DALLAS — Dallas police are raising questions about an officer's report of the Adam "Pacman" Jones scuffle that landed him an NFL suspension.

News 8 has learned that the department's command staff believes the officer intentionally omitted key details in his report — including the name of the troubled Dallas Cowboys cornerback.

As the party was going on inside the Joule Hotel on October 7, Officer Rodney Allen said he stopped to take in the sights and sounds.

News 8 has obtained a statement in which Allen in asked to detail what happened. He said he watched Adam Jones "exit the nice vehicle from the passenger side and enter the hotel."

This statement contradicts the original police statement, which states that by the time officers arrived, the disturbance had ended.

For Officer Allen and Adam Jones, it was just beginning.

It's unclear where the officer was inside or outside the hotel, but in his statement he says:

"As I admired the hotel designs, the hotel security advised me that something was going on in the restroom near the lobby."

That's when he heard a call on his police radio about a fight at the Joule.

Dallas police said Jones' bodyguard told them the Cowboys player punched him in the head when they were in a hotel bathroom.

Officer Allen told News 8 he heard a crash in the bathroom — that's when he broke up the scuffle.

Everyone was escorted out.

A second officer, Senior Cpl. Miguel Jamaica, said he observed Jones sitting in a car, "getting upset as he cried."

None of these details were mentioned in the original police report.

Now, Dallas police commanders are worried because — according to a memo to Chief David Kunkle — the "vagueness" of the report could "cast doubt on his [the officer] and the department's credibility."

Dallas commanders are hoping the hotel management will cooperate and tell them whether their officer is telling the truth.

Officer Allen has a lengthy history with the internal affairs office at the Dallas Police Department. He's been written up numerous times since 2002 for failure to complete a report, spreading rumors, untruthfulness and improper investigation.

Wow, KOAW...I'm actually surprised at your reply, seeing as how you defended him over and over again as you are both Mountaineers.
