View Full Version : I'm getting so FUCKING ANNOYED at my HTV!
teg_racer 05-16-2007, 01:39 PM It seems like about 75% of the time when I sit down with a beer (or food) to watch a new HTV program, the fucking thing doesn't work. Instead of playing the show, it comes back with that damn screen that says the program was unavailable. Then, 5 minutes later when I try again, it works.
WTF!!! So goddamn annoying.
Does anybody else have this problem?
m0tleyfan 05-16-2007, 03:38 PM NO!
FastEddie16 05-16-2007, 03:40 PM mine freezes all the time fucking blows
Da Truth 05-17-2007, 12:24 AM It's a local problem 99% of the time -- lots of areas have more advanced OnDemand services and rarely have problems, so it's not HowardTV's fault.
I'd suggest calling your local cable companies whenever there's a problem and tell them to shape the fuck up. :hw:
Nursegrrl8 05-17-2007, 06:54 AM unplug your cable box, then plug it back in.
Jay Z 05-17-2007, 06:55 AM its your cable system not htv.

Is that another type of Sybian? That one looks like it would be way more interesting. :bigthink:
sweet&lo 05-17-2007, 08:40 PM Yes, I do, and it is Annoying. Except your lucky mine doesn't come back on sometimes for days or hours, or without numerous calls to Comcast so they can re send a signal.
It's bullshit ... all the money Comcast has and they can't get the technology straight. I feel your pain...I'll have worked all day get home to watch a little TV, nothing on regular TV so i switch on Howard TV to see what I missed on the show..and up comes the error message.
dianeblu 05-19-2007, 10:22 PM Yes!!!
This happens almost daily here-it is SO frustrating.
With *extreme* patience, it usually works...but not always.
UGH

gasdriverca 05-20-2007, 09:18 AM Happened to me also & it was the cable provider not HTV,& i'm with Rogers cable in Canada.
mikeylive 05-23-2007, 11:45 AM I have Brighthouse Networks and they suck.
pellco23 05-23-2007, 12:25 PM How soon we forget - Doesn't anybody remember Howard on E! tv? Two 30 min censored shows and not that timley of topics.
I will deal with the small inDemand problems for the amount of content I get today plus it is "on demand" not a timeslot.
jpgojp 05-23-2007, 07:35 PM Oftentimes, the issue is that the signal quality within your home is not as strong as it should be. The best advice to fix this is to have a technician come to your home and analyze your signal quality and work on ways to fix it.
There are a couple areas in the country where the system in general has issues which prevents people from accessing shows but this is a rarer circumstance and can be confirmed if all of your neighbors have the same issue.
Posting issues in the Content Missing thread can be worthwhile too.
Cap420 05-23-2007, 08:50 PM you also could be trying to watch HTV as the ondemand service is updating or refreshing everything. it happens to me once and a while during the early morning...between 1-4 am. if i avoid trying to watch HTV during those hours 99% of the time it works fine. if it happens constantly, it's probably a signal problem. call up your cable company and tell them to send someone out to fix your shit. be sure to exaggerate how long it's been going on for and get free service for a couple months too.
KurtB 06-15-2007, 08:36 AM I never have any problems!
BUBBASAID 06-21-2007, 03:58 PM I still cant watch the 6-14 show. All i get is video error
SirLollipopMan 06-22-2007, 05:32 PM When I used to subscribe to Howard TV, the color would flicker for a few seconds and then it would turn black and white.
I had to pause and unpause every thirty seconds if I wanted to watch anything in color.
sm0kie 07-06-2008, 05:25 PM you guys are lucky to have HowardTV.. ever since i moved gay Verizon Fios TV doesn't offer it on demand.. anyone have any idea if Fios will soon offer HowardTV? i miss it.

As long as iN DEMAND Networks has an exclusive contract I'd say never. IDN is a private company owned by a consortium of cable companies. They are not likely to support a competing industry.
sm0kie 07-07-2008, 02:08 PM Oh. Sucks for me then. Going to be stuck here for a while, no howard Tv until i move again.
