sirius sucks cock. not the actual product, i loved the content, but the hardware is just horrible. All day long, rain or shine i would get 30 seconds of dead air every 10 minutes. i tried moving the antenna and nothing, still sucks. If sirius wants more people to join, they need to improve the product. right now, it's signal isnt much better then regular radio.

I understand where you're coming from. I've only been able to S50 Howard and Bubba once this week and the rest of the time i've been fighting the dreaed "no signal" It's pretty damn frustrating and I hope a new antenna will solve my problems. So far i've bought a S50, a home dock for the S50, a new outdoor antenna, and a Sirius One, almost $500 bucks on hardware alone. But I have to admit I need my Howard and Bubba fix. So if I need to buy the Stiletto 100 next week, i'll do it. I understand it's new technology, but try to improve the overall product for everyone as opposed to churning out new radios for people to buy.

And while we're on this rant, does it bother anyone else that whenever Howard went on the talk show circuit and when Beth was on the view that they gave away free Stilettos to the entire audience? No wonder Sirius can't make money.

Thats too bad, you should have tried to get another unit or something. If I had to give up my Sirius I dont know what I would do, dont think I could go back to terrestrial.

Sorry to hear your reception issues. I do not use the portable model. I have the Sportster 3 and it works great.

P.S.
Beth gave away a cheap reciever not the Stiletto

That sucks I live in Texas which is almost central with the satellites so I rarely have any trouble even in bad weather. I love Sirius I don't know what I would do with out it...

I can understand where you're coming from. I pretty much never have a problem getting a signal in my car but in my house it's a nightmare. At work I'm lucky because my window faces the only repeater in this area which is about 5 miles away.

I always wondered why Sirius couldn't make a deal with a large cell phone company like Verizon or Cingular to put repeaters on all their cell towers. That would create some awesome coverage throughout the whole country.

Too bad. I love my sirius. I rarely have dropouts. Maybe you should consulted with someone on antenna placement. That is usually the problem.

So I got the Sirius Outdoor Home Antenna yesterday from TSS-Radio (awesome site with excellent customer service and delivery time.) I attached the antenna yesterday and pointed in the direction I was supposed to and the "no signal" was still an issue. Bad news!!! So after work I am goingto Best Buy with my extended warranty and getting a Stilletto 100 and home dock. I love Howard and everything but this is starting to get expensive $$$! If that doesn't work, I guess I am out of options for recording the show. Anybody have any ideas on recording the show via the internet (as long as I have a subscription)?

Total recorder works well. It's $18 via the internet which isn't too bad. You can also use Audacity which is free but the problem with Audacity is you can't set any type of timer so if your not home to stop it will keep recording until you get home to stop it.

I can only get 1 unit for my car, one that works with clarion. I'm not going to buy a whole new face for my car just so that wont work either. and the problems i have are in my car, and i have moved the antenna, it still cuts out and sounds like shit. why pay over 500 dollars on radios? shouldnt even the cheapest one work? if not, you should get a full return.

sorry to hear about that Dude--I had trouble just recently getting a signal when I bought another $40 outdoor antenna for my apt.....finally I went back to the original spot and aimed it to the east--but at a lower angle and it works---I had minor trouble for over a year but tried putting this new one higher and on the balcony but it did NOT work so again try a lower angle---------good luck!!

I have the Xact Visor which is about the cheapest radio around ($29 on sale) and I get great reception both at home and in my vehicle even though there aren't any repeaters in my area (Vermont). I found that pointing the home antenna in the direction they recommended didn't give the best reception, so I just kept trying different placements until I found the right spot.

RIP my S50. I loved you while I had you. Last night I took my "no signal" loving S50 over to Best Buy after many repeated attempts of reviving and returned it. Thank God for the service plan as I got a Stiletto 100 and Stiletto Home Dock as an even exchange. So far so good with the unit as I will be playing with it today. A bunch of news reports came out this winter about getting service plans and them being ripoffs, but thank God I did!!! Oh and I also got a $35 gift card because it was an opened package return deal jones.

my sportster works good outside, but totally sucks indoors, but that's due to the crappy indoor antenna, so i'm going to get the stiletto 100 to fix that problem. the one in my truck works flawlessly even through the last rain storm we had.

I got the same issues. Freaking radio cuts out during cloudy days, and really seems to take forever to come back. They have one satellite over the entire country, and it doesn't seem to be able to do the job. Maybe too low on the horizon on the east coast?

Use one of the dot micro car antennas at home. They're $40 at BB. Your problems will be solved.
