Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been picked up by police again.

Sources say around 4:30 PM yesterday, friends who were hanging out with Rampage, waved down an Irvine police car after they were worried about his behavior. This, of course, following the insane chase the day before in which the UFC fighter hit several cars in his monster truck and was arrested at gunpoint.

We're told Irvine cops saw Rampage, deemed him a danger to himself and others, and took him to a hospital for observation. Rampage was very coopertive with police.

Cops won't officially confirm if it's a psychiatric hold.

Some friends  . They should have just smacked him around (not literally, of course) & made him get his mind right instead of flagging cops down getting him involved in more BS than he's already buried with.

UNLESS, this is some sort of ploy to declare insanity (or something similar), in his big case for hit & run & evading, which is what I sort of expect.

Sad to hear. His fight with Forrest was awesome and was a bigger summer event then I thought it would be. Wonder what's going on with him.

'Rampage' Jackson detained for mental health evaluation (http://sports.espn.go.com/extra/mma/news/story?id=3494175)

IRVINE, Calif. -- Former mixed martial arts light heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson has been hospitalized for a mental health evaluation.

Irvine police went to Jackson's home Wednesday after his friends told authorities they were "concerned about his behavior and some remarks he was making," Lt. Rick Handfield said Thursday.

"Officers spoke to him to evaluate whether he was a danger to himself or others," Handfield said. "He was detained and was taken to an area hospital for mental evaluation."

Handfield declined to elaborate, citing privacy restrictions.

Jackson was arrested Tuesday in Costa Mesa after a 3-mile chase that began as the result of two freeway collisions and another crash when he allegedly ran red lights in his 2008 Ford F250 pickup, police said.

During the chase, police said, Jackson drove over the raised median of the roadway, drove onto a sidewalk, causing pedestrians to flee, and a tire on his truck disintegrated before he taken into custody without incident.

Jackson was booked for investigation of felony evading, reckless driving and hit and run, and released on $25,000 bail.

After the arrest, police said they learned that Jackson may have been involved in two collisions on the freeway, which did not involve injuries.

Jackson lost his Ultimate Fighting Championship title July 5 in Las Vegas to Forrest Griffin in an unanimous decision.

UFC spokeswoman Jennifer Wenk in Las Vegas declined comment on the 30-year-old fighter's recent troubles.

Next on the docket, locking himself in a motel room and smothering shit all over the walls, it is.

I'd go crazy too if I spent six months telling the whole world how I would kick someone's ass and not let a fight go to decision then spent the fight waiting for an oppurtunity and lost by decision

It's also hilarious that he actually ran from the police in that obnoxious looking truck with his body plastered all over the sides
