1) Nino DelPadre, who bought the rights to distribute Riley's merchandise, has reneged on his promise to pay a certain amount each week to help keep Riley on the air. The amount is low enough that it doesn't make economic sense for artistfirst.com to sue him, but high enough to have a significant impact on their ability to pay to put Riley on and pay for the bandwidth for his archives (100k downloads of an 80 mb file each week).

2) Riley's pissed because he's not getting any income from artistfirst.com. For your info, people have to PAY to get on artistfirst.com. The going rate is $50-$75 per hour. Even with the remaining one corporate sponsor and the listener sponsors ($50/month), they barely cover the costs of the show. Riley thinks that he should get all the money from sponsorships. He is not thinking clearly...

So, based on what's happened today, Riley could lose his gig on artistfirst.com, and later in the year, lose his gig on Sirius. If you're not a fan, you could give a rat's ass. That's fine. If you are a fan, you can't save his ass on Sirius, but you might be able to save it on artistfirst.com via sponsorships. Consider it.
