heard there show today and they were bitching cause they cant get any guests.some how this is managements fault for this happening. ive been listening to stern for years and i always thought it was the producers job to book guests not management. am i wrong or not.

im no showbiz insider, but a producer produces guests and material for the show.

ive always thought that gary got way less credit than he deserves for how much he does to get guests (and to have gotten great guests over the years)

o&a should be pulling in big guests, but theyre probably not considered an 'easy place' to promote a movie/book/record etc. ive heard they make people want to BAIL if they dont catch on to the inside jokes being thrown around all the time.

That's not true I heard Uncle Manny has agreed to go in for an interview. Old Uncle Manny owned the Gas Light bar in Greenwich village where Bob Dylan first played 30 years ago. DLR has agreed to pull some strings as he is related to Uncle Manny and he will do their show as well, it should be good.

For the most part I agree, but every once in a while you get that Chris Rock type interview that you won't hear anywhere else - in the history of the world!

The best stuff is always going to be the staff fights, but Howard doesn't get star struck very often, so most of his celebrity interviews are pretty good.

I can't comment on O&A because I've never heard them interview anyone.

Very few of the guests that go on these shows do it because they want to. They do it because they have to. Their management team looks at ratings and demographics and determines if it is worth their time to promote there or to go to Regis and Kelly, the View, Martha Stewart ect.

Howard has developed some relationships over the years and so some of his guests will come in regardless. He is a kick ass interviewer who knows how to get private info out of stubborn people and thats why people listen and therefore it's worth it for the star to come in.

O&A are terrible interviewers and unless the guest is someone you are interested in you'll be bored out of your skull. Jim Norton isn't half bad at talking to the stars but all 3 of them sound uncomfortable doing it. They sound more like a Q&A session as opposed to Howard interviews sounding like a normal conversation a bartender would have with a patron (or a patriotic if you are a miss black howard stern contestant with a degree)
