badlieut 10-06-2004, 07:01 AM The new Sportster unit from Audiovox for Sirius is pretty cool. I'm going to have to get one before I quit my second job at bestbuy.
howardfan 10-06-2004, 07:04 AM this is what I was waiting for, now there is a reason to get Sirius
yigael 10-06-2004, 07:05 AM Crazy stuff- these are gonna be 15 exciting months
barbedwireman 10-06-2004, 07:08 AM ok people who have had this, I want to listen to Howard in my car and at work, what the fuck do I need? Is there a portable device that I can buy or do I need something for my car and something for a radio at work?

I just checked the sirius site ... 150 bucks gets you a portable radio, car adapter (dunno what kind) and the receiver.
impaman 10-06-2004, 07:13 AM I'm screwed I have XM already.
hendrix5150 10-06-2004, 07:14 AM majority of all new cars that are of decent models have satellite Radio packages you can get from the auto dealer with really cheap packages and membership plans.
On Hold 10-06-2004, 07:15 AM i want SIRIUS on a walkman!!
On Hold 10-06-2004, 07:18 AM looks like sirius.com has already crashed
mayorjuana 10-06-2004, 07:36 AM I wish he wasd going to xm but sirius will be just fine
mayorjuana 10-06-2004, 07:37 AM ha ha haha haha XM radiop still advertises on howards own website
On Hold 10-06-2004, 07:39 AM is it stupid to ask, How come Howard can't simulcast on both CIRIUS and XM? the same way he was on Viacom & CC??
Beerman 10-06-2004, 07:55 AM How much do you think it will be to get the show? I am psyched to hear the show how it was meant to be heard.
BigTitsMan 10-06-2004, 08:09 AM This is the best news I've heard in a long time. I'll be sure to get Sirius ASAP.

vbtrader 10-06-2004, 08:58 AM Great news, too bad I got XM 1 month ago, thinking he would go there. Now I have to switch all my hardware.
got it thanks, nice banner Doctor
NickFoley 10-06-2004, 09:42 AM Already have a Sirius capable receiver in my car. I'll sign up soon to try out the service.
badlieut 10-06-2004, 09:47 AM Howard said it will cost no extra to get his show. The monthly subscription rate is 12.95 for Sirius. They have various packages that make it a bit cheaper. Or, you could sign up for life for $499. That offer expires in December.
JVC and Audiovox both make good Sirius units that you can use at home and in the car. It's $150 for either one right now and that gets you everything you need for your car. The home kit is typically an additional $50. Right now Sirius is offering a $50 NFLshop.com giftcard for the purchase of a Sirius unit w/ either a car kit or home kit. Not a bad deal.
captainstabbin 10-06-2004, 09:52 AM Sirius sucks compared to XM....Their music playlist are real bad and it is next to impossible to get a good signal at home.
That being said not sure how many of his fans will actually PAY 13.00 A MONTH TO LISTEN
The Bad Guy 10-06-2004, 09:55 AM Oh glory days.
First the NFL and now Howard Stern.
God life is good.
zmarko 10-06-2004, 09:56 AM Just picked up XM a few months back as well, thinking that Stern would move there. Oh well. I need to pick up Sirrius stuff now.

I've had both XM and SIrius and Sirius blows XM out of the water.
Sirius doesn't have "premium channels" that you have to pay additional for, and I've had zero problems getting a signal at home.
Plus, with the NFL and now Stern, Sirius is going to dominate XM.
Beerman 10-06-2004, 10:01 AM Yup - and maybe since their stock is going crazy they may invest in other technology to improve reception etc...
The Bad Guy 10-06-2004, 10:04 AM I was just reading Siriusbackstage.com, which is the "unofficial" sirius message board. Are there going to be 3 streams for Stern, wtih one being a premium one?
evrc1ear99 10-06-2004, 10:19 AM I love how you guys are talking about going out and buy a Sirus receiver NOW!! Gotta have it now...WTF?
Stern won't be there for another 15 months....save your pennies...
Doctor Ivan 10-06-2004, 10:39 AM got it thanks, nice banner Doctor
