I did today :)

And I'm not coming back until I read that Hamptons Howie is trying harder at providing a show worth paying for.

So, based on the way things are going, I may not be back :(

To cancel?

10 minutes

I had the subscription for a year and a half, but had been considering cancellation for a couple of months now.

Too much time off and inferior shows.

Never really thought I'd wish Howard had just retired after leaving K-ROCK.

And there are occasional gems — Gilbert, George Takei, Rev Bob, a Riley Martin appearance, maybe another Martine Rothblatt interview . . .

As everyone says, the quality, or lack thereof of H100/H101 is no reason to cancel; there's a lot of good stuff on the other channels. As for HTV, personally, I don't even bother stealing it off the internets anymore.

I've cancelled Howard TV twice, that showed them. But I had Sirius before Howard and enjoy it because th music stations are a lot better than XM. I do wish Sirius would offer more and better talk shows, because around the country there are some pretty good shows to listen to rather than just having one main show.

I've had Sirius since 2003. I had it before Howard, and I will keep it after Howard leaves. You have to love the variety, and that is not such a bad thing when you drive 35,000 miles a year.

Howard TV will get the boot for sure. I sometimes wonder why I still keep that. He seemed to work harder when I listened to him on WCCC. Now, I really believe he is mailing it in.

If I wasn't a shareholder I would try to play that game too, but in reality, it only comes out of our pockets.

They didn't offer me anything, just a scripted reply on how howard has to "tone it down" because of the merger. XM is offering a 30 day free trial if you have a Dell PC, since my office is full of them it looks like I will be getting free subscription for a while and I like their music chans better anyway :)

I love all the drama queens getting pissed off because they're not getting their moneys worth out of Stern. Do yourselves a favor and don't listen to 100/101 for a week and listen to all the other channels. I'm sure you'll find something that you find interesting. I had sirius before Howard even announced he was coming and thought it was the greatest thing ever. Howard coming just enhanced it, and I admit I'm addicted to Howard and its kind of a letdown when hes on vacation, but then I remember there are 150 other channels to listen to. If you want to cancel your subscription, enjoy your bob & tom or whatever other garbage you'll be subjected to. In Boots fashion :hw:

A rational argument can be made from these points, that's all I'm saying.

If you follow the logic that
(1)"they" are all working towards, their stated- and desired-goal- "them" being Howard, Mel, etc., that the merger is critical for the success of the enterprise, and perhaps the industry, now, and
(2) if you believe that the opposition to the merger is looking for anything more to hang their hats on to further hate Howard

then->Howard does have to tone it down for a while. He even said so. I don't see how anything more in the way of ammunition is needed by the haters, those against Howard and the merger, except the power of something in today's headlines working as a motivating factor to feed and further enrage the sheep- those behind the people against Howard. These political supporters are pushing "them" to oppose Howard and thereby the merger. They figure that if it's good for Howard they are against it. Those supporters, the religious psychos, the people who are so afraid of what Howard says, are by way of their campaign contributions, controlling the politicians who are being aimed towards putting Howard down, repressing him, actually.

At least this is how I can rationalize it. A case can be made for this, whether you believe it or not is a different matter. There are powerful forces arrayed against Howard and everything he stands for. There ARE people frightened by somebody saying FUCK and CUNT. THOSE are the people we need to fear, people who are afraid of hearing a word BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY OR THEIR CHILDREN WILL BE SOMEHOW HARMED OR CHANGED BY HEARING A WORD!!! They fear that seeing a Playboy will create a rapist, because they themselves can not control their inner demons, and therefore they immediately ascribe the same weaknesses to eveybody else. That's the true sickness out there.

That is the ancient fear being used as a weapon. So if Sirius says Howard needs to keep it a bit "toned down" to not provide any more ammo for his enemies, then we'll allow them that.

But after the merger goes through, they BETTER turn it right the fuck back on!!!

Apparently, i am a "mult" named i heart or ???? it was ugly. i regret it and anyway the vultures went as far as begging Joey to investigate me... i am laying low and wondering if it is worth it.. i also revealed a personal problem about a family member. It is relentless, even early today the mult thing contined..etc etc. by the way Boots said i was Clean . is this the FBI or a howard stern fan network.. take care. ill be lurking around for now. I saw most of it. I warned you that the only way to exist around here, mostly, is to not give a shit what anybody says about you. The overwhelming majority of those miserable, assaultive people are full of shit themselves, because happy people just don't behave that way.

So, except for one major area, all you have to do is realize that anybody crazily attacking you is completely unhappy themselves- EXCEPT for the part about identity. That is a hot button issue here, and there is a substantial reason behind it. There is a real problem with agitators and there have been some really psychotic people on here who have reared their ugly heads.

Besides that, I had my own meltdown, in that I was disgusted by people acting like bullies who themselves were completely full of shit, and all that was needed was just somebody to stand up to them to shut them down, so I attacked all out and it was tiring. Something like this dickcheeze idiot liar skylarsmegma, just promulgating lies and bullshit only to cause dissention. All it takes is for somebody with some knowledge and some backbone to refute and expose their every lies and they'll end up pretty much useless.

So I'm glad you came out the other side, and don't give up the ship. Just don't let little words typed anonymously into a plastic box somewhere in a trailer park in the swamp get you down. :D :gwave:

I've been listening to Howard for nearly twenty years. To say I've been fixated would be an understatement. He is extraordinary. However, I've found the past six months on Sirius to be a disappointment. The show feels repetitive with an inordinate amount of bellyaching. For the first time in twenty years, for me, it's become tiresome to listen to. I believe the show needs a 100% complete overhaul. I simply don't find the current "bitching" to be funny. I no longer find myself driving my car off the road due to Stern antics. I no longer find myself saddened with the end of each show. Something is definitely wrong. I have four months left on my 2 year Sirius subscription. I had every intention of listening to Howard forever. The show has become tedious and I'm hoping enough fan observations will encourage Howard that "change is good". The show needs to be defribulated and fast. I'm not stating that there weren't some wonderful additions to the show in the past year or two. I just strongly feel major changes need to be made to make the show fresh, innovative and, once again, on the cutting edge of humor. I'm sure I'll receive a plethora of complaints, but having been a fan of the show for so many years, I no longer feel compelled to listen and, am sadly no longer addicted. Once again, "change is good" and with regards to The Howard Stern Show...........complete change is better. It is very regrettable that if the show doesn't pick up in the next four months, I will be leaving both Sirius and Howard. The entire show feels "tired".
