View Full Version : $499.99 for Sirius
Is anybody planning to order soon? There's a deal that ends at the end of this calendar year where you get a lifetime of Sirius for 500 bucks. If you listen to Howard for the five years he's there, that's the cheapest way to do it.
There was nothing to click on the read more about it, but I have a feeling there won't be too many deals closer to Jan. 2006.
Prince 10-07-2004, 01:12 AM so there isn't an extra charge for howard's show on there??? IF we get this $500 package we have everything on sirus for no monthly fee.. a flate rate?
starless 10-07-2004, 01:14 AM howard's show is included in any basic sirius package, the other two channels howard is going to run will probably be premium
aj1000101 10-07-2004, 01:14 AM careful... this if for the LIFE OF YOUR RADIO!

each radio receiver has a unique serial#.
within the first year, my receiver was replaced twice... :(
granted sirius wasnt selling the hardware, but still...

I guess there's no extra charge for Howard's show, according to the news reports. Maybe the two other channels he said he was gonna get.
And I think that's a flat rate. I couldn't find anymore info than what's on this link--

kdub2043 10-07-2004, 01:28 AM $500 is way too much
aj1000101 10-07-2004, 01:40 AM dont forget the initial fee for the price of the hardware itself.
right now, that can be from $100-200...
trailer_parks 10-07-2004, 03:31 AM I'm paying month to month, and my receiver's been good for over a year now. I was going to pay the $500, but was afraid of the receiver crapping out on me. Since I'm paying monthly, it'll probably last forever.
Jladzin 10-07-2004, 04:13 AM THANK YOU FOR ALL THE INFORMATON
milkman59 10-07-2004, 05:08 AM Don't assume that Howard's show will be no charge. I'd wait awhile for the updated equipment and for a straight answer on how subscriptions will work pertaining to the show.
morrissey 10-07-2004, 05:35 AM I don't know how he's going to pull this off...I don't think there are that many people that are going to run out and buy a satellite radio just because he's moving to it....that's a chunk of change....

If you buy it for only Howard, you will be getting ripped off. Personally, I;ve been using Sirius for a year now, and love it. It's worth every penny. Having uncensored Howard in 15 months is just a bonus.
ArnyVee 11-25-2004, 03:40 PM Okay, I'm a little confused though. If you get the LIFETIME subscription....it's only for the lifetime of the actual unit? That doesn't seem right though. The unit is one thing and the billing is another....isn't it?

of course not...
TIVO has the same thing. lifetime of the UNIT.
although i heard that if your unit fail within the first year, you MIGHT be able to transfer the lifetime sub to a WARRANTEED receiver.
so, say you have a 1 year warrantee on the receiver unit.
that dies. you get a replacement, then that might transfer over...
CHECK WITH SIRIUS ON IS THIS THOUGH...
