BE CAREFUL when puchasing your Stiletto......THERE IS TWO MODELS with a $100 difference

Stiletto 10 - Has no WiFi capability and only records 10 hours

Stiletto 100 - Has WiFi capability and records 100 hours

Keep in mind these units are sold without Car or Home Kits which you
will have to get unless you are standing under the sattellite all day and night.
(Only if you want to record content especially Howard because Wifi does not record)

Make sure you are getting what you pay for especially if buying via ebay.

Enjoy your Stilletto!!

It's funny that Howard and Robin tote this as a "truly portable player." Yet you can only get reception if you are in an area that has a a WiFi hotspot? Is that correct?

Do the Stiletto car and/or home kits have an audio out. I have no desire to use the FM modulator and I certainly can't depend on Sirius support to give me a straight answer.

Thanks
Joe

Yes, they can be direct-wired to the amplifier.

What is the deal with mp3. Am I reading it correctly that the 100 can play mp3 and the 10 cannot?

This is the first I've seen that there were two models. Dammit.

i was wondering the difference between the two... so does the 100 still get reception inside of buildings or is it only if there is a wifi hotspot or another wireless network there?

There isn't a single portable satellite radio(Sirius or XM) that can get perfect reception inside of buildings unless you have a ground repeater nearby. This is a limitation of all satellite technology. Having said that, they are both capable or receiving signals directly from satellites, i.e. they both have a built-in antenna. But don't expect perfect reception inside buildings, just like cellphones don't work very well inside some places. There aren't enough ground repeaters installed throughout the US to make this possible. This is a young technology, just like cellphones were really spotty in the early days.

Regarding the differences, the SL100 has more memory and built-in WiFi reception for streaming Sirius radio. I would get the SL100 if I were you, it's worth the extra money.

heheh- it's the ability to pick up a wireless internet connection. Sound isn't great yet when using WiFi supposedly. Limited channels too, but its a cool otion when you can't get a reular satellite signal
