I've actually been listening to some Opie & Anthony lately. Rented a car that had XM so I gave them a shot, wasn't so bad, got curious and downloaded a bunch of shows.

Funny at times, but nothing when compared to Stern.

I really don't get most of you guys. O&A and Howard both put on good shows. You have to get into the inside jokes etc of course. But I can almost guarantee that if any fan of Howard gave o&A 2-4 weeks they would love the show. I listen to O&A every morning on K-Rock from 6-9 They end at 9 and I listen to the west coast feed. Can't beat it.

Any Stern fan who would give them a real chance would like them. They are very different shows with similar senses of humor. And I don't get the whole "made their career ripping on howard thing" I used to listen tho them when they were on WNEW and they were great. Now they are not as good as they once were , but i've been listening for about a year probably and they almost never mention Howard. Did they rip on him a lot in the past? Because since i've been listening to them they never really do.

I would put the rivalry behind me bc Howard has 10 vacay weeks & Fridays off & would like a second choice but the show doesn't do it
I hate all three of their voices & while Norton & Anthony have talent I don't like them on the air
Friday I listened to the first 30 minutes & Tom came in the studio & it reminded me how much better Howard was at K-Rock than they are by the give & take with Tom
They are nowhere near Howard IMO and Howard has been really mediocre lately (when he is on)

im not gonna lie .... living up here nere boston there really is a big o & a following up here ... i think its where they go their big break ... a lot of ppl still love them up here but it is still a 5 to 1 ratio of ppl who love howard

The Hoo hoo thing is like when All Terrain Face did Howard's voice on their last Leno appearnace, the audience was completely silent as nobody got the impression, Crater face was so nervous he blew the impression totally. Since the voice was off and the bit wasn't given a set up, it was met with dead silence and the audience was left wonderign why Leno, who was nervously laughing by then totally stuck in this bomb, had these two nobodies on.

I've tried listening to them and they suck. Sorry. And the ratings reflect that they suck. As for them not ripping Howard, they haven't ripped him since they were suspended because they need him, especially if the Sirius/XM merger goes through.

While Anthony is racist and stale I think he could put on a decent radio show, maybe with Norton. Carve a decent niche for themselves and have a nice career. Nothing legendary or great but just decent radio for a few markets.
