Is there a way to stream Sirius with the I Phone when you don't have WiFi?

I heard Mutt on the show the other day talking about an App "Star Player", but I haven't been able to find it at the App store...

Oh, also, someone called into the show to say they are building a Sirius App, so when that is done, that will be a way.

It is in Apple's hands. They have to review it.

Hopefully SiriusXM make a cut off this so they can stay afloat.

Can anyone confirm this...

So when the price increases, if I just have the Internet radio, would the price still be $12.95?

I ask becuz if this IPhone program works, I will just plug it into my car and dump the Starmate I have.

There's a free app that connects you to a free stream of the show. Just google around.

you better get approval of this app before Howard it out of there or before the company folds!

Bad timing - I would have jumped on this app a year ago but with all the bad talk re Sirius you may be losing lots of potential customers.

Good luck though - looks like a good product.

It's been two weeks...I guess the program was denied. My friend's program made it up right away.

too bad Sirius is not giving us a free internet account with our regular subscription, soon an internet account will be 12.95 also, so if you want your reglular subscription and online you will pay 12.95 + 12.95

So some searching around leads me to various posts that seem to hint that maybe SiriusXM is going to come out with their own iphone/pod player. Theory is that it might coincide with the end of free streaming, start of paid streaming. Anybody have any info on this?

I heard that the new APP Sirius is putting out will only work on WIFI. Maybe this only applies to the IPod and not the IPhone.

Anyone else heard this? I think it's pointless to make the APP for MOST people if it will only work on WiFi.

I would like to go to an online account only for $12.99/mo that would work for the IPhone. PLLLLEASE I hope I can do that.

I locked in my price for 3 months only. After that, if the App isn't what I think it will be, I am done, sadly. Didn't Mel tell Congress something to the effect that pricing won't go up for three years?

Works great plus a thousand + Internet radio stations. No problems using the 32k stream on Edge or 3G networks. Finally no wires, antenna, power supply or POS Sirius radios.

I got this today. It sucks that it's $10 but it works.

It's just as good of quality as listening on my computer. I will be driving with it tomorrow and listening through my car speakers. I will keep people updated on the connectivity (which has been excellent so far) and any problems.

But in an office building, it worked for 4 hours straight! No problems.

Does it work on iPod Touch? I'm guessing that you're not connected via Wi-Fi if you're using it in your car.

There is a new version of Pocket Tunes out that fixes the bugs in the previous release. It now automagically reconnects to Sirius when switching from WiFi to 3G, 3G to WiFi or when hanging up after answering the phone.

Another new version of PocketTunes is out. I'm not sure if this was fixed in this release or the last release but you can now shut off the display to save batt life when connected to WiFi and it won't time out after 30 minutes.

The latest rel of PocketTunes 5.2.2 has all the Sirius and XM IR stations listed in the catalog now. Much easier to use now to set a favorite or just select from the catalog. Woo Hoo!

If you jailbreak can you restore the phone back to the as delivered configuration? What happens if I need to bring it in to an Apple store if it needs warranty service? Can Apple tell if the phone has ever been jailbroken? Thanks

mx727
05-31-2009, 08:32 AM
Yes, you can. In fact when you have to update the firmware to 3.0 in a month or so, you will restore back, update and then jailbreak again.

I jailbroke my phone a year ago and have done several updates. Since then, I've done all of my families phones. It really opens up the phone and has turned it into a true laptop replacement for me.

Just read where they say not to upgrade to iTunes 8.2 if you have a jailbroken phone until after iPhone 3.0 firmware is released along with the jailbreak for 3.0
