I know they have the FM modulator, but dont want to tear open the Mrs. dash board to install it.

I thought I would have to tear open my dashboard on my Dakota also...

Turns out - there was an antenna "Splice" right behind the panel between the carpet and the dash. Had to remove 2 screws and pop out that piece, insert FM whatchamadoohickie and put it back together.... took all of 10 minutes - we*ks great!

I got no idea! I was just cleaning out my Jeep this morning and removed my Stilleto car kit. The adhesive on the base pulled off over night and it is done. It has only been up for a month. I was really not impressed with the car kit though. The reception was pure shit. I drove for 4 hours, not a single second of reception the entire ride. I am very disappointed in that aspect of the product. I LOVE my Stiletto, but it is useless in my car.

You shouldn't have to do anything to the dashboard, to be quite honest. I don't know how accessible the tools are, but I have a set of "tongs" that fit right in the front part of the stereo that pulls it right from the dash -- no bubbles, no troubles. The FM modulator took a whopping five minutes for me to install in the truck (the big one, not my personal vehicle), and unless something tears up with my receiver, I should not have to buy another Sirius accessory to clean up the sound and eliminate all the bleedover and the static. The modulator is $29.99, plus tax. If your local Radio Shack doesn't have it in stock, they will order it and can have it shipped directly to your house free of charge and within a week.

The car antennas are pieces of shit I had to return 3-4 of them (I've lost count :mad: ) If you have your car kit under warranty, they may exchange it for a working antenna. I've done that at Best Buy a few times.

I bought an in-line FM transmitter about a month ago when I was in Pennsylvania. I haven't changed the FM station since. Cost me $29.99, plus tax, and about five minutes of my time to install it. So now between having one of the older receivers (still had the stronger FM transmitters before FCC's changed mandate), the truck antenna, and now the FM transmitter, I am set for the life of the unit! :btu:

I have a Wrangler, my antenna mounting options are limited. My sportsters works just fine where I have it, I place the Stiletto antena there.. nada. It worked for a day, now nothing.

I'll get my Stiletto Car Kit hard wired this summer. Right now I'm using the Stream Jockey II for it's FM Transmitter. Fucking NAB. :mad:

That stream Jockey II has a great FM transmitter, i use it in in the Living Room and I can receive the signal all over the House and has pretty good strength outside as well :bigup:

So now between having one of the older receivers (still had the stronger FM transmitters before FCC's changed mandate), the truck antenna, and now the FM transmitter, I am set for the life of the unit! :btu:

I bought the hmmmmm extra cable that runs directly from my sirius to my factory radio and have been from Erie, Pa all the way to Myrtle Beach South Carolina and haven't changed the station once. No static, not bleed through Nada!! So worth the time to install it!

hey mr t ..I drove up through tuscan to phoniex to Vegas and never had a prob... Must of had a good channel to braodcast to. Phx gets static and bleed over on almost every channel. :rolleyes:

I have a Wrangler, my antenna mounting options are limited. My sportsters works just fine where I have it, I place the Stiletto antena there.. nada. It worked for a day, now nothing.
If Taylor can't hook you up, may I suggest spending $60-$70 on a Sirius truck antenna? Most of the major truck stop chains carry them (Petro and T/A for sure anyway). Near Philly, you can find either of them just across the Maryland line on I-95 at Elkton, or you can cross the Whitman, Franklin, or Betsy Ross Bridge and then head down to Paulsboro, NJ to the T/A or up to Bordentown, NJ to the Petro.

Taylor, correct me if I'm wrong, but those things are supposed to be compatible with all the Sirius receivers. Mind you, it's a little bulky (looks like a tall mushroom), but it has a couple mounting options for your vehicle. It's a shot in the dark, but I'm sure you're open for ideas and suggestions.

I've never taken a draw off a cigarette or used any tobacco products in my entire life. Kinda weird these days. My two younger siblings have been smoking damn near twenty-five years (my brother was nine, and my sister was eight when they both started). Mom smoked.... when I was 7 it was the COOLEST thing I ever did

I honestly don't know why my siblings thought smoking was the thing to do. My mother doesn't smoke, and my father quit cold turkey about a month before we moved to Arizona in '79 (he was smoking cigars at the time). I think my brother got around some others that were his age and told him it was the cool thing to do. My sister basically just did whatever my brother did as far as smoking and drug experimentation. I'm glad she's cleaned herself up, but I wish she'd quit smoking though. She's tried everything except going cold turkey, and her job has her stressed out so much that there's no way she'd even consider that method.

i'm convinced the confuse a child's energy with hyper activity. It just takes a parent some time and patience and consistancy to help kids learn where it's appropriate to place that energy. They wanted to put my oldest on Ritalin.......... I refused BIG TIME and with some time and patience she is a fabulous kid.

3x's ago I used it made they cravings worse..won't do that again I got Lemmons,Valerian,Labor and Sirius17 to sooth the beast and Bubba To make me laugh ...I dunno It feels dif this time .hmm

cold turkey was the worst, best smoke away best add a Valerian rooot cap and it was smoother

I've seen what so many people go through when they first try to quit smoking. Man, those DTs are hard to watch when they go cold turkey. As many of my high school classmates that were smoking at the time, I'm honestly amazed I never took up the habit. It amazes some of them to this day that I never started because they thought I'd been doing it all along. I know whenever I was at the neighbor's house when most of the kids there were smoking, a couple of them would ask me to go light their cig off the gas stove, and I ended up burning the ends off them because I never held them to my mouth. They learned pretty darn quick never to ask me to do that again. :D

AMEN to that! The docs wanted to put my daughter on meds, and we simply told them that ain't happening. She's sinced learned to channel her energy to doing other things (her schoolwork, singing, piano lessons, soccer). One of the best things we ever did for her was to do absolutely nothing!

You are absoloutly correct...I was the real deal . Today soo many parents,Teachers have no acceptance a a child that moves a lil' faster than the rest i would say in my experiance as a Teachers asst. that the a.d.d. tag is thrown way to f'n much on kids very frustrating :mad:
