Popular radio host, Todd Clem, better known as Bubba the Love Sponge is apparently getting the axe.
WFLA radio is reporting that 98 Rock and Clear Channel Communications have "severed ties" with Bubba. Bay News 9 contacted 98 Rock. The station said a press release from Clear Channel Communications headquarters in San Antonio will be issued on Tuesday with the details.
Clear Channel Communications was fined nearly a million dollars by the Federal Communications Commission because of remarks and actions on Bubba's show. Commissioners said the show was indecent. After that incident, the FCC warned Clear Channel it would consider taking away 98 Rock's radio license if there was any further instances of indecency. Bubba was also taken to court by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals for the on-air butchering of a pig.
Bay News 9 has not been able to reach Bubba for any comments.
