Don't know wtf happened man 2k7 was titts and all of the sudden the makers of the game caught the retarded flu!!!

So it's XBOX 360 during football season (King Madden)and PS3 during baseball season(The show)...

You CAN buy Madden for the PS3 you know. Besides the blu ray game discs are like 50 friggin gigs, and the xbox games are like 8 at the most. Is there any xbox exclusive titles besides Halo anyway?

Whoa whoa, WHY is PS3's MLB THE SHOW 08 better? My problem with the 2K series is THIS:

You can no longer control the ENTIRE league via season mode. In other words when you set up a season they only let you choose like 4 teams now INSTEAD of the previous WHOLE league from 2K5 (XBOX original). For a fantasy guy like me this is UNACCEPTABLE. Sort of like going to a Chinese Buffet and only being allowed to choose 4 items instead of the whole buffet. It makes no sense???? I LOVE going through the season scedule and picking ANY game that has the best pitching match up (no matter WHAT team)

Does "THE SHOW" give you access to the season mode's WHOLE scedule like 2K series USED to? The Sony sports games never did in the past, they only let you pick ONE team which SOOOO cheesy and also why I never bought it.

Madden frame rate will be much better this year. EA didn't have the frame rate problem solved on the new system in time last year. I think it will be dramatically improved this year. I'm a 2k fan. I always played The Show/MVP/Triple Play etc but last year there was a delay on the release of the Show and I was jonesing for a baseball game so I bought 2k7. At first I hated it. It was too different with the pitching and the hit stick and all. But I forced my self to learn it and once I got used to it I never looked back. Just to be sure, I rented the show when it came out and was going to trade in 2k7 for it but I thought it sucked.

So this year I bought 2k8 and so far, I don't really like the pitching but I'm trying to do the same as last year and stick with it and now I've gotten the hang of it a little and I'm starting to like it. I think once I master it I will like it more. Sometimes the harder the game is to learn, the better it is once you learn it.

As far as the graphics/ frame rate issue, if you go into the xmb and set the maximum resolution to 720p on your ps3, the graphics look great. If you have it set for 1080i they look like shit.

Same here, but I play on 360. I played two games when I first got it and quit in the 2nd inning both times. I was down 17 to 0. Now I got the hang of the pitching and fielding and I like it. As far as framerate, there is supposed to be a patch coming soon to fix it

HD DVD had the same picture quality and was a finished product. Blu Ray held more disc space, has slightly better audio and won all the studio support.

Actually, the framerate suffered this year because of the graphic upgrade. If you look at the attention to detail on MOST of the players, it amazing in high def. Overall though, I agree that this years game isnt all that great. Im doing a draft right now and that shit is awesome. But when the game starts, its about a 8 out of 10 until that update comes.

Any 360 owners out there had their boxes die on them?
Mine died like 2 weeks ago, i was playing and it overheated so i turned it off for a bit, played alright for the rest of the night.
The next morn i played for awhile and it overheats again. i turn it off and then on again. and it wouldn't turn on.

And whats weird about it, i never got the infamous 3 light ring off death. It was just one red flashing light on the lower right quadrant with a E74 hardware failure screen. I called them up and they sent me a coffin last week and i sent it out to the FULFILLMENT CENTRE.
They got it yesterday morning and i checked the status on the repair tonight and it says order processed. device sent back to customer. YAY!!
It was there 1 day and they said it may take 10 days. Maybe they sent me a new xbox, who knows.
I should have it thursday. I might buy Rockband to celebrate

xbox's are breaking but they are still the dominant system out there. i don't count the wii, thats just a fad toy for soccer moms.

I know the xbox has outsold ps3 but that's because it's cheaper (price and quality) and it came out first. Toyota Camry outsold Mercedes CLC but which car would you rather have?

PS3 is about a yr and half (or maybe even more) away from being the console to consider buying. Right now theres nothing on it, except for the blu-ray. As of right now i can think of around 5 games that are on the ps3 that are woth buying that aren't on the 360. Thats Ratchet and Clank, Drakes Fortune, Resistance and maybe MLB the show.

When i have the PS3 alongside my 360. I will lean towards the 360 for the games that are on multiple consoles. Mainly for the insanely addictive achievement system (gamerscore) that adds more depth to your games.
PS3 is now trying to add that feature (trophies for HOME) because they see how innovative the achievement portion of the games can be. I'm an achievement whore now. And you will be too if they get achievements on the PS3.
The PS3 is 1 step behind 360 right there.

And because Microsoft had yrs to work on and perfect the online portion of the Xbox. Xbox Live and Xbox Live Marketplace kills PSN. Note: I personally didn't compare them but thats all i hear from gaming sites and magazines.

Before you bash the 360, give it a try. The newer consoles that are comnig out this yr will have a higher stabilty rate because of the new falcon chip that they developed.

I'm a beta tester for home. I think it's going to take it to the next level once it goes live. Also the eye camera is amazing and innovative. Eventually all of these things will come together and the ps3 will be as much of a social networking device as a gaming/movie machine. There are also many great downloadable games (and some lame ones). Check out Pain and the bowling game. It uses the sixasis controller and is a lot of fun.

I have played the 360 and I think the games are great but overall, the ps3 will win out.

that eye toy seems cool, the eye of judgment seems like a step in right direction. turned my head when i first saw it. maybe they could get dragon ballz or pokemon card games for the kids or does nintendo own pokemon. or maybe even some command and conquer style rts

Definitely need HDMI cables if you have a HDTV or Plasma.. I have them on mine also upgrade your audio cables to optical cables if you are running surround sound .. Anyways the PS3 is a cool system regardless of what the die hard Xbox fans say..

Fuck yes I agree with you totally !! I have mostly sport games for my PS3 and I have all the 2k games and even though the basketball one is pretty cool, the NBA 08' game is way better and in 1080i , and MLB The Show is just one of the best baseball games i ever played ..

Best advice yet , I just called the local gamestop and asked a few questions and the dude told me not to buy them from their store and to buy them online....

He said they cost like 55-60 bucks at his store but if I go online I could get them for like 7 -10 bucks.....
