Widget & I drove Dan's wack packer, Andy up to the studio. We went up the night before had some fun and a nice trip to the Howard Stern building in the morning. We saw some celebs and friends plus hung out in the Green Room. I've posted some photos from the day for you all. The rest will be up ASAP.[hr]
Andy has been in several car accidents without his seat belt. He's also been in a couple motorcycle accidents. Because of this, the nerves in his one eye are shot, and his one eye hangs lower than the other. matter of fact, the one whole side of his face hangs lower than the other. He has some trouble speaking sometimes, but eventually spits it out. He's not dumb at all, and that makes him that much funnier. He'll be having trouble spitting something out and when he finally does, it's a witty comeback and you are left dumb founded that he came up with it. He also says some real off the wall stuff. You can tell that he is trying to behave the whole time you are with him. He kept acting like it was a job interview and he didn't want to fuck it up. When he would finally slip into himself, he was priceless.

That night I ripped some audio from Goodfellas for Dan while he was busy shaving Andy's head and the girls hit the bar. He has shaved it several times before, but wasn't ready this day. Luckily I had a razor. After his head was shaved, he looked like Stone Cold Steve Austin. Well, Stone cold after a horrible accident at least. We were cracking up calling him Stone Cold Andy. Then in the morning Artie said he looked like Steve Austin. Widget & I got a big kick out of it.

Dan had also already used the Goodfellas clips for a George W bit which they played while we were there. My very small contibution to the show. :) Dan threw that together quick, and it sounded great. Much better than I expected. He had it layered with the other audio instead of just cutting and pasting clips together. a very professional job. Funny too. Anybody have a clip?

You couldn't tell it from his appearance on the show, but Andy is a riot. He's fun, has off color comments, and sticks up for himself when provoked. I personally think he has all the makings for a classic wack packer. His friend Kim kept making fun of him, and he'd shoot right back at her. Thats when he let his guard down and really showed himself. We need that Andy. That Andy is the wackpacker. The combination of it all, made the guy fun. I bet he'd have a ball rating chicks.

Big problem is, he's not good in the morning. He has really bad short term memory and when we got up in the morning, he didn't know where we were. We had told him not to talk too much about the accidents, to keep it short, and move on. Unfortunately he forgot all that too. It must be the first conversation he has with everybody.

Anyway, here are some photos from the trip. I was asked not to post the Andy pics yet, so I'm holding off on them but they'll be up soon enough.

When were first got there, our names weren't on the list. there was a crowd of people out front who wanted to see Quentin Tarantino & Daryl Hannah. They were already upstairs on the show promoting Kill Bill 2. They had to call upstairs and confirm who we were. Andy's friend Kim calls losers, millers, so as a joke she said his last name was Miller. We didn't know about it. It was a big pain in the ass, but the guys got it straightened out and let us up.

While we were signing the release forms, Andy was sept away to talk to the E! crew. A couple minutes later Quentin T & Daryl Hannah walked out. Widget wanted to say hi & snap a photo so badly, but she played it cool and left them alone.

Ronnie came out to check us out with the metal detector & check out our bags. He was very nice and led us to the back green room. Chris Rock was already in the front room. KC walked by and came in the say hi. He was very nice as usual and gave Widget a big hug. He was called back to work, but stopped back with presents. He brought us 3 promotional Artie Lange baseball bats. He didn't need to do that, and we really appreciated it. Thanks.

After Chris Rock was finished, Ronnie came to get us and bring us up front. Again, he was really nice. This is the Green Room you always see on tv. The studio was right there and you could see in to the show. Lots of people were walking around. All people you'd recognize. It was exciting. Tom walked by a dozen times. He didn't look happy. I don't know if he always looks that way or if something was going on.

The show is literally 10' to the left out that door. Gary walked by at one point and seemed in a real good mood. Artie went by for a drink. Like I said, people were comming and going and even though we weren't on the show, it was fun just to be there. it seemed like everyone was having a fun time. It must be a cool place to work.

The E! cameras came in & got Andy. We had to wake him up at one point, so we weren't sure how he'd do. He insisted on going out for double martinis the night before and wasn't having a good morning.

Dan stopped back in with Andy. He said he was going to see if he could get Artie to come back and sign the bats for us and told us to hang until the next break. Dan & Ronnie were having an argument in the hallway. I won't go into details since thats really Dan's story, but I was sure this would make Ronnie be a little less friendly torwards us. After awhile, we thought we better just take off. As we walked out, Ronnie stopped us and assured us it was cool to stick around. He surprised the hell out of me and was still really nice. Even went as far as to say he'd go get Artie for us during the break. Way to go Scoresman!

Artie came back, signed out bats, and posed for photos. He hadn't seen them let alone signed one yet so it was fun for him too. He said it made him feel like a major leaguer. He recognized us from the shows and we told him we'd catch up with him in Vegas.

We drove home right afterwords. No trip to the Brooklyn Diner this time. Just a quick drive through the village to pick up tulips for Mom & Widget. It was another fun trip to the city.

Here's Dan the Song Parody Man sitting with us in the first Green Room. He stopped by to check on us. This is where you wait when you aren't the next guest. It's the same room we were in when we brought High Pitch to the studio. From here we could listen to the show. At this point Chris Rock was on & Andy was going up afterwords.

I know, the photos are out of order. get over it.
