View Full Version : Can Anyone Beat the Ravens??? stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 01:27 PM Take your pic... Case a Beer 11-28-2006, 01:34 PM D. All of the above. whuckawazza 11-28-2006, 01:35 PM Ditka Fa_Fa_Fa_FOOOEE 11-28-2006, 01:36 PM Patriots.....very easily! tom sizemore 11-28-2006, 01:37 PM Spider-man could i bet mkriss5681 11-28-2006, 01:41 PM OKOK Who would win if Brian Billick fought Hurrican Katrina? Billick Case a Beer 11-28-2006, 01:42 PM OKOK Who would win if Brian Billick fought Hurrican Katrina? Billick Yeah, Ray Lewis could take out his sword and shield and save all the blaeks... stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 01:42 PM D. All of the above. I'm still trying to figure out why you always post in the Ravens threads... I think you're a closet Raven's fan... BTW, NO ONE seriously thinks the Patriots and thier 5 TE's and -1 recievers could beat the Ravens D. That's just ridiculous... stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 01:43 PM OKOK Who would win if Brian Billick fought Hurrican Katrina? Billick  stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 01:44 PM COB, that's an interesting way of spelling "blacks"... PMSDoll 11-28-2006, 01:44 PM I believe that on any given Sunday one team can beat any other team. Right now the Ravens have looked like a more complete team than they ever have, and I don't beleive we've seen the best they can play yet. The D is scary good and the offense is putting up better numbers with Billick taking over as OC. I like our odds against any of the other top teams. I also know that karma is a bitch and I wouldn't discount any team beating the Ravens on any given Sunday. Stevie4Stern 11-28-2006, 01:47 PM http://aycu29.webshots.com/image/5508/2001726911856661359_rs.jpg (http://allyoucanupload.webshots.com/v/2001726911856661359) Case a Beer 11-28-2006, 01:50 PM COB, that's an interesting way of spelling "blacks"... Well if you didn't just start posting around here last week, you would know why it is spelled that way. Case a Beer 11-28-2006, 01:54 PM I'm still trying to figure out why you always post in the Ravens threads... I think you're a closet Raven's fan... BTW, NO ONE seriously thinks the Patriots and thier 5 TE's and -1 recievers could beat the Ravens D. That's just ridiculous... Always post in the Ravens threads??? You posted a poll. Out of the 84 posts in the Ravens thread. 4 of them are mine....WTF? stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 02:02 PM Out of the 84 posts in the Ravens thread. 4 of them are mine....WTF? I'm just breakin' balls, man. I mean no offense. Post away. jerrybobphil 11-28-2006, 02:05 PM I'm a die hard Raven fan and not that stupid to believe that we can't get beat. Theres a long way to go and acting like a retarded blind sports fan doesn't help. stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 02:08 PM I'm a die hard Raven fan and not that stupid to believe that we can't get beat. Theres a long way to go and acting like a retarded blind sports fan doesn't help. I'm not sure who your refering to, but I'm assuming I am at leasdt one of the people you directed that comment toward. I assure you I am far from a "blind" sports fan. Take a look at the numbers. Top 5 in scoring and defense. The Ravens are clearly the best constructed team in the league right now. That's not "blind" or "retarded". As for being beat, that is the point of this poll - who can beat them right now? In my opinion, the answer is no one - at least not at this time. jerrybobphil 11-28-2006, 02:18 PM I'm not sure who your refering to, but I'm assuming I am at leasdt one of the people you directed that comment toward. Are you from Baltimore? It seems odd that a Raven fan would even think about cheering for the yankees. Anyway This is the NFL and anything can happen on a given sunday. I doubt anyone can come into Baltimore right now and win. But to say that the Ravens won't have a tough fight in Indy or New England or San Diego is being blind and not being real. I live and die with this team have been for the history of this team. When we lose my Sundays my Monday morning are shit. But that doesn't make me ignorant of the other good teams in the league. mkriss5681 11-28-2006, 02:38 PM Are you from Baltimore? It seems odd that a Raven fan would even think about cheering for the yankees. LOL I was wondering the same thing but I'm not gonna talk shit to a fellow Ravens fan until Baseball season. Even though my shit-talking will be limited due to be an Orioles fan :( jerrybobphil 11-28-2006, 02:42 PM LOL I was wondering the same thing but I'm not gonna talk shit to a fellow Ravens fan until Baseball season. Even though my shit-talking will be limited due to be an Orioles fan :( I was thinking the same thing after posting it. Just asking a question didn't mean for it to come off as talking shit. Just very odd (never) to see a person cheer for a Baltimore team and a New York team at the same time. A big no-no for anyone from Baltimore to cheer for anything New York its just in our blood. CrazyLocoDude 11-28-2006, 03:10 PM Well the Browns should have beat the ratbirds but they gave the game right back to them. stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 03:18 PM I was thinking the same thing after posting it. Just asking a question didn't mean for it to come off as talking shit. Just very odd (never) to see a person cheer for a Baltimore team and a New York team at the same time. A big no-no for anyone from Baltimore to cheer for anything New York its just in our blood. I am living in St. Louis right now. I moved here from Los Angeles. I moved to Los Angeles from Daytona, Florida. I moved to Daytona from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I moved to Milwuakee from St. Louis after high school. I've never lived in New York or Baltimore. I have been a Yankees fan since 1996. I have been a Ravens fan since 2000. I had never seen a defense like that. They made defense exciting. I love Ray Lewis, and mute my local games to listen to the Ravens on the Baltimore feed through Sirius. With the technological advances in the last 10 years (internet, cell phones, expanded cable coverage, etc.) there is no reason to be a "homer" - people can now root for any team, follow them, watch and listen to the games - all from anywhere in the world. Add that to the fact that I have spent the last 10 years moving around and maybe you can understand that the city I live in has nothing to do with the teams I root for. I'm also a Tampa Bay Lightening fan - since 2002. As for the "other good teams" - The Colts have no run defense and the Patriots are a shell of thier former selves. I think San Diego would be a good game. I beleive the Ravens would man-handle the Bears. Again, at this time, I don't beleive there is a team that can beat them... mkriss5681 11-28-2006, 03:21 PM I moved to Milwuakee from St. Louis after high school. Any cool Raven's bars in St. Louis in case I ever visit? jerryjr99 11-28-2006, 03:38 PM Yes several teams could Colts, Cowboys just to name a few jerryjr99 11-28-2006, 03:38 PM Well the Browns should have beat the ratbirds but they gave the game right back to them. I agree stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 03:39 PM Any cool Raven's bars in St. Louis in case I ever visit? Yeah right... See, I take it personally when people say I'm not a fan, because I wear my Ray Lewis jersey every week during the game. I do the same with my TO SF throw back jersey during Cowboys games. I actually catch more shit for the Ray jersey than the Owens. It's bullshit. Everyone here hates the Ravens. They're all so used to high-scoring offense (Mike Martz) that they can't enjoy a defensive clinic like the Ravens put on each week. stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 03:41 PM Yes several teams could Colts, Cowboys just to name a few Not only would the Colts lose, but Peyton would get planted about 5 times and need to be carted off the field. Seriously, when is the last time we saw Peyton take a real hit??? 1998?? I like the Cowboys, but Tony Romo isn't ready for a Ravens or Chicago defense. Sorry, try again... jerrybobphil 11-28-2006, 03:46 PM Yeah right... Just living in Baltimore you get the feeling that there isn't many Ravens fans who didn't live or have somekind of hook into Baltimore. Most fans outside of Baltimore still hang on to the media going overboard against this city for how this team got here and never looking at how this city was screwed over by the NFL. I welcome all support for this team and class organization. And seeing where you lived it safe to say you have no home teams. mkriss5681 11-28-2006, 03:50 PM Yeah right... Dude that sucks. Your always welcome here in B-More. I can't walk down the street 5 feet in my 86 jersey without people screaming HEEEEEEEEAAAAPPP! My uncle lucked out. He moved outside of Tampa and found a bar down there where the owner came from Baltimore so a few fans meet there every sunday. stlbubbamark 11-28-2006, 04:19 PM Even if we had a Ravens bar, I'd be the only one in it, so it would suck. Of coarse, I'd get good service, and I'd have better luck scoring with the waitresses... :) mozman 11-28-2006, 05:25 PM http://aycu29.webshots.com/image/5508/2001726911856661359_rs.jpg (http://allyoucanupload.webshots.com/v/2001726911856661359) PAPER CHAMPIONS.......UNITAS CURSE mozman 11-28-2006, 05:32 PM Well the Browns should have beat the ratbirds but they gave the game right back to them. Lucky fucking scumbags. GO BROWNS  Dude, your team is the laughing stock of the league year after year. When are you guys going to get "lucky"? Even when the Ravens aren't good they are never as bad as the Browns. When the Browns can end a season with at least a .500 record, that's when you can open your MAN pleaser. While you're at it, pick up a fucking paper once in a while or flip on ESPN. Modell doesn't own the team anymore. He retired so he could spend time polishing his Superbowl trophy. Is it just me or did you become a fan of those teams while they were on there way to winning a championship?? Well I recall last year the teams ended with the same record you fuck face. And the reason I didnt know that cocksucker left the team is because I dont give a fuck. So who did you like before the ratbirds? Cause they have only been there for a few years jerrybobphil 11-28-2006, 08:32 PM man I cant wait till the ratbird fall apart. Lets also forget the history of football in Baltimore. So you liked the colts when they were in baltimore? Oh I am sorry I didnt know you were a fan back then my bad CrazyLocoDude 11-28-2006, 08:37 PM Modell hasn't owned the team for over two years. Get a fucking clue. No wonder your a Browns fan. Obviously you didnt read I DONT GIVE A FUCK you stupid shit head. Why would I look up info on a team I hope fails? your a moron elroyjonz 11-28-2006, 08:50 PM BTW, NO ONE seriously thinks the Patriots and thier 5 TE's and -1 recievers could beat the Ravens D. That's just ridiculous... Laurence Maroney and Corey Dillon will be there too, as well as Three Time SuperBowl Starting Quarterback Tom Brady. Last time I checked our Defense was pretty good. They will show up. Player 1 11-28-2006, 09:16 PM only team i'm worried about is Indianapolis Jack the Hammer 11-28-2006, 10:20 PM Colts, Pats, Chargers, Bears all could handle the Ravens with ease! goulash 11-28-2006, 11:07 PM hurricane ditka could beat the ravens.... jerryjr99 11-28-2006, 11:17 PM Who? Who are they???? the fukin Dallas Cowboys is who multi-superbowl champs.. Home of the playmaker Michael Irvin, Emmit Smith and now TO jerryjr99 11-28-2006, 11:18 PM I dont see them getting beat as long as Romo doesnt become a friggin homo mozman 11-29-2006, 08:39 AM Well I recall last year the teams ended with the same record you fuck face. And the reason I didnt know that cocksucker left the team is because I dont give a fuck. So who did you like before the ratbirds? Cause they have only been there for a few years http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o205/mozman17/youretard.jpg stlbubbamark 11-29-2006, 08:47 AM Colts, Pats, Chargers, Bears all could handle the Ravens with ease! Shut up, Cartman. That's just a stupid statement... Of coarse, it beats anything that comes out of the mouth of "Case of Beer", so carry on... stlbubbamark 11-29-2006, 11:02 AM In the second day of voting, the smartest sports fans in the world are pretty spread out on this topic... But, 47% say that no one can beat the Ravens... Keep the votes commin', folks... Jack the Hammer 11-29-2006, 12:28 PM Come on now the Raven's winning the Superbowl this year, not gonna happen. They'll be lucky to get outta the first round of the Playoffs! stlbubbamark 11-29-2006, 01:55 PM Come on now the Raven's winning the Superbowl this year, not gonna happen. They'll be lucky to get outta the first round of the Playoffs! I'm assuming that you have some stats or evidence to support your assumption, so I'll point out a few facts... There are 32 teams. That means that each team has a 3% chance of winning the superbowl at the beginning of the year. If only teams with current winnig records can be considered, that leaves 15 teams - each with a 7% chance of winning... If you count only the first place and wildcard teams at this date, that leaves 8 teams - each with a 12.5% chance of winning. If you count only the teams with a .750 winning percentage, that leaves 4 teams, each with a 25% chance of winning... The Ravens are included in all of these catagories... If you add up the Ravens percentage chances, it equals a 47.5% chance of winning the superbowl. This is some fucked up math, but it works in the Ravens favor, so I like it... Jack the Hammer 11-29-2006, 03:36 PM That is some great common sense along with math you did there with all the percentages and BS but my checkbook says they won't win it, I'd be willing to bet on any of the 7 other teams over the Raven's in the Playoffs. We'll just have to wait out this debate and see how they end up. It's generally a team with both offensive and defensive skills that win a Superbowl, not just the defensive end as the Raven's have, although since Billick has started calling plays there O has done a bit more then the norm. stlbubbamark 11-29-2006, 04:44 PM That is some great common sense along with math you did there with all the percentages and BS... Yeah, I really pulled one outta my ass there. I like it though. When you read it, it seems to make perfect sense. If they make the superbowl, and you add thier 50% chance of winning (only 2 teams), then my math would claim they have a 97.5% chance of winning. LOL!!! Good stuff. Case a Beer 11-29-2006, 07:12 PM Shut up, Cartman. That's just a stupid statement... Of coarse, it beats anything that comes out of the mouth of "Case of Beer", so carry on... You never did answer my question Case a Beer 12-01-2006, 06:57 AM  elroyjonz 12-01-2006, 07:40 AM Ravens now below Patriots on all power rankings. artiefan711 12-01-2006, 08:43 AM Manning, the bears, and the chargers would all beat the ravens but cool poll though.... PMSDoll 12-01-2006, 08:55 AM I guess last night's game answered this poll's question. Very disappointing game, but I'm not worried. Hopefully this will be a wake up call for them. SPANKY961 12-01-2006, 09:08 AM Being a Steeler fan it pains me to say this, but the Ravens are still the best team in the AFC North. I think Baltimore just had a let down after the ass kicking we got on Sunday. If Mcnair stays healthy I think Baltimore goes deep in the playoffs. PMSDoll 12-01-2006, 09:11 AM I agree - I'm just glad none of our players threw their helmet on the field and cried about how much better our team is than theirs. I think last night was the result of an overly confident Ravens offense and a desperate Bengals team. K_Vick 12-01-2006, 09:17 AM The Bengals just shut them down last night.... The Ravens are OVER-RATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPANKY961 12-01-2006, 09:22 AM Baltimore is very business like this year. The Bengals aren't the same focused team they were last year. Too many primadonnas have sprung up on that team. Not to mention the off the field problems. Cincys D stepped up last night, but I don't think they can sustain that level of play. PMSDoll 12-01-2006, 09:29 AM The Bengals just shut them down last night.... The Ravens are OVER-RATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you like 12 years old? The Ravens won by 6 points at home and the Bengals won by 6 points at home -- seems both teams are pretty even to me. Case a Beer 12-01-2006, 01:55 PM Well, the loss by the ravens shows that any given week, Team A can beat Team B and vice versa. That's why I can't bet on football games...call me a sissy I guess. scottykfla 12-01-2006, 02:02 PM a wet track and home game for the 'natti....still evenly matched teams...cincy always hyped when on tv..even when it was the NFL network fiasco......chargers are much the best though.............too much on offense.......beware the saints in nfc jerryjr99 12-01-2006, 02:05 PM a wet track and home game for the 'natti....still evenly matched teams...cincy always hyped when on tv..even when it was the NFL network fiasco......chargers are much the best though.............too much on offense.......beware the saints in nfc Well it was def. a good game but the Saints in the nfc??? PMSDoll 12-01-2006, 02:51 PM The Ravens put a hurting to the Saints in their house. I don't know how much you need to beware of them. |
