View Full Version : The Lakers are the Western conference #1 seed after killing Clippers last night....
Vernon Dozier 02-24-2008, 09:43 AM And if that's not enough for you they have only played a league low 25 home games thus far and will be getting their prized franchise center Andrew Bynum back in a month or so.......
Around the same time they will also be getting one of their best reserves in Trevor Ariza!!!
Can you really lie to yourself and others here by saying your not scared????

sorabji_66 02-24-2008, 09:48 AM Can't wait for the playoffs to start.
Hope all key personnel are healthy and that this is the best set of series and Finals ever.
EMFBoss 02-24-2008, 09:49 AM Why not start a Lakers thread seeing you will probably start a new thread every time they win a game? Just saying :hw:
JusBlaz 02-24-2008, 10:49 AM If Bynum plays the way he did before he got hurt, they will probably go all the way. He has been out for quite a while, and he will be rusty when he comes back. I just wonder how long it will take him to get it together.
fatroider4 02-24-2008, 11:15 AM They're also only 5 games out of 9th place so who gives a shit

PLZ,callmeTED 02-24-2008, 12:52 PM Lakers in June, bitches.
chefmickey 02-24-2008, 12:54 PM I am not scared. I know I'm setting myself up for a lot of hate here. but I believe this is the year for the Jazz. The bulls in the 90s had me scared, but the lakers are yesterdays news. Phoenix might now give me a bit of a fright, but Boozer and Kirelinko will do what stockton and malone couldn't. Of course they Don't have to contend with Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman.
Maximus06 02-24-2008, 12:58 PM Lakers look pretty damn good....with the East being so shitty again they really should take the top 16 teams.
Lakers better hope they don't get matched up with the Spurs before the West Finals though

Once again...
The top 2 teams in the NBA are Boston and Detroit. By any argument you want to make about winning pct you are checkmated at every turn.
Should be a great playoff with the West killing each other and Boston/Detroit coasting to the Eastern Final.
And if the East wins again that makes it 3-2 over the past 5 years.

Well, the Celtics were just exposed by the Suns, even without Barbosa. The Pistons get their chance in PHX in about an hour, we'll see how it goes. I think of the top 10 teams in the NBA, 9 are in the West, and that's including Boston at #7 or #8.
The West is gonna have to go through Phoenix this year. :D

Shit, the game starts in a few minutes, not an hour. That's what you get when your wife goes shopping and sticks you with your 6 week old baby. Time warp.
howard's libido 02-24-2008, 01:41 PM Why the fuck do good things always happen to the Lakers!?! :ra:
Pimpy McPimp 02-24-2008, 03:54 PM I am not scared. I know I'm setting myself up for a lot of hate here. but I believe this is the year for the Jazz.
Maybe if the Jazz played every game at home...they suck on the road. Did you see the Clippers kick the shit out of them the other night?
chefmickey 02-24-2008, 04:19 PM I do agree I think that they've won like 24 at home and 12 on the road and the clippers game was a debacle. But they will make the playoffs and then Its a new season where experience counts. Jerry sloan will take care of the road game.

HOW DID IT GO IN PHOENIX TODAY???
WAS THAT AN NBA TEAM OR NORTHWESTERN OUT THERE.
A moment's silence for the totally wasted career and promise that was once Grant Hill.

I'll take Phil Jackson's experience of winning championships over Sloan.

You can't be dopey enough to think that losing on a West-coast swing shows you are an inferior team.
That's why we have playoffs, both teams play the same grind.
And the Finals are going to start at Boston or Detroit this year.
Don't like them but the Pistons are easily the strongest team in the NBA right now.
sorabji_66 02-24-2008, 05:10 PM I'll take Phil Jackson's experience of winning championships over Sloan.
But Phil can't coach by just saying "Get the ball to Michael" any more.
chefmickey 02-24-2008, 05:10 PM The days of Phil Jackson getting the better of Sloan in the playoffs are over my friend. Really they were over back in the late 90s when the buzzer beat Jordans final shot. but that's another story. Jackson has been reduced to babysitting oversized egos.

That was an all out ass kicking out there , HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!!!
Phoenix showed the entire NBA world that they are way worse off after trading for the big "Benedict Arnold"!!!

Or push the rock to Shaq in the paint.....

dcjispimp 02-24-2008, 09:49 PM Lets not forget that the Lakers are also one of the leagues youngest teams and have one of the deepest benches. I can't wait for the playoffs. Its been too long since the last parade. ;)
I miss JACKIE 02-24-2008, 11:06 PM Utah has never won anything ever, what makes you say Sloan owns anybody?
you dumb ass Mormon...
chefmickey 02-24-2008, 11:21 PM nothing makes me say Sloan owns anybody, I never did. What the fuck are you talking about? And I'm not a mormon, far from it, but If that's the only attack you can think of feel free to mormon bash all you want. I just said the jazz were due and this was the year. now unless you can think of some more witty mormon jokes or maybe you could really step up and get with the racial slurs, I'd like to get back to watching the donkey show.
chefmickey 02-24-2008, 11:23 PM By the way I never atack on this site I just like to talk shit with others who have the same interests as I. But when some fucking idiot bashes me for no reason, well.
I miss JACKIE 02-25-2008, 12:09 AM You talk about my mom and say you never attack anybody?

chefmickey 02-25-2008, 03:24 PM Sorry I diddn't mean to. But if I started a jazz thread I'm sure I would be talking to myself. My respects to the lakers.
A.Lang=Crazy 02-25-2008, 04:09 PM Lakers are the best team right now, but that can change by next week. Lakers go on a 4-5 game losing streak and they could be in 4th or 5th. Just shows you how good the West is. Rockets have won 12 games in a row and barely moved up the standings.

fatroider4 02-26-2008, 12:24 PM Brandon Roy isnt even playing in the game. This one should be a murder.
Vernon Dozier 02-26-2008, 01:42 PM ^^^^^Wow , what's wrong with Roy???
I like that kid he's a gamer and by far their best player.....
Should be an easy double digit win for the Lake Show!!!
Piss Facial 02-26-2008, 01:44 PM If by chance the Sonics leave, then I plan on becoming a Laker fan.

Just as long as you weren't a fan before Shaq was shipped out , stopped being a fan , and now choose to be a Laker fan again , I've got nothing but love for ya......
(In a non fagatty way of course)

Should be an easy double digit win for the Lake Show!!! I got this from OregonLive.com
Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy said he will miss at least the next two games because of a sprained right ankle, prompting coach Nate McMillan to shuffle his starting lineup for Tuesday's game at the Lakers and Wednesday's contest at the Clippers.
McMillan said his probable starting lineup for the Lakers game will be Steve Blake at point guard, Martell Webster at shooting guard, Travis Outlaw at small forward, LaMarcus Aldridge at power forward and Joel Przybilla at center.
Its too bad because without Roy and James Jones the Blazers cant do anything. I probably watch this game and cry through most of it

Thx for the 411 bro , it's a damn shame because now you guys have a great excuse for the ass whoopin we lay on ya..... :D
No but on a serious note , when you factor in the two 20 year old franchise centers who aren't even playing right now , the Pacific division will be a battle between Blazers and the Lakers for the next 8-10 years with all the young studs both teams have on their roster.....
