View Full Version : Breaking news!! Sirius radio Stock surges in pre-open on Stern deal!! hendrix5150 10-06-2004, 07:20 AM SIRIUS Stocks rose 20% from the anouncement of the Stern Deal on Howards show.. its on the stock watch news headlines and market watch right now! http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=SIRI Doctor Ivan 10-06-2004, 07:27 AM http://greetings.123city.net/TempPictures/54867.gif Howard's announcement this morning about moving to Sirius Satellite Systems after his final fifteen months in his current contract brought a broad smile to my face. For one thing, the show will have a vitality that has been sorely missed for quite some time. Howard experiences rebirth when he feels he can take on an evil empire (Take that WNNNNNNNBC!). This latest upcoming move will be his largest challenge to date and this morning "The King Of All Media" revelled in the fight to come. I have no doubt in my mind that satellite radio will be revitalized with the coming of Stern to their ranks. This, like cable TV, will have an impact on the way America and the rest of the world listens to radio. impaman 10-06-2004, 07:32 AM I wonder if he bought a ton of Sirus stock yesterday if that would be insider trading?? If it's not he should have, I should have. mayorjuana 10-06-2004, 07:34 AM I wonder if he bought a ton of Sirus stock yesterday if that would be insider trading?? If it's not he should have, I should have. No but I am sure they threw in Stock options with his contract deal. A lot of companies do that, and that is not insider trading. Alanis Morrsette did that with MP3.COM when it opened in 1999 and signed a contract to promote her music on the site and made 40 million dollars in Stock options and cashed out within 6 months. So I am sure Howard is making a ton with his stock options. blylek 10-06-2004, 07:47 AM WOOHOO! I picked up this stock awhile back when the FCC first started in on him after boobie gate. I wasn't sure if it would be this one or XM, but I became much more comfortable after O&A went to XM and he said he wasn't going where they were. Shit I wish he would just quit now and go! blylek kiiski 10-06-2004, 07:47 AM Alanis Morrsette did that with MP3.COM when it opened in 1999 and signed a contract to promote her music on the site and made 40 million dollars in Stock options and cashed out within 6 months. Won $10k and decided to gamble on 5,000 shares. My wife was not happy about what I did, but we were financially stable at the time and I just had this hunch that satellite radio would be the thing in a few years. I picked Sirius because it was the cheaper of the two and I didn't even figure Howard into the equation. Only drawback is now I have a child and that fund is now earmarked for her education. Now what we need to look for in the future is numerous splits and maybe even a takeover by Viacom or a similar company. We'll just have to wait and see. dee bo 10-06-2004, 10:57 AM Man I wish I had 5000 shares of Sirius. mayorjuana 10-06-2004, 11:02 AM I bought Sirius a year ago in Sept. @ $1.53 with money I won on a scratch off lottery ticket.
