It was actually cool, any wildlife coming into my yard is a welcome thing. I hate kids though, those are the creatures I want to shoot.

kick ass :D Thanks. It's been a long time since I have had a really good camera to work with. Learning to shoot again has been fun. I bought a 16 gig card for it so I can really muck with settings to try and get the shot I am really looking for. The card holds about 3500 shots at "highest" quality jpeg. 1500 in RAW mode.

Spooky fuckers!

I walked outside and had my back to them - it was just before dusk - and I got the creepiest feeling, like there was some sort of presence. Then I turned around and saw those fuckers, and I have to admit it spooked me. But I did have the presence of mind to go get the camera.

They were still around the next day, so I hiked around on my property and came across a fresh deer carcass. I think they were waiting for it to burst open or for the coyotes to do the job.

I felt like Woody Allen declining an invitation to go on a camping trip, "I'm at two with nature."

I was going to reply yesterday but the forum ate my response...

I finally made it up to City Lights Bookstore a couple of weeks ago... they turned the old dead cat alley behind the store into the Jack Kerouac alley... it's quaint.

I just got my dslr...it is SOOO worth it....get a huge card for it and you can get thousands of pictures at full res..
