View Full Version : The delay is being hit if "SIRIUS" is even mentioned! Purity Knight 10-26-2004, 08:00 AM During the Cabby segment, Cabby tried to complimented Howard on his move and the delay was hit twice... damn Howard is on lockdown! Gumhead 10-26-2004, 08:06 AM What do you want???? Its a conflict of interests! Bababong 10-26-2004, 08:06 AM There was another dump about an hour ago when Howard was talking business. It was wierd cause Howard said Syrius a few minutes later. I know it's not my station they don't dump shit. They do have the red ass about Howard going to sat though. Arties Ball Bag 10-26-2004, 08:22 AM Its bullshit. He gives them 20 years and makes them millions and they cant support his move? fucking assholes! Madbandit 10-26-2004, 08:55 AM I thought the legal letter he was issued not to talk about it was still valid. What's wrong these guys?! Tom from T.O. 10-26-2004, 09:26 AM Howard has never bad mouthed Viacom but lets face it as they eat up the entire radio industry along with Clear Channel they have not challenged Howard's fines in court because they did not want their devouring of stations to be stopped by FCC redtape blocking so in the end Howard was thrown under the bus so they could keep up the radio duopoly drive. Mel didn't cave to Congress like Hogan did but Howard has always kind of been left fighting this battle by himself, including being totally abandoned by the Fouth Estate which barely mentions this stuff. Now that Howard has saved himself they are going to start playing hardball and Les Moonves will start baring his fangs. They will all eat the dust in 2006 when Howard once again has to demonstarte the difference between running a business and being the actual source of the business, guess who actually holds the cards Les? So, in the end, Howard was thrown under the bus so they could keep up the radio duopoly drive. Mel didn't cave to Congress like Hogan did, but Howard has always kind of been left fighting this battle by himself, including being totally abandoned by the Fourth Estate which barely mentions this stuff. Now that Howard has saved himself they are going to start playing hardball and Les Moonves will start baring his fangs. They will all eat the dust in 2006 when Howard once again has to demonstarte the difference between running a business and being the actual source of the business, guess who actually holds the cards Les? I agree with you, especially the Fourth Estate (newspapers) being "I don't care" about Howard's free speech trouble. If and when they get shafted, I will laugh. BigTitsMan 10-26-2004, 09:37 AM "Sirius" was censored in Cincinnati. Howard's going to get fucked over by Infinity and Viacom, after all he's done for them. Just you wait. bababooey2uall 10-26-2004, 10:40 AM Unfortunately, the nature of big business is that it has no loyalties and if it can increase profits by a penny by fucking over a 20 year loyal employee, it will jump at the chance. King Of All Chris's 10-26-2004, 12:14 PM I bet Howard told Sirius that he would promote the shit out of them during his last year. sinisterurge100 10-26-2004, 12:39 PM I have to resort to downloading the show everyday , and in the past month or so they've even been dumping the names of other stations Howard has worked for in the past. About a week ago he mentioned WNBC about 5 times within a minute and everytime it was bleeped which makes no sense what so ever. It's been 17 years, since Stern wasted that station. My God!!! sinisterurge100 10-26-2004, 12:45 PM WNBC-AM doesn't exist anymore!!! It's been 17 years, since Stern wasted that station. My God!!! Thats the part I dont get. It was during one of the discussions where he was talking about all the other stations he worked for in the past and they bleeped every station he mentioned. It may just have something to do with the station that my download is recorded off of. oldpaddy 10-26-2004, 12:54 PM I'm guessing it all depends where you listen from. I listen to a Cape Cod station and I never here station names or SIRI bleeped. Sometimes I will download the show and listen to it again and some shows are bleeped where they weren't live. gazill 10-26-2004, 01:08 PM "Sirius" was censored in Cincinnati. Howard's going to get fucked over by Infinity and Viacom, after all he's done for them. Just you wait. I'd hardly call being paid multiple millions of dollars as being shafted. Yes, he certainly helped make them the behemoths they are today, and they, in return, allowed him to becaome extremely wealthy. BigTitsMan 10-26-2004, 01:35 PM Hey, fuck you, asshole. Howard Stern is just a tool used by Viacom to make themselves more money. That's how they see him. They don't care about Howard's 20 year history with Infinity and all he's done for them. T Rath 10-26-2004, 02:14 PM Orginally posted by BigTitsMan Hey, fuck you, asshole. Howard Stern is just a tool used by Viacom to make themselves more money. That's how they see him. They don't care about Howard's 20 year history with Infinity and all he's done for them. You are correct. Just like Howard didn't care about Infinity's 20 years of support of him, while undergoing federal scrutiny because of (bullshit) FCC charges. It's just business. Howard decided to go to another venue. that's his right. And Infinity has the right to not promote the competition, competition that they know will kick their ass when Howard makes the jump. Trust me, I've been in radio. Small markets are scared shitless over satellite. And the big players are looking at how quickly the TV Networks lost viewers and worried it's going to happen to them. I still think that in January or February, Infinity will pay Howard to stay at home for the remainder of the contract. gazill 10-26-2004, 02:17 PM Hey, fuck you, asshole. Howard Stern is just a tool . Yep bababooey2uall 10-26-2004, 08:30 PM I still think that in January or February, Infinity will pay Howard to stay at home for the remainder of the contract. I'd say he is gone next Summer. He won't last till Dec '05 for sure though. Arties Ball Bag 10-26-2004, 08:32 PM I agree, June 1st 2005, at the latest. Good observation. And yeah Sirius is getting through here and there, but its DEFINITLY being delayed here and there as well. Maybe it depends on the context of how he uses it, if its sounding like a commerical, I don't know what rules they have in place, but there's no question THE SHOW is dumping it at times. I listen to the whole show pretty closely all day and there is no doubt!! The beginning of the Cabby interview when he started to congratulate Howard, then it was dumped, Howard said you can't talk about it, Cabby started talking about it again, dumped again. Its happened other times too. Hell it may even be Howard hitting it at times, trying to appease Viacom, but the fact that its getting dumped is crazy! There must be complete interal chaos within Viacom! Their cash cow, their prized jewel is leaving! People are gonna lose jobs and shit! Long Live The King Of All Media. |
