Am I stupid of thinking of buying a radio now and getting a lifetime subscription for it? I tape the show from my radio at home so I would be getting one for the house not the car. Anyone else thinking of doing this? And what radio seems to be a good home system?

Personally I am waiting until it gets closer to when HOWARD is on Sirius.....I wanna get the most up to date equiptment. :hw:

I believe the lifetime subscription is only good on the original radio. If it breaks, you are screwed and out $500. Somebody posted on here that their radio had to be replaced 2 times in the first year. I woudln't do it.

I would wait too dude.....I bet there is going to be a ton of promos directed to Howard's fan base

Once it gets rolling the price will only go up. I don't know what I'll do. Hmm. Once Howard goes on they'll probably have some kind of 3 or 6 month trial subscription.

When I first signed up with Sirius (almost 2 years ago), the lifetime sub was only $300. Now I believe it's close to $500. If anything (outside of a special promo), I would guess it will
only increase as the "Howard Launch" approaches.

i think either they'll raise the price knowing a lot of us will be become new subscribers, or, around the time howard premieres, they'll announce a promotion with a discount...

personally, i'll be waiting, also, until about a few weeks before...

If I may suggest one thing to anybody contemplating the FM or RF modulated unit...DON'T do it. If you live even remotely close to an airport, a local television station that broadcasts close to the bottom of the FM dial, or an FM radio station close to the tuners preset reception range 87.5 - 88.5 (typically)...YOU'LL BE VERY sorry. The cross-talk and multipath will drive you nuts. Spend the extra $100 and get the hard-wired unit. (Speaking from experience)

I would wait, by the time Stern is on the air, I'm sure the equipment will be better and cheaper....

im gonna let the technology get better in a year then try it out. a lot of bugs will be worked out in a years time.
