I'm a Skins fan too. I try and keep it quiet though because they're so pathetic.

yup... born and raised... been a tough one this year... but with danny boy, our offseasons are often more eventful than our actual seasons, so I'm staying tuned for what "brilliant" front office moves we make this year...
you grow up in DC, cutter?

this year was brutal... brutally embarrassing... but at least campbell showed promise and betts became LT in the second half of the year.. don't know if you've followed all the behind the scenes shannigans but if all the espn articles and player-speak is true, we got much deeper problems than salary cap issues..
curious to see how they are going to handle AA and brunell... wonder if mark will consider a pay cut and I guess the play is to just cut AA and take the 5 mil cap hit.. unreal... don't even get me started about lloyd..
I'm a gibbs diehard but I place the blame on him... his hands-off approach worked wonders in the past (cause pettibone was a genius who ran a tight ship), but in this new era of egos and power struggles, he lost control of his coaching staff and it bottomed out the chemistry of the team... sad to see a hall of famer coach consistently look bewildered on the sidelines..
I can't help but hope though!
EbolaVirus 01-20-2007, 07:12 AM I need to go to more games.

Well said Bazooka,
AA is primarly a run stopping safety and a blitz threat but the Skins did neither with him. He's awful in coverage but they left him back in a cover 2. Just like the early Snyder years a big cap hit for an underachieving player (see Dan Wilkenson, Trotter, Deion Sanders).
As for Gibbs, it is quite sad. Tough to admit but the game has clearly passed him by. He's basically a mascot with the O and D Cord Coaches running the show. Al Saunders was another bad hire. The Skins run between the tackles and always have. The pitch plays and gadget plays drove me nuts. How many hitch screens can a team run in one fucking game?
I agree on Campbell he shows a lot of touch on the ball and poise in the pocket, we might have some hope there.

I did not grow up in DC but my pops became a die hard fan while interning for a congressman in DC back in the day. The guy got free tix to all the games but wasn't a sports fan so he kicked the tickets down to my old man. I basically inherited my love for the skins from him. BRUTAL fucking season but there are a few glimmers of hope. I think we should try to pick up a CB or two from free agency, get rid of Archuletta or make him a role player that plays more like a linebacker closer to the line of scrimmage b/c he can't cover for shit, and draft Alan Branch, a killer DT from Michigan. Just my two cents. War Cooley!
KingOfAllWhites 01-20-2007, 10:57 PM <------loves ALL ta ta's
fastloucard 01-21-2007, 04:01 PM That was probably the best thing at a Bengals game this year!
