Steve just reported KKK died this morning at 7:00am :(

His mother told Langford an infection from pneumonia spread. He succumbed to his illness. He died in custody. He was 39.

He had been in court but before you trash the guy, what he did was ask a 16 year old girl to get in the car & offered her a ride home. That's far from saying his a child molester. The girl even testified that he never got out of the car or touched her. Kenneth never even got a chance to defend himself or make a plea so please don't make accusations.

THE CHARGES
Concerning the charges against Kenneth, she was not a little girl the way it sounds when you hear the news. She was 16 and a guy could easily mistake her age for being an adult. Whereas nobody thinks a little girl is an adult. By saying little girl it sounds like he was a total pedo. At 16, he could have just made an honest mistake.

the girl testified that Kenneth never got out of the car or touched her. all he did was offer her a ride, try to talk her into it, and then left. he even said who he was and threw out his credits. how they could twist that into attempted kidnapping & child abduction is beyond me.

If he did say, your mom knows me I'm sure he meant i'm kenneth ketih from the howard stern show, your mom would know me from the radio. he was delusional into thinking everyone thought he was a big deal, "famous". Anyone who's talked to him knows this is the way he'd talk about himself. I'm confident this was all a misunderstanding simply becasue he was stupid.

It's really a shame he didn't get a chance to testify & try to clear his name.

HIS DEATH
So it's really been bugging me that a thirty something year old guy would die of pneumonia . I mean thats something babies or old people die of. Remember, the jail never brought him to his court date forcing him to stay in jail longer and wait for a new date. I can't help but think that that act led to his death. If he had gone to court on time, he could have defended himself, potentially been released, and gone to the doctor. I find it hard to believe that this was an accident. It seems more like an asshole thing done on purpose to fuck with a "child predator".

The news said he had Cystic fibrosis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cystic_fibrosis). So like any good net nerd, i looked it up. here's what I found concerning Cystic fibrosis & pneumonia.

Antibiotics are given whenever pneumonia is suspected or there has been a decline in lung function. Antibiotics are often chosen based on information about prior infections. Many bacteria common in cystic fibrosis are resistant to multiple antibiotics and require weeks of treatment with intravenous antibiotics such as vancomycin, tobramycin, meropenem, ciprofloxacin, and piperacillin. This prolonged therapy often necessitates hospitalization and insertion of a more permanent IV such as a PICC line or Port-a-Cath. Considering that the jail couldn't even get him to court, I wouldn't be surprised that they drug their feet getting him to the doctor. According to Langford, Kenneth looked near death when he finally made it to court and he still had not been giving medical treatment. As I read thru everything concerning Cystic fibrosis, it sure seems like something that you need to keep an eye on. Langford said that the last time he was in jail that his mother explained about his condition and they made arrangements to accommodate him. She tried that again this time but they did not give him any special treatment. He wasn't sent to the hospital until he was unconscious & full blown pneumonia. It simply was too little to late.

pneumonia is a fucked up thing. it can sneak up fast on some people. i knew a young person about kkk's age who was at home with it who died without going and getting the proper care. for a while it could have seemed like he had a bad cold or the flu. they probably had him in the jail infirmary and then moved him to the hospital when his condition worsened.

I feel horrible that KKK died.

But..... had he not had his numerous DUI arrests, he wouldn't have violated his parole and been able to make bail and been out of jail. The outcome was horrible but you can't blame the prison system totally. They're over-crowded and not equipped to give proper medical treatment to someone that has cystic fibrosis. He should have been released due to medical reasons, he wasn't a flight risk.

He was transferred from the prison infirmary to a private hospital, where he died. :(

I met him once during a screening of Private Parts. He seemed like an OK guy. He was kinda acting like a rockstar, but that was Kenneth Keith, I guess. RIP. He signed my book.

Fuck! This is really sad, and tragic. His blowing-smoke-through-the-eyes appearance on the Channel 9 show was quite possibly the funniest and most memorable Howard moment ever. He could have done nothing else in his life and I'd still remember the fucker.

I don't really know the details, but it sounds like the local cops had a hard-on for KKK, and tried to trump this "abduction" accusation up to bring him down. Howard kept saying on the air that Kenneth was accused of abducting a "little girl"...I wonder if he is just so old that anyone under 20 seems like a toddler or if he's just misinformed or doesn't care....seems like a big distinction between an 8 y/o and 16 y/o to me.

From what Langford just said regarding the discrepancies between original police reports and subsequent court testemony, there's a lot of question about whether KKK even did what he was accused of. So, how about we all give this guy the benefit of the doubt and give him some respect for passing away under these sad circumstances.
Someone called in to ask about this report and since the girl is a minor, they wouldn't acknowledge that Langford ever released this information. I know I heard him report that she was 16 and KKK didn't actually touch her tho. Then Dominic called in and Howard shut him up too. I think Langford may have f'd up and released more information than permitted when the alleged victim is a minor.

This is so sad, I can't imagine the stress he had to deal with in jail. You hear the way a accused or convicted child molester is treated in jail will make anyone sick :notgood:

Meanwhile Steve has it so fucked up. There were no charges pressed yet but the girl has "testified on the stand"???
