View Full Version : How shitty does Edgerrin James feel? Case a Beer 02-05-2007, 08:54 AM :jj: At least he got to go to all of the Superbowl week parties. medicalboy 02-05-2007, 08:56 AM didnt even think of that - good one KingOfAllWhites 02-05-2007, 08:57 AM I dont feel bad for him when he goes to the bank to cash those checks. He got alot more zeroes on that check to go to Arizona. tommyp 02-05-2007, 08:57 AM Well, perhaps it was Edgerrin James' fault all along that they didn't get to the Super Bowl, not Peyton's. Case a Beer 02-05-2007, 08:59 AM Well, perhaps it was Edgerrin James' fault all along that they didn't get to the Super Bowl, not Peyton's. probably not. Hey Now MoFo 02-05-2007, 09:01 AM Well, perhaps it was Edgerrin James' fault all along that they didn't get to the Super Bowl, not Peyton's. Get your head in the game son. KingOfAllWhites 02-05-2007, 09:02 AM Well, perhaps it was Edgerrin James' fault all along that they didn't get to the Super Bowl, not Peyton's. I hope your kidding :D elroyjonz 02-05-2007, 09:02 AM Joe Klecko now has 3x as many rings as edge. tommyp 02-05-2007, 09:07 AM I hope your kidding :D Of course...there's no sarcasm font. Unless I italicize it. Case a Beer 02-05-2007, 09:15 AM I dont feel bad for him when he goes to the bank to cash those checks. He got alot more zeroes on that check to go to Arizona. Not as much as I thought it was..... ESPN.com has confirmed that the four-year contract is worth $30 million. James received an initial signing bonus of $7 million and will pocket a $4.5 million roster bonus on the seventh day of the 2006 league year, essentially the end of this week. The base salaries in the contract are $3.25 million (for 2006), $5.25 million (2007), $5 million (2008) and $5 million (2009). A $7,000,000 signing bonus in the NFL is pretty sweet. That is not very common. Stevie4Stern 02-05-2007, 09:16 AM Fuck him. at least he has a lil more money to count, cuz thats WAY more important than being a champion HAHAHA!!! chump Case a Beer 02-05-2007, 09:20 AM Fuck him. at least he has a lil more money to count, cuz thats WAY more important than being a champion HAHAHA!!! chump For some players out there, yes. WhiteBoy 02-05-2007, 09:28 AM Joe Klecko now has 3x as many rings as edge. FYI - 3 times zero equals zero wsuraider 02-05-2007, 09:42 AM Probably like most of them he doesn't care. He just wants to get paid. hobbs47 02-05-2007, 09:47 AM I wouldn't give two fucks about a ring if I had the millions and all the white pussy you could shake a stick at :D otherone4life 02-05-2007, 10:30 AM Edge had plenty of zeroes in his bank acct. I don't think the Colts made a serious push to re sign him, they decided to sign Wayne instead and then draft Addai. Nevertheless, I'd be pissed that I missed out on a ring if I was him ... Nevertheless, I'd be pissed that I missed out on a ring if I was him ... I guess you have access to his bank account and his lifestyle to say he has enough $$. Ask anybody rich, there is no such thing as enough money. otto23 02-05-2007, 11:21 AM :jj: At least he got to go to all of the Superbowl week parties. http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g252/romanbelt/simpsons_nelson_haha2.jpg Remo Williams 02-05-2007, 11:44 AM Not only did the team he leave win the Super Bowl in his hometown but the coach he decided to leave for was fired after another shitty season. Well said. But to be fair, none of us could say we'd do things differently. Sounds like Arizona's offer was not going to be matched (or close to it) and who wouldn't head somewhere else for double they money? We are talking MILLIONS! Sure, the ring is priceless, but there was no garauntee of that ring. In hindsight, sure it sucks for him (winning in Miami has to be particularly painful for a "U" boy), but he's still got his money and that's not such a bad thing either. Ronster 02-05-2007, 02:44 PM Did he leave on his own though? I thought he wasn't offered a deal with the Colts. elway0798 02-05-2007, 02:47 PM My Edgerrin James impersination on SB night................:munch: Salkicksass 02-05-2007, 03:02 PM My Edgerrin James impersination on SB night................:munch: LMAO Good one.. A.Lang=Crazy 02-05-2007, 03:09 PM Did he leave on his own though? I thought he wasn't offered a deal with the Colts. If he wanted to stay with the Colts he could of took less money, but he wanted to go to a place that hasn't won anything and the money. How can anybody blame them? Remember a player named Gay Rod signing with Texas just for the $$$$ A.Lang=Crazy 02-05-2007, 03:36 PM 99% of athletes do the same thing every day. How can anybody blame them? Remember a player named Gay Rod signing with Texas just for the $$$$ I know everybody does it, but I'm not going to feel sorry for James when he had a choice to go back to the Colts for decent money or one of the worst nfl teams. KingOfAllWhites 02-05-2007, 03:39 PM I know everybody does it, but I'm not going to feel sorry for James when he had a choice to go back to the Colts for decent money or one of the worst nfl teams. Who the hell wants you or expects you to feel SORRY for James? This is a multi-millionaire who plays a sport for a living. He should feel sorry for me!! Shocker54 02-05-2007, 04:32 PM Edge doesnt give a fuck. haha. Guys from the Bears laughing after the game. The fans care more about winning then the players. But thats cause we are all poor fucking losers who want bragging rights. Remo Williams 02-05-2007, 04:41 PM Edge must not have called Emmit Smith to ask him if it's a good idea to go to Arizona. jerryjr99 02-05-2007, 04:45 PM :jj: At least he got to go to all of the Superbowl week parties. probably feels very rich, must be a terrible feeling studhub 02-05-2007, 08:44 PM I doubt very much. He's to busy staring at his bank statement...and enjoying the balmy Miami weather...while Indy's freezing it's ass off in below zero weather! :p cassel191919 02-05-2007, 08:54 PM hes got to feel like shit big time, he left for more money and someone actually took his place and did better kalidontx 02-05-2007, 10:10 PM He will like it when he is released in a few years and the majority of the contract is never in his bank account. he will have the 7million dollar bonus, plus maybe another 10 million in regular salary, subtract the Federal Taxes and bad investments like paying for the posse, and he will be broke in 20 years. You're going to see a lot of these stories in the future. If Tyson can go broke any of these athletes can go broke. Learn from MC Hammer and cut out the posse, the 12 cars and the gold toilets and live like a normal human being or you'll be selling meat door to door like Icky Woods. I am sure he gives a shit what a guy in Texas has to say..... His signing bonus is more then most people see in their lifetime. It is ALWAYS about the $$$, and he got it already. robg32 02-06-2007, 07:50 AM For some players out there, yes. definately. Some of the guys are concerned about the money only and could care less about the superbowl because they still get paid either way. 7 mil can buy a lot of therapy to get past not being on the colts for the superbowl. Worked out nice for BOOGER mcfarland tho. Guy was on the team for half the year. robg32 02-06-2007, 07:52 AM hes got to feel like shit big time, he left for more money and someone actually took his place and did better any running back would do great there. They have an amazing passing game which makes running the ball very easy. James is a great back but in arizona he did nothing because their offense isn't there yet. irish_na 02-06-2007, 12:50 PM I doubt very much. He's to busy staring at his bank statement...and enjoying the balmy Miami weather...while Indy's freezing it's ass off in below zero weather! :p while they are getting ready to don their brand new shiny Super Bowl Rings..let's face it it's not like Edge was making peanuts in Indy..If I had that much $$$$ I would gladly trade some of it for a Super Bowl Championship.... I would agree to some extent. Having a ring and being a champion has to carry some weight with players. jr1074 02-06-2007, 03:24 PM I doubt most players today would choose a ring over money. cab3 02-06-2007, 04:30 PM He's plays in my hoop league. He's a pretty cool guy just hangs with his boys from his hometown. I am sure it stings a little bit buy he took the money like anybody would. If he stayed with the Colts he would of lost like seventy percent of his contract he signed with the Cards. Who would do that? cab3 02-06-2007, 04:30 PM He's plays in my hoop league.
