I keep picturing the scene from "Half Baked" in which Scarface quits the fast food restaurant and, if they leave, would find it hilarious if Bubba ended his Sirius run in that manner.

May of been developed in case Sirius didn't re-sign??? May be part of the problem, because its a revenue stream and therefore Sirius wanting to control content, etc.

But the site is fairly new based on domain registration.

hey brother :hw: ... haven't heard anything solid yet. I dunno man, that ship may have already sailed. I honestly still think that Sirius is simply pushing him out. I just couldn't imagine them making the negotiations any tougher on him. He excelled way beyond their expectations, so they offer him less money???... And when Bubba says okay to less money, they argue content and distribution??? I just don't know man... I'm really hoping that we get some huge surprise, that they finally do re-sign them, BUT... I don't want Bubba to have to eat a plate of shit to pull it off either. I'd rather see Bubba in some other form of distribution than see him continue a relationship with a company that obviously doesn't appreciate him, and possibly doesn't want him. It's a pretty sad situation.

Perhaps I'm too objective yet (and hopeful it works out), but Bubba said he agreed to less money, right. My hopes are that Bubba may take less $$, but Brent, Spice, Manson and others would be paid by Sirius, instead of being paid by Bubba. That would leave Bubba to less overhead cost, allowing him to take less pay and still be alright financially. But, I'm probably looking into something that isn't there.

I do believe that the hang up right now is over creative control. We probably won't know until it's all said and done, if the details are released then.

As much as I'd hate to see Bubba go, if he's having to take less money and still be censored. He might as well go get paid on Terrestrial for the same censorship. Just hope that there's an Internet feed so we call can still get our daily Bubba fix.

Unfortunately, that's the way I see it too. The only thing that they would need to do is cut out the obscenities. There has been nothing on the show for the last 6 months that couldn't be aired on terrestrial. Nothing I can think of anyway. In fact, there are things that have been nixed by Sirius that would be fine on regular radio. Homeless men can't drink beer.. right.

This has really made me consider ditching Sirius. Had it two years before Howard came, listened to Air America mainly. Now that's gone, and with Bubba gone, there isn't much of a point.

I'm right there with you on the notion to cancel, but don't cut your nose to spite your face. If it truly isn't worth the money to you anymore, which may be my case, then by all means cancel. And make sure you tell them why.

My point is, that by the time Dec. 21 rolls around, a new deal will be in place and he'll be out the door. I doubt Sirius will come begging to have him back. Bubba will already be in place somewhere else. May be too little too late.

My father-in law was a trucker in the late 70's when they had the oil strikes. He was telling me stories of how the truckers formed convoys miles long and drove their rigs at 10 MPH to lock up 95.

It only takes a few truckers to fuck a lot of shit up.

Why wouldn't a company that is admittedly having cash flow problems not bend over backwards for their number 2 show to stay on the air...for less money? Even IF Bubba wanted to re-broadcast a sanitized version of the show over FM, where is the harm to Sirius? Think of the extra publicity and potential subscribers that could result from that.

Even if Bubba wants to re-sell his shows on iTunes, where is the harm to Sirius?

Running through every scenario of what Bubba could want, I cannot figure anything that would reflect negatively on Sirius! Especially if it is costing them LESS MONEY!

What am I missing?

He can't get medicinal marijuana, so I scored some from an old friend. He wanted me to take a few hits of it meself with him...lol. I've never really cared for weed, just never my thing, but I did it. Well I happened to realize that I was stoned when after devouring half a pack of turkey slices and three servings of jello.. found it and it still makes sense! ;)

my take on it all...
they probably knew months ago that there was no way sirius would meet the sweet deal they were offered locally, but they held out hope. once it became clear that sirius wasn't going to ante up, they offered the simulcast option to sirius for less than what sirius was initially willing to pay them. to which, the controlling fuck hole suits at sirius said, "no way, if you're with us you're with us, we dont want your simulcast jones." however a simulcast deal isn't completely dead, if not on sirius, possibly on xm. or so it seems to an avid listener reading between the lines/songs...

or its a major fucking work...
either way bubba will be around somewhere! just might not be as easy as flippin from 100 to 101 at 3:00 ;)
