View Full Version : Off the air relationship - Brent / Spice kaylot 03-26-2008, 02:49 PM Any one else think Brent and Spice have a genuine dislike for each other? It comes across on the air to me that they don't care for one another. Anyone have insight? kentrey 03-26-2008, 05:14 PM I could see that. Spice gets a lot of attention and maybe Brent would like the torch to be handed to him when Bubba retires instead of Spice. And "The Master Cocksman" title makes a lot of guys jealous of Spice and maybe Brent too. But then again, Brent has a great situation with his marriage kentrey 03-26-2008, 05:30 PM Now that I think about it, I could not see Brent producing Spices show so maybe that could cause tension BubbaMark17 03-26-2008, 05:40 PM You may be right, Spice is the prodge after all..... WhiteWolf 03-26-2008, 06:05 PM I remember when Brent was on meet the shrink, he said his wife slept with a co worker and spice didn't join the show when they got to Sirius. I always thought those were connected. kentrey 03-26-2008, 06:25 PM I remember when Brent was on meet the shrink, he said his wife slept with a co worker and spice didn't join the show when they got to Sirius. I always thought those were connected. I dont think they wouldve kept Spice on board if that happened. It would always be too awkward when Bubba would talk about Spice crammin Heather and Amanda had to answer that "who would you bang Spice, 25 Cent or Chip" question in the newlywed game. If that was ever to happen, I dont think that question wouldve been in there WhiteWolf 03-26-2008, 06:29 PM True, also all the talk about him never wearing a condom would probably make Brent commit murder. sirartemuslange 03-26-2008, 06:39 PM I remember when Brent was on meet the shrink, he said his wife slept with a co worker and spice didn't join the show when they got to Sirius. I always thought those were connected. They talked about this before, it was one of her coworkers. Bubba basically said he would kill any employee that humped another employee's wife. SteelerFanWilly 03-26-2008, 07:18 PM If Spice banged Amanda he wouldnt be employed anymore. They train together - its all good. Tom from T.O. 03-26-2008, 07:55 PM Spice kept his job when Bubba and Brent were fired. Spice had a "Mortgage to pay", as he put it, so he kissed corporate ass, never defended Bubba or Brent and never kept in touch with them as he continued to get paid and Bubba and Brent were facing the end of their careers. Brent won't forget it, he sees this as a betrayal, in some ways it was. pokerstar 03-26-2008, 11:36 PM Spice has a good sense of humor, and Brent has the personality of a dead moth. sidewinderseven 03-27-2008, 11:55 AM they're different people with different interests. end of story kaylot 03-27-2008, 02:30 PM sidewinderseven and Tom from T.O., I get both of your points -- trying to figure it out myself ... interesting that Spice stayed after Bubba / Brent got canned, now if they talked about that more extensively on the air, that would be radio gold!!! They may be from "different" worlds, but look at Manson. I think he generally gets along with both Brent and Spice pretty well, but they wouldn't go hang out all the time outside the studio. It's just something about Brent and Spice - it seems like they never directly address each other, and/or compliment each other on well, anything. Just sensed some heat there, want the show to address why this is Babaganoosh13 03-27-2008, 04:36 PM Don't they both train together at Gracie's? There can't be that much bad blood between them. Tom from T.O. 03-27-2008, 08:42 PM sidewinderseven and Tom from T.O., I get both of your points -- trying to figure it out myself ... interesting that Spice stayed after Bubba / Brent got canned, now if they talked about that more extensively on the air, that would be radio gold!!! They did talk about this, Bubba was totally up front about the issue and Spice explained himself "I had a mortgage tp pay". When he was asked why he didn't at least call and stay in touch, he dodged the question. Brent held back and said little. The other thing is Brent was/is the producer and Spice was kind of crow barred in as another "producer." I think that had to be awkward at first. I agree that Brent rarely engages Spice on air but that is becuase Brent is not fake, what you see is what you get. By now, I think they get along but Brent won't pretend to be Spice's cheerleader. JKGroups 03-27-2008, 09:34 PM Dislike & not being very close is different I have people in my crew that I will never be as close with as others just because we don't bond as much but I do not dislike them Solidbaby 03-27-2008, 09:52 PM *Flash back to mid 2006* Bubba: I'm thinking about offering Spice Boy a job here. What do you think Brent? Brent: No way. Jus sayin.... Heatherwiz 03-28-2008, 06:58 AM LOL.. it is stuff like this that makes the guys from the show shake their heads, laugh, and say, "look the marks got it wrong again" not that it matters :p Big Dick 03-28-2008, 08:41 AM They did talk about this, Bubba was totally up front about the issue and Spice explained himself "I had a mortgage tp pay". Glad this is finally uncovered. It becomes a bit of a hassle daily when they are constantly at blows. This one time Brent threw a chair at Spice and Spice fought back by actually picking up Bubba's Daewoo and hurling it at him before putting Brent in one of those rear naked choke things. They actually have to stay in seperate hotels on the road for Bubbapalooza too. It's hard to believe we have made it this far. Thanks for listening! I don't expect any more response from the show guys, this is just silly.. Gator_Russ 03-29-2008, 08:02 AM Glad this is finally uncovered. Didn't know Spice was so buff that he could hurl a Daewoo but now I know not to fuck with him if I see him out at a club. emtfromny2 03-29-2008, 08:04 AM Any one else think Brent and Spice have a genuine dislike for each other? It comes across on the air to me that they don't care for one another. Anyone have insight? I don't know if I'd say dislike, but maybe some awkward tension because Brent has been Bubba's "right hand man" for so long and stuck by him through Clear Channel tough times. I understand why Spice had to make a living, but it seems he didn't have much trouble hanging his co-workers out to dry. Kind of like a what a scab would do when a union strikes. I think Brent resents that Spice walked in after they were all set up at Sirius, and the entire crew except Spice had to have a two year period of uncertainty, then had to swallow their pride to come to Sirius. Spice just rolled in like he owned the place and Bubba treats him like the next best thing to Howard. The show only works because they are all good together. I wouldn't listen to any of their individual shows every day like I do now. Same with Howard. Without Robin, Fred, Artie (Jackie), Richard (F-Sal) Howards show would be sub-par as well. Spice had to make ends meet, and Radio is what he is good at. No hard feelings. The show is much better with Spice back on. I still listened pre Spice. but the dude makes me laugh. :) Tom from T.O. 03-29-2008, 02:59 PM You know shit? Like what Tom? Look as Bubba says, "Everyone cuts their own deal in life". Spice chose his path and can't pretend that he stuck with the rest of the team. Spice did what he felt he had to do. I'm not hating on him, I'm just saying that is what he chose. Tom from T.O. 03-29-2008, 07:15 PM I was responding to the question asked, I didn't say I blame Spice. Did he stay silent or join in on the Bubba and Brent bashing? Enquiring minds want to know. emtfromny2 03-29-2008, 07:59 PM This is obviously purely a guess, but I don't think that Spice is disloyal like that he would talk shit about the guys. Not even close. Agreed & if he did I doubt he would be back studd boogie 03-30-2008, 03:22 PM After Brent started working out at Rob Kahn's, Spiced followed shortly after. I don't think anyone else from the show trains with them, and it is in their off time. I'm surprised no one has mentioned this..I'm just sayin is all! kaylot 03-31-2008, 11:06 AM ttt salisahomo 03-31-2008, 03:24 PM another useless thread |
