View Full Version : Show the power of the Bubba Army
BryanG 10-15-2007, 08:49 PM From the sounds of things it doesnt look like Bubba is gonna get a fair deal. And it's clearly obvious that corporate doesnt give a fuck about the Bubba Army, because no matter how many calls we make how many petitions we sign does not matter. This unfortunatley will not help Bubba get a new deal but it will show the power of the Bubba Army. I propose that all the true members of the Bubba Army write a letter to the Department of Justice and the FCC as consumers of Sirius radio objecting the proposed merger of XM and Sirius. This will give Sirius one big final fuck you on behalf of the Bubba Army. If they receive hundreds of thousands of letters from Sirius subscribers this could greatly hinder the possibilty of those fucks getting even richer.
This post will probably get me kicked off of the SFN, if it does its been great guys and Fuck this place its bullshit and LONG LIVE THE BUBBA THE LOVE SPONGE SHOW!!!!!!!
greddy10 10-15-2007, 08:53 PM Dude, you will probably just hurt bubba's chances of getting resigned. Why piss sirius off when they are still talking? Just chill and let this all play out... Just saying.....

Your intentions are admirable, yet a bit premature, IMHO.
At this point, I believe that would do more harm than good. As of now, much of our opinions (if they will agree to a deal) are little more than speculation. If by chance Sirius was on the heels of a deal, this would make Sirius very unhappy and could potentially ruin all chances of a fair contract.
BryanG 10-15-2007, 08:57 PM ok i see your point, lets set a cut off date then. live early november before the DOJ and FCC meet again. And of course make no mention of Bubba in the letters. We can be "concernd consumers"
Scales 10-15-2007, 09:01 PM Holy fuck.
If Bubba's fans ever did something that stopped the merger, Howard would go so apeshit that he might have a hard time not holding a grudge towards Bubba's show for something his fans did.
And I think it is too early to discuss anything this drastic - but I don't see it being good for Bubba under any scenario.

We can be "concernd consumers" no... he said it wont get done until the deal is almost up.... which i take that comment as the very last minute
BryanG 10-15-2007, 09:19 PM the last thing i want to do is jepordize any chances Bubba has for a contract renewal. I just find it very hypocritical of sirius "no more bullshit" slogan. as a subscriber and a shareholder i find it very disheartning the lack of respect they have for talent. then again the whole damn thing could be the best work ever and my mark ass got all worked up in a shoot.
but if everyone thinks this could fuck over bubba in the long run, maybe it aint such a great idea after all. But you got to admit it would fucking crazy!!
This is an empty threat, but here's the website for the NAB regarding the merger.
http://www.xmsiriusmonopoly.org
Again, it's an empty threat because, merger or not, Sirius may have already made their decision.
TripleDigitRide 10-15-2007, 09:30 PM This may be a stupid question, but ......
Couldn't XM just let Sirius buy them out, or would that be the same thing?
At the current rate, XM better hope the merger goes through. I believe XM will have no choice but to go under if they aren't allowed to merge.
Scales 10-15-2007, 09:36 PM Couldn't XM just let Sirius buy them out, or would that be the same thing?.
As far as I know, this merger is Sirius buying XM.
BryanG 10-15-2007, 09:38 PM its actually a buy out the term "merger" is used very loosley and for PR reasons. Take out and buy out doesnt sound good to the public.
BryanG 10-15-2007, 09:38 PM excuse me I meant Take Over
Jaeger 10-15-2007, 09:46 PM This is a bad Idea and would NOT be helpful to our show at all. In times like these I don't understand why people want to take a negative approach to things.
Have you made a call? did you send a letter? If so were they positive and highlight that you enjoy our show, or were they threats to cancel if our deal doesn't get done??
In any case, I am confident this will all work out. and just as confident that all the negative actions, and message board/petition/phone theats do not help our show.

BryanG 10-15-2007, 10:30 PM all right shitty idea my bad. i'll be the first to take a shit on the idea. I just sure hope they resign him. Bubba is a great entertainer and it would be a shame not to hear him, cause radio in california absoultley sucks.
I also will say I havent written any letters and after the feedback will not consider sending any letter either.

If it is ever time for the Army to do something, Bubba will get the word out somehow.
Until then, just sit and cross your fingers for him.
It is very frustrating, I'm sure we all sympathise with your feelings of helplessness.
Pills 10-15-2007, 10:34 PM In any case, I am confident this will all work out.
I hope you are right. I just wish Bubba and Brent felt the same way. They didn't seem too upbeat about the whole situation today.
Jaeger 10-15-2007, 11:28 PM Nah, Brent is the least worried of anyone. He is pretty sure Sirius will do the right thing.
Black Sabbath 10-16-2007, 12:38 AM I don't think it is going to happen, I have seen both company's advertising this last weekend for the first time in a long time....................
