship.. I used to call the show a little more than I like to admit.. I was "recepted" quite well for a while too (here's to hoping you don't get that joke. haha), until J-Stew started messing with me and the rest is history.. Listening to Rome was fun while it lasted, but it got a bit old for me. He definitely should have come to Sirius.. I feel like the whole time he was just toolin around with people, even suggesting that he might come to satellite radio..
Kenoe 11-03-2006, 02:36 PM FUCK YOU FAG CLONES!!!!
Mr Fister 11-03-2006, 05:21 PM I used to listen to Jim Rome everyday, but one die I suddenly realizes ALL sports talk radio sucks ass. The Ferrall came to Sirius and I once again listen to sports talk. Now, if only Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton would come over............

I've been gone for 7 years...is it still Xtra 690?
huklbre 11-03-2006, 06:33 PM Give me back my son!
devoelodi 11-03-2006, 07:59 PM before i got sirius, i listened to Rome every day. (ha ha ha ha, you always say that)
i even went to the last tour stop in cleveland ( lunch with the monkey)
but its hard to listen to regular radio, with all the commericals. (i-like-my-chances)
i do miss the show, and i dont follow it anymore ( i just got back from red lobster)
HOWCANIBETHEMANWHENYOURETHEMAN!
swampeast 11-03-2006, 11:28 PM FUCK YOU FAG CLONES!!!!
totally! Jim Rome is a fucking hack and has no right to be in the same sentence as uncle futrelli. i would give my right leg to see scotty kick the dog shit outta that goddamn homo.
[ ( i just got back from red lobster)]
:D There are still a few moments with Rome, but Scotty's show is far superior. I rarely listen to Rome anymore but it seems like he has become such a politically correct pussy - so careful and fearful of offending anyone.
FHackie 11-07-2006, 05:39 PM I'm new to listening to Rome and I think hes better than most sports talkshows, but I don't get the phonecalls that do some kind of schtick that go on and on and on and on and on and on.
Major Player 11-07-2006, 08:24 PM Ferrall and Colin Cowherd are the two best national sports talk shows going right now.
DetroitCams 11-07-2006, 08:38 PM I've been gone for 7 years...is it still Xtra 690?
690 is all Spanish radio now, they moved it to 570 and the flagship radio station for the Lakers.
Rome in the mid nineties was great radio, tour stops out of control at citywalk in '97 everyone was so drunk and loud he cut the live feed. The huge fax of the day, and DRUG TESTS, he sold out, and has lost many clones as a result!!! Shake it Up!

Edwardough 11-09-2006, 03:33 PM SHAKE IT UP!
I jumped from the "self hating white man" known as Rome in 1996- yep the first time I heard "Ferrall On the Bench"
Ferrall you are my demi-god.......
