That's a really good question.

I'd say everyone should get at least 1 warning. Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to know where that invisable line is, but most of us are smart enough to know right from wrong. Plus, Bubba's forum isn;t usually known for a bunch of shit startin' assholes. Not that any other forum is either, but ya get my drift. ;)

The VIP Room is just a section of SFN with stricter rules. It's not as some people are saying, a super elite club. In that forum, all members are protected the same way that VIPs are supposed to be protected. You are expected to be polite and act as you would if you met these people in real life. People who appreciate the protection of those stricter rules can post there and feel safe without fear of being harassed. People who don't want to deal with shit that strict and enjoy mixing it up, don't have to deal with it. It's that simple. I certainly don't want to make the whole site that strict but don't have a problem with making one little section that way. Some people here always push the limits and make others uncomfortable. In the VIP Room people will be able to post without harassing replies from annoying SFNers.

Any other description of the purpose for that forum is an inaccurate assumption. If people are mad, it's becasue they think it's something it absolutely isn't. Any posts spreading that misconception are lies and an attempt to cause problems for the site. People should base their opinions on what I've announced and not some bullshit that someone who knows knowing about it has told you.

The VIP Room is just a name like backstage. It's got nothing to do with SFN VIPS or elite members. It's not a popularity contest. Anyone bitching is either just angry every time I do something here or is just pissed off becasue the people they currently torture online finally have a safe place to post. If you don't want to post in there, don't. we have a politics forum and I don't hear anyone bitching about that, ya just don't go into it. This should be no different. if you don't want to to be all nice, don't go in there.

The process to get in hasn't been setup yet. It's not that you weren't invited. Almost nobody's been invited yet. I'm letting people in 1 at a time right now. I'm working on a more automated process but we just don't have it yet. Calm down. The same way that we throw assholes in TO, we'll be letting the non-assholes into The VIP Room. It just takes time.

It came during a rough time, a lot of people who didn't think they could get in got ticked off and started a lot of hate towards the idea. That caused some long time posters to go down in flames. Some people have to 'learn how to work'

Mutt said that VIP title or not, if they couldn't play nice in that sub forum, they would be tossed out of it. A lot of people with VIP titles aren't cut out for that forum.

Me too. I want all the old stuff back. I'm glad Hawghead's was saved but there's still FTP and all those listening threads. I'm just glad they haven't been deleted. I think they'll stay there or some people will lose thousands of posts.

The first night we were back in buisness Wiz said she was moving threads back one at a time. I don't know why there wouldn't be an easier way. It could be part of the reducing the hate mentality Mutt has decreed. Maybe they could archive them in a subforum like "old chat" from the Stern side. A lot of ifs and maybes in trying to speculate on what will happen to them.
